Our Blue Parrot Beach House sits on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. It is the #1 house we have for ocean views as it is perched as close as you can be.
With a lovely color, Blue Parrot Beach House looks directly at the Atlantic Ocean. From the windows and sliders, Watch the sun rise (and dolphins cavort) at dawn over the ocean. The views are absolutely unbelievable! And you can enjoy them from slider doors and windows -- you'll have such fun exploring all the unique spaces in this house.
Inside, Blue Parrot retains the feel of a beloved old home, yet contains updated fittings and furnishings. On the 2nd level is the living room, dining and kitchen area.
The living room is laid back and welcoming, with ultra-comfortable sofas, and a new HDTV. Doors lead out to the patio. It's the kind of space you immediately feel at home in, and you may find yourself settling down to gaze out at the ocean without even unpacking. You're home!
Between the living room and the kitchen is a sun-filled dining area with a table and great ocean views. This is clearly Family Central, the nerve center for everything from the laptop (you have free wireless Internet at Blue Parrot) to heated games of Go Fish. Station the camera and binoculars here; there will always be someone around to grab them when exciting things occur!
The kitchen at Blue Parrot is thoroughly functional with the space you need for food and drink. You'll find everything here to prepare and serve meals, plus time-savers such as a microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, and blender. There is also a breafast bar with 4 stools for casual dining.
When it's time to retire for the night, you have many choices. On the 2nd floor is the master bedroom with queen bed. Also on the 2nd floor is a kids room with 2 twin beds. Acting as our 3rd bedroom is a loft above the 2nd floor. Accessible by a spiral staircase, this cozy loft has a full sized mattress.
But, the fun has only begun. Climb the spiral stairs to the 1st floor and find a wonderful multi-purpose entertainment room with 55" HDTV, game system and queen sleeper bed. There is also a ping pong table.
The 2nd floor living room features a 37" HDTV, DVD player and receiver.
Blue Parrot is in Summer Haven, an historical area that is quickly vanishing. It's very close to Fort Matanzas, and is just 15 minutes from St. Augustine, the oldest city in the nation. The beach is quiet here, with plenty of wildlife and no traffic or crowds. Come stay in this beautiful spot before it is changed forever!

It was on a very quiet section of beach, and the views were amazing! We saw dolphins daily, and watched a live starfish bury itself in the sand. The house itself was okay, although under the beds and couches were filthy, and there were crumbs in the couch cushions. We would come back to this house for the beach and the views more than anything! Great stay A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2013 This is an amazing house on a beautiful spot of beach just south of Matanzas inlet. It is a jewel for those who love surfing and paddleboarding. The house was rustic yet clean and had all the accommodations we needed for a week. The kids loved the loft and downstairs game room. The adults loved the open living room/kitchen/deck that open up to the ocean. The management company was very responsive to our few requests at the beginning of the stay.. needed to know what gaming system it had(xbox 360) and access codes to the stairs and outdoor shower. Almost hesitant to make this review too good so that the house is still available the next time we want to rent it. Thank you for a great spring break! Blue parret A guest from Oakville, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 35 days in February, 2013 The view was wonderful. The wild life (including an eagle on the last day) was great. Even saw some dolphins.The location in some cases was wonderful...view and quiet. We did find we were doing a lot of driving to amenities. The St Augustine area was very interesting. The place was just fine. Some dishes.(hanging glasses) and under the beds were not clean, however that was just minor. Overall the place was very clean. For the most part, it was just the two of us so it was more than adequate. I would not really agree with the sleeps 10. It would be one big bedroom if that was the case. Oceanfront Base of Operations A guest from Dublin, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2012 We had a wonderful visit to the Blue Parrot house at the end of 2012/beginning of 2013. The house is right on the ocean with its own steps to the beach. It's very comfortable and had features that were perfect for us. My 15-year old son loved that it had its own x-box and connected large flat screen TV in the basement rec room. My wife and I loved the large deck facing the ocean. We used the house as our base for trips into St. Augustine, to Universal Studios in Orlando, and to the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville.The management company excelled in two ways. First, when we got there, the gate across the steps from the house to the beach had a padlock on it. We left an email for the management company asking if there was a key somewhere. They quickly emailed back and called saying they didn't know why the gate was locked and would have the lock removed. Shortly thereafter, we went to lunch and when we came back, the lock was gone. Second, the website had indicated that there was a gaming console in the rec room, be we wanted to know which kind. Signficant efforts were made by the management company to find out and on the morning we were leaving, the company was able to get us a very helpful answer.My only very small criticism is that the wifi in the house was not terribly strong and would briefly fade out completely at times. For those wanted to be "disconnected" not a problem, but I needed reliable Internet access while I was there, so this was a modest, slight irritant.Overall, a great house, well-located, well-maintained, and extremely comfortable.
