Beautiful cabin with honest review Janettee C. from Lavalette, WV recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in April, 2016 Our check in was for 3pm and planned our trip based on that. Upon arrival cabin was wide open and not cleaned. Called and after several calls and waiting confirmed would not be ready to later. Finally got a call cabin was ready around 7pm. Upon getting there found the hot tub was at 68 degrees. Had planned all day on relaxing in it. Had to turn it up and wait till following evening.

Nice place Tammy K. from Lumber Bridge, NC recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in February, 2016 We had a good time. The hot tub didnt heat up the first night so we couldnt use it , too cold . The bath tub was a little dirty , there was black hair in it and the back light wouldnt come on by the hot tub so it was very dark and kind of scary when we did get in the hot tub the next night. There was no can opener and we had to go back to the store and bought one , I think we left it there for the next person .. I will be going back . Hopefully its a little cleaner and the hot tub is working on my next trip.
Beautiful Views with a Mile High BUT Lack of Attentio Marie K. from Saint Louis, MO recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in December, 2015 Our over all experience with this cabin and Elks Springs Resort was good. The location and design of the cabin was excately what we had expected. However I was disappointed in the level of cleaning and maintanance that was NOT given to the cabin. The widows were extremely dirty, part of the roof was not secured down, missing screens from windows, outdoor lights by hot tub not working, light bulbs not working in inside lights, NO pot holders, front porch light top had no screws to hold it on. I felt that these were maintanance issues that should not been over looked. I also could tell that the cleaning crew also did just the minimal to get by. I found a child's ring pop next to a chair in the living room that should have been found when the floor was vacuumed. I also had to sweep off the leaves under the steps to the hot tub before we used it.

Great but very hard to get to Stephany H. from Bloomington, IL does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 2 days in November, 2015 The cabin was beautiful and clean. I have 2 issues. It is very difficult to find and get to. It was much further out then we expected. Also the water pressure for the shower was very low. Other than that everything else was wonderful.

Nice Getaway Surya V. from Cumming, GA recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in October, 2015 Overall everything was good. One of the main reasons to get this versus other was the hot tub. I dont understand why these guys lock it in at 104F, even that keeps dropping. I understand that there may be safety concerns opening it up, but I wish the hot tub was a little warmer.batteries in remote were almost dying.
Perfect cabin for the holiday weekend! A guest from Richmond, Kentucky (KY) recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in September, 2015 Spent a wonderful Labor Day holiday in "A Slice of Heaven" cabin. This was a spacious, immaculately clean unit that included everything we were looking for--fantastic view of the mountains, private hot tub, and quiet location away from the bustle of Gatlinburg (although it was only a 10-15 minute drive from the strip). Since it was just me and the hubby, we only needed a one bedroom, but sometimes we like the extra elbow room that comes with a two bedroom cabin. All of the appliances and bathrooms looked brand new and were as clean as they could be. Even though the pictures online don't show it, the living room now has a 40-50" flat screen TV (yea)...perfect for watching the football games on Direct TV. Had a small problem with some noisy neighbors across the street (in a cabin not managed by Elk Creek Resorts), but that was taken care of quickly and Elk Creek called to apologize the very next morning. We will definitely be going back to this cabin in future months. Already thinking about a late fall hiking trip!
A Slice of Heaven it is! Amazing View will not disappoint! A guest from Delmar, DE recommends this property.
Stayed for 6 days in July, 2015 On first impression, the road to the cabin is a true mountain road but manageable. Don't depend on your GPS, make sure you have the directions Elk Springs provides. It is about 15 min. from Gatlinburg and about 20 min. to Pigeon Forge. The cabin is older, in need of some outside TLC, obviously no one cleaned up the outside deck area. There were wasps nests and cob web galore We bought a can of wasp spray the first day. But the cabin inside was very clean. The cleaning company did a fabulous job, it was spotless! Our family of 4 enjoyed it so much we considered reserving it for a few more extra days. Stocked well, tv, internet, appliances...everything in descent working order. We had a very bad day of severe storms and a tree snapped off in the driveway. Elk Resorts took care of it immediately and everyone was friendly and responsive from booking to check-out, very easy process. This was our 4th time staying in the area and I would recommend this company and this cabin. The best part, the view! The view of the mountains is breathtaking. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck every day and took in the view every chance we got! Beautiful! We stayed July 2015. My husband, kids, and myself felt at home here.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hello Carla, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay at A Slice Of Heaven. We have found that GPS does not work very well in this area and we email very detailed driving directions to each guest prior to your arrival. We are glad you took our advice and followed them! On a good note, we haven't lost a guest yet. The views from this cabin are pretty amazing. We apologize about the wasps and cob webs on the outside deck, which literally can pop up overnight. We can assure you that they have sprayed and swept to remove these insects and they won't be a problem in the future. We hope you take advantage of our 10% repeat guest discount on your next booking with Elk Springs Resort!

Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 A great 2 bedroom cabin tucked away in the mountains of East Tennessee, convient enough to be in pigeon forge or gatlinburg in about 15 minutes, the cabin was very charming and we will definitely stay with elk river resorts again.

Stayed for 2 days in June, 2015 Great cabin loved the location clean and tidy inside. However hot tub disappointing old and tired only two jets working with very little power?? the porch furniture was ok but had to be cleaned down before use. Having said that we still had a great time.
A Slice of Heaven - weekend stay A guest from Adams, TN recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in April, 2015 We had a great weekend. It was a weekend with family and we enjoyed it immensely and have talked about coming back. The cabin was great, the view spectacular. We had to call maintenance out 2 times, once for the Hot Tub's jets not working, which was the only disappointment of the cabin. The other call was because some how the water breaker tripped. We came back from a day in town to having no water. Maintenance was there both times in much less time then they said it would take. They were able to turn the water on. The Hot Tub was not fixable and again, that is my only complaint. We are looking forward to coming back and if we are a small group would take A Slice of Heaven again, because it was one.

Stayed for 2 days in December, 2014 Celebrated my sons 8th birthday in the mountains. The kids (8 and 10) were blown away! They said it was better than playstation!! A slice of heaven was very nice and well equipped for the family. Would definitely recommend.
Perfect weekend getaway A guest from Alexandria, VA recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in November, 2014 You know a vacation is a winner when you're already planning next year's visit within five minutes of being there. Everything was prepared for us before we arrived, easily located, and we had no issues during our stay. The cabin had a clean, homey feel, while being the perfect mix of isolation and luxury. I cannot say enough about the front wall of windows, to include the view and sunlight throughout the day. What a way to wake up in the morning from the loft, with a straight view out onto the mountains. We could easily find places to hike from this location and the attractions and restaurants of Pigeon Forge were a short drive away.
A beautiful cabin with a great view. A guest from York, SC recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in November, 2014 Overall, the cabin was beautiful and nicely decorated. The location is nice and secluded with a great view. The room situation is a little unique as the downstairs room did not have a private bathroom and was a shared bathroom for all guests. The loft bedroom upstairs had it's own bathroom but I don't really consider it a bedroom as there is minimal privacy. This is not ideal for two couples but great for a family with kids that can share that space. There was a very nice, large TV in the living room but the bedroom TVs need to be updated, especially for this being a "luxury" cabin. The cabin was well stocked with all you would need to cook and eat in. The location is nice. If traveling in inclement weather you will need 4WD.
NOT A HAPPY CAMPER A guest from Philadelphia, MS does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 3 days in October, 2014 The first night we were there we had problems with the plumbing. It was making loud noises and shaking the toilet. We called maintenance and they sent someone out around 10:30 p.m. He made up a tall tale that we had a bear scratching on the post. We knew better. It lasted all night!! We called again the next morning and they sent another guy out and he agreed that it was a plumbing issue and would try to get fixed the next day because he had no help that day. So we were up again another night. The next day we went to Cataloochee and had no phone service, maintenance left voicemail and it wasn't fixed that day either. We were up again another night! So I think its easy to say we were dissatisfied with Elk Resort!
I am DEFINITELY coming back! Heath C. from Peoria, Illinois recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 The pictures of the cabin definitely did the view justice-this really was the main reason we came-for the view! Keep up the good work over there :)
Heavenly Experience A guest from Naperville, IL recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 We had a 2 day getaway to the Smokies and chose Slice of Heaven for our stay. Very cozy, neat, and furnished, cabin 15 minutes from Gatlinburg. The hot tub was a blast with the kids. Try to check-in during day time to get an idea of the roads leading into the cabin. At night there are no lights on the roads and GPS does not work. Fortunately our iPhone came in very handy to navigate at night. We had a very relaxing time at the cabin with a great view of the mountain. The kids enjoyed hiking and the fun activities at Gatlinburg and Pegion Forge.
A Slice of Heaven A guest from Selmer, TN recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in February, 2014 Had an issue with the door code that was resolved very promptly. The beds were left undone with comforters piled on the bed. I was prepared with my own linens thankfully. After a good lysol spray and my fresh linens we were good to go.
