A guest from Duluth, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2016 Paid over $200 a night in March Too much for this condo. Sofa sleeper old with springs or rods poking in you. Very old bar stools not chairs on balcony Washing machine front hanging loose and making awful noise when in use and toilet paper holder fell of wall. We addressed these issues with management in hopes of some compensation but never heard back. My husband has been thru a lung transplant and needed separate sleeping but due to horrible sofa bed we all had to sleep in one bed (husband, wife and daughter) bad 3 days. This condo was supposed to be ocean front but actually sits back off beach behind pool and restaurant.
Robert W. from Cortland, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 16 days in February, 2016 Unit needs some small things. Light bulbs burned out, very limited kitchen items (dishes, pots, pans etc. Some floor rugs would help. Close to needing new furniture in living area.
Kristie G. from Mauldin, South Carolina does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2015 The unit was clean had a great view. Really pretty quiet for a condo. I will say it had the bare minimum of kitchen supplies, pots and pans and utensils etc. The patio furniture was not the best and most importantly the big king sized bed was hard and very uncomfortable. I never give reviews for anything but considering the price of this rental I think the owner could invest in these things and make this a much nicer unit.
Jane H. from Troy, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 We loved the proximity to the beach. The restaurant and bar were very handy. Close to shops and restaurants. View was amazing. Pools a bonus. Washer and dryer a plus. Only issue was several light bulbs out and ice maker in freezer not working.
A guest from Leesville, SC - South Carolina recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2015 Love this place. The only thing is the pass few times we've stayed the bar and restaurant (Marlin Monroes) had no A/C in the spring & summer, which is completely unacceptable. We love this place because of the bar and grill being right down stairs but once again disappointing they can't seem to fix the A/C system.
Micah W. from Fulton, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2015 We chose Tybee Island and the Beachside Colony for our honeymoon vacation! We very much enjoyed ourselves and were very pleased with our stay. Check in was easy, the condo unit was very spacious and comfortable with a great view (important to us when booking), and we found that Marlin Monroe's ended up being one of our top places to eat - especially because you could eat right off the beach and we didn't find many other restaurants like that. The only small downside I would say was we wished our balcony chairs were more comfortable. We liked the height, but just the seat was hard and didn't allow us to sit on the balcony as comfortably as we would have liked. But I would still highly recommend the condo!!
Nancy B. from Elberton, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2015 Beachside Colony is a great location for all ages. The members in our family vacay ranged from ages 2 to 82. The property is in easy walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. There are 3 pools on location as well as a restaurant. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. We have been staying here for about 6 years and we love it.
Bethany H. from Gaithersburg, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2015 We had such a great time! As newlyweds, it was the perfect destination for a honeymoon: quiet and relaxing, while also having just enough activities for us to do! The rental was a HUGE part of this experience! Our condo was exactly what we needed: a cool place to relax, watch late-night movies, ride out the storms on the balcony, and pack simple meals to take with us to the beach. We LOVED Marlin Monroe's, LOVED hanging out by the pool, and LOVED the welcome we got upon arrival. We will CERTAINLY return one day!A few things to take note of/fix: -Kitchen Dishes & Such: the kitchen isn't stocked well enough for more than simple lunches and breakfasts. If we had wanted to stay in and cook for dinner, we would not have had what we needed. As people who enjoy cooking, this was a let down.-Closet hangers: Why aren't there any? We had to pile our coats & jackets on the chair, and I had to fold my dresses into the drawers.-DVD player: It's not a very good one. I understand this culture is more about streaming than bringing physical movies on vacation with you, but for that very reason, a good DVD player isn't a huge expense anymore. Should be an easy fix.-Vacuum: Not an essential, but a easy fix to deal with all the sand that gets tracked in. They make chargeable Swiffer Vacuums (like dust busters) that would be PERFECT for all the tile.-Signage: I think it took us at least 15 minutes to figure out how to get to the pool/beach from our condo. Walking through the parking garage to get there is a little weird, but we understand. Better signage would do the trick! :)Let me be clear, however, that none of these things made us unhappy with our stay. Just a little puzzled when noticing things. We LOVED this condo, and we LOVED renting through Beachside Colony. After taking a walk to the other end of Tybee, we have no doubt that when we return, this is where we will DEFIANTLY stay! :)
Deadre S. from Milledgeville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in October, 2014 My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our stay. The room was awesome. Like home away from home. Expensive but its clean and alot of space.
