Casa Del Bosque (House of the Forest) is situated in Guanacaste’s premier environmental community, Tierra Pacifica.
It is located within walking distance of Playa Junquillal and is near the end of a paved road providing quick access to Santa Cruz or the international airport in Liberia.
The home sits on an oversized lot surrounded by green areas. Trails from two corners of the property will lead you to the beach access or to the extensive club house which has cascading pools, a modern fitness facility, tennis court and hot tub. Morning Yoga and Zumba are offered twice a week in the club yoga room. Mile of trails will thrill even the most avid hiker. In fact, one third of the community is designated as green zones which provide an unparalleled experience with nature. Coffee with Monkeys is almost a daily occurrence.
There is a beach nearby for every occasion. Playa Junquillal, a blue flag beach, is a few minutes away and is one of the longest volcanic sand beaches in Costa Rica. It is incredible for walks, and has a coveted surf break at high tide. Playa Avellenas and the famous Playa Negra, featured in endless summer II, are ten minutes up the road. Playa Blanca, a quintessential white sandy beach, is moments away for snorkeling.
Our home is newly constructed with 3 bedrooms, 2 (1/2) baths, and an artistically tiled outside shower for after the beach. The large cooks’ kitchen has custom teak cabinets complimented by Italian granite counter tops, an island, 2 sinks, and stainless steel appliances and is the hub of the home. The main terrace, dining room, and screened living room radiate out from the kitchen. Upstairs is the owner’s suite with a bedroom(a/c), screened yoga room, full bath, and the “get away” room, a smaller room with a day bed and flat screen TV(a/c) for a cool afternoon movie.
The guest suite is off the main 30 foot terrace and includes a/c, teak bed, and luxury bathroom.
All beds and mattresses are of the highest quality providing the best possible sleep after your day in paradise. An ample laundry room with washer and dryer and ½ bath is just inside from the outdoor shower and gardens.
The home was designed to integrate with the outside environment and the natural surroundings. Windows and doors were designed to capture sight lines and cross breezes. Consequently the home remains cool and comfortable throughout the year.
A short walk from the home you can be at the Tierra Pacifica commercial center where you will find a grocery store, Amigo’s restaurant, a doctor, and the local veterinary clinic. There are many amazing restaurants nearby ranging from typical Costa Rican dishes to French cuisine. Please respect and enjoy Costa Rica’s natural resources and radiant people!

Review #6401032 Amazing Vacation!
AMAZING vacation. The house was the perfect home base for our 2-week stay in Costa Rica. We were greeted with some wonderful welcome gifts – fresh fruit and snacks – perfect after our long journey there. Beautiful accommodations, comfortable beds, perfect kitchen – we loved everything about it. My favorite aspect of the house was the screened in porch, where we finished our evenings listening to the beautiful night sounds of Costa Rica, sometimes even lucky enough to fall asleep to the sound of a storm. The house provided luxury accommodations in the middle of nature – the perfect combination. Club Arbol was incredible – the pictures don’t even do it justice. The pool is three levels – kids’ pool, main pool with infinity edge and lap pool, plus a covered area with a table/seats built into the pool where you can enjoy drinks. And – of course – a giant hot tub. We spent every evening in the pool night swimming and watching the bats dine on mosquitoes – very cool. It was hard to get my 4-year-old son to leave each night. You can also have them set up the grill to use, so you can dine poolside. There is also a fitness center located right next to the pool – very convenient. Kim and her property managers Brenda/Brian were so incredibly helpful. They were constantly available to answer our questions and provided so many great tips – including dining recommendations for Villa Deveena (a Michelin quality meal - don't miss it!). They even provided beach towels for us so we didn’t have to pack them. As for the country – I can’t say enough about it. We explored many of the beaches – Playa Conchal being our favorite. Also, we visited Rincon de la Vieja – for fewer than $20, we were able to do an amazing hike, swim under a waterfall and see the many boiling pots surrounding the volcano. Such a cool adventure. We also loved just stopping in the sodas and markets to check out local offerings and meet new people. Thank you Kim for sharing your amazing home! It was so hard to leave, but hope to come back someday.
