The apartment is situated in a quiet street close to the city's western centre and about 150 m from Savignyplatz S-Bahn station, itself one short stop from Bahnhof Zoo and four from Berlin main station. The building has a central courtyard in the classical Berlin style and was built around 1900. The apartment is on the 3rd floor of the quiet side section overlooking the courtyard.
The stripped wooden floorboards have been treated with organic hard oil (a natural alternative to varnish). The bathroom (with bath and shower) and the fully equipped kitchen (which includes a dining corner) have been fully renovated.
The large living room includes a dining table seating 6, a sitting area with TV, stereo, sofa and easy chairs and a separate bedroom area with two single beds. The bedroom has a double bed and TV. The bathroom contains a bath with shower. The fully equipped kitchen includes dishwasher, washer/dryer and cooker with ceramic hob. The apartment is surrounded by a huge variety of restaurants and cafes and a similarly wide range of unusual shops large and small, new and old. Savignyplatz, for example, has long been known for its excellent selection of antique book shops. Kurfürstendamm, the western city's famous boulevard, is only a few minutes walk away.
For decades already, Savignyplatz square has been known for its excellent supply of antique book shops. Very close to the square there is "Stilwerk", an extended centre of designer shops (furniture, accessories) , and a few more steps eastward you'll find two theatres showing exciting performances: "Theater des Westens" and "Vagantenbühne". "Bahnhof Zoo" is the next stop, and within 10 minutes you are at Berlin main station and in the middle of the eastern centre with all its classical attractions (Brandenburger Tor, Museum island etc.).