A guest from Flowery Branch, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2014 This is our second stay at Beachside Colony and our third stop here. We love it here! We have vacationed in Panama City Beach for forty years, at times three and four times per year. We live closer to Tybee but have never been there in that forty year period. By accident we found Marlin Monroe's, a beachside restaurant located within the Beach Colony complex. That inspired us to take a look at the condo's. Even though the condo's are much older than the high-rises in PCB, we loved them. Short walk to the pool, beach and even to local restaurants. The employees at Beach Colony are outstanding. We vacationed there this summer and will be back next year. This is our new vacation destination that is within driving distance. If there is a negative, it would be the trouble it takes to have issues repaired in the condo's. The Beach Colony employees need approval from the owners to do the repairs and on our last stay the ceiling fan never was repaired. Not big deal except that the bedroom where the fan was was at the front end of the condo and we needed to turn the air way down and it was still hot. There are not many negatives and they are so small it is not important to mention. Marlin Monroe's is a great place to eat on the beach and the best part is that it is right beside the pool. Just step in with your bathing suit on. No dress up necessary. Like I said, a Diamond In the Ruff. We will be back again and again.
A guest from Asheville, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 We were a little surprised to walk in to the smell of stale was pretty strong for the first day or two. Other than that, there were a few maintenance things, but overall we did enjoy the stay. Tybee folks are nice people!
A guest from Knoxville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 Amazing view, I would stay here again for sure! The bed was very comfortable and the shower was awesome. My only complaint would be the temp of the fridge/freezer. The food stayed lukewarm and we only got about 5 cubes of ice a day.
A guest from Macon, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 We had a wonderful time. Our vacation was full of fun & much needed relaxation. The Beachside Colony was nice, clean and a great atmosphere. The condo we stayed in was spacious & comfortable. It was a great place to spend our vacation.
susan a. from shadyside, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2014 we love Tybee. We were there 5 yrs ago for destination wedding. back this year. our condo was great - #136. clean and well furnished. staff was very friendly. only problem was no chairs on our balcony. would recommend to others. the hallways outside the condo were a little dirty - could use a little TLC.
A guest from Knoxville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2014 Beautiful beach view. The condo needs new furniture. The couch and chairs were worn out. There was only one chair on the patio but the condo will hold four. The disposal did not work and the management could not give me a time they could repair it and we did not want someone in condo when we were out due to us taking a small dog. The pools are tiny. They are smaller than most personal pools and one of them is a baby pool. I did not agree with management not letting us take coolers to the pool. The beautiful ocean view compensated for the majority of the other issues.
A guest from Clayton, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 Took our 5 yr old grandson and he loved it, as did we. Condo was as described. Would recommend wearing slippers, as the floors make your feet black - not anyone's fault, as the sand gets into the grout and can't be helped. Make sure to visit the Crab Shack - entertaining and great food.
Mary M. from Batesville, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2014 The resort is wonderful and the Pam the Manager is awesome to deal with.the unit 136 had a few maintenance problems and was not very clean ,however I have stayed in other units and they were clean and beautiful. I would stay again and again we loved it.
Christina R. from Crestwood, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 For the most part, our stay was very nice. There were a couple of things I felt needed to be mentioned. The website states this unit sleeps 4 and has wi-fi. The unit did not have wi-fi, therefore, looking up local eateries was not an option for my ipad. While the website states the unit sleeps 4, there were only 3 towels. We had 4 people. We had to request a broom since there was no broom in the unit. I would suggest one thing. The door is very easily opened by little ones. I would suggest some sort of chain lock out of reach of 2 or 3 year olds. Too easy for them to open the doors. Other than that, loved the location and the view.
April D. from Augusta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 The management was very patient and helpful. We encountered 1 person during our stay that was not so nice and he worked at the adjoining restaurant. The cleaning staff was also nice although there were some tell-tale signs that the cleaning was rushed through, though nothing unacceptable. I would definately recommend the Beachside Colony to a friend.
James and Christina B. from Whitehouse Station, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in February, 2013 Our seven visits to Beachside Colony has been great. We were treated very well, the staff was great,we plan to return next year. We love Tybee Island, the view of the ocean from our balcony, the walks on the beach, the walks down Butler Ave,visits to the lighthouse, and many more attractions. We had a wonderfull Vacation, Jim & Kay Benson
Rebecca W. from Stevens Point, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2012 The condo was more than expected! The views are amazing and so close to the beach! The bed was super comfy and it felt really homey! On the downside, there was no wifi and that was really unfortunate. We had a little SNAFU after the first night because we were told we could have the room for two nights, and that morning we were kicked out because someone rented the room during the night on the internet. We were never offered a different room. After packing up and driving around Tybee looking for a new hotel, we called Beachside and asked if they had an open room, and they did, so we ended up going back and staying in a different room (this room). Other than that, staff was very professional and helpful! They were great! Will definitely stay again and again! It's a great little getaway with all the comforts of home!
Angela M. from Corydon, Indiana recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2012 This was one of many times I have stayed on Tybee at beach side. The property is nice and well located. This particular condo was clean and nicely decorated. My only complaint is that is on the street side and the noise from the street early in the morning is not pleasant. Prefer the ocean side units.
Theresa W. from Rogers, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 My husband and I were taking a long road trip to Savannah, Tybee Island and then back home to Arkansas via the Blue Ridge Parkway. After one night in Savannah, we thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing two night stay in Tybee. We visited the beach, Fort Pulaski and the Crab Shack for dinner. We had a wonderful time.