Great place to stay Deon M. from HUntington, WV recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in February, 2014 This cabin was great. It was very clean and quiet. The cabin is sort of hard to find and you will feel lost at first. There was free wifi and dish available.
A Slice of Heaven Indeed Thomas E. from Virginia Beach, VA recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in November, 2013 Had one issue, the access code to get into the cabin did not work causing a delay in accessing the property.
Beautiful Cabin A guest from Lesage, WV recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 Stayed here for a recent girls' trip and it was beautiful. The only issue we had were the lights on the back porch by the hot tub were burnt out. I called to get them fixed and they were not. Other than that, no issues, great directions emailed to me, and cabin looked new.
Little Cabin on a hill Brad A. from McKenzie, TN recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in October, 2013 The cabin was very nice and clean. The view from the cabin was awesome and I would stay here again.
A slice of heaven Mary C. from Medway, MA recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in September, 2013 I was with mary cenedella and the house was very nice. The towels were rough and too small. The sheets were ok the pillows were old and need to be replaced. The king size pillows had two standard pillow cases put together to cover the pillow, not too classy for such a nice house. The tvs need to be replaced and get with the times such as a flat screen. There was also a stray cat that kept trying to get into the house and my friend is very afraid of cats. The view was very nice. Thank you my name is JoAnn MacCready from Medfield. And you can display it.
Great Place to Stay but a bit away from town. Todd B. from Mason, OH recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 We enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was nice and clean and everything was in good working condition. The hot tub was turned up a little too high for the summertime temperatures. This place was very nice, but it was a bit of a drive away from town and the view was just OK. Nothing special about the view. We've stayed at other cabins with better views.
Cabin in the clouds Lisandro V. from Miami, FL recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 Very nice cabin in a secluded place away from the mess of commercial horrible Gatlinburg but close to the Art Community, a really beatifull community. The Cabin is not the newest from ELK but it's in great shape, clean and very comfortable. Recommended!!!
looking forward to your reaction Justus V. from St Petersburg, FL recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 First 6 days internet was miserable. Bed sheets and blankets (NOT EVEN ENOUGH FOR 6) were a disgrace more so were the two extra beds where springs came out of the mattresses and were too small for a normal sized person to sleep in. You advertise a lodge which sleeps 6 but have no decent amenities. Location was however very nice. I believe a refund for these bad beds should be in place.Justus van der LubbeCuracao
A slice of heaven's review. William S. from Hicksville, OH recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 Overall the cabin was very homie and cute. It had a very comfortable and nice layout. The only negatives that I would say there were are the following. Very outdated electronics (TVs DVD players ect) one of the curtains in the living room was stained pretty badly, we found several dead bugs behind one of the beds, & the hot tub did not get hot stayed Luke warm no matter what temp setting we attempted to put it on. Overall it was a nice cabin for my wife & I. We would give it a total of 4 out of five stars. If they were to upgrade the electronics & fix or correct the other small issues it would easily be a 5 star rated cabin.
A wonderful stay A guest from Xenia, OH recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 My family and I stayed at "A Slice of Heaven" for four nights, mid-week, and overall, we had a very relaxing and wonderful time. The cabin was nicely furnished, and pretty much everything worked great. The only minor issues we had were related to the electrical system in the cabin. First, the main floor bedroom circuit breaker had tripped prior to our arrival, so we couldn't watch the TV the first night (the property management personnel came out very quickly the next day and fixed the problem, though). Second, I think all the 3-way switches in the cabin were wired incorrectly, because only one of the two switches would turn the lights on and off, if the other switch was in the "on" position. This was a minor pain for the last person going up the stairs for the night. The view from the front and side decks was gorgeous, and it was so nice to wake up to a mountain view from the loft bedroom. There are two other cabins across the street, but they are at a lower elevation, so they don't interfere with the view of the mountains in the background. The cabin is very secluded, which is great if you just want to get away from it all, but if you are hoping to go out to eat every night, just keep in mind that there is about a 15-20 minute drive to the closest restaurant (i.e., McDonalds). We ended up stocking up the kitchen with food for the week, and grilled out in the charcoal grill that is provided.
