Needs a good cleaning Mary S. from High Point, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2012 Wonderful beach front condo; too bad it was so filthy and in disrepair. I do have to say that when we needed something repaired someone came over right away to take care of the problem. A lot of road noise but that can't be helped because it is on the main highway.Now on to the good stuff:It was so nice to sit out on the veranda on the ocean sipping coffee while watching the sun rise. Long walks on the beach where fantastic and was nice to come back to the condo for a snack and then right back to the beach again. The condo is right on the beach where you can listen to the waves and smile and just enjoy. Great Location - In Need of an Update A guest from CUMMING, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 The town house was in a great convenient location. Right on the beach, which was fantastic, close to the grocery store and St Augustine. However, basics, updates and maintenance is really needed. The kitchen was not stocked well to cook for my family of 6; it was lacking some of the basics like measuring cups, a large pot for spaghetti, 13x9 baking pan, cookie sheets. The master bed felt like it was 20+ years old, sheets were poor quality material. Water pressure in the showers was not that great. Also, the tub in the master bath leaked and would not drain properly--yuck. It even started to leak through the floor into the family room below. We called for maintenance on the first day, but no one ever showed up. Finally, the washer & dryer were in the garage--which is not a problem, however, it was just dingy, dusty and dirty down there--it should be included on the housekeeping list. Exposed wires on the outside and water stains on every ceiling. It is apparent that neither the property manager nor the owner are willing to make even the most modest investment in this property. Even the coffee maker did not work. We expected some at least reasonable accomodations based upon the rental rate. Live and learn. We will avoid VacationRentalPros in the future. But overall, it was in pretty good shape for a rental property, and it was close to St. Augustine and on a nice beach. Lovely views from all the rooms.My real complaint is that since coming back, I have been getting spam from the rental company to rent more properties, and I cannot get off their mailing list. So my warning to you: use a throw-away email address with them, because they will not respect your unsubscribe. I won't rent from the company again based on just that, even though the house was fine. Paint peeling, dirty carpet,dirty ceiling fan, yard filled with trash, furniture extremely worn, tub drains clogged, round toilet seat on oval toilet, filthy throw rugs, had to buy a sharp knife, frying pan with lid can opener didnt work. Bare wires where deck lights should be, mildew on blinds and water marks from leaks everywhere. Would be a nice place if fixed up. It was difficult to open key lock in the dark. A light should have been left on. It was a condo NOT a house and it had many stairs. The coffee pot filter holder was crooked=didn't drip coffee thru well. Had to get neighbor help up set up the TV, later even when I put new batteries in it, didn't always work.Used jacuzzi once last night jets not conntrollable went all over the bathroom, took lenghthy time to fill 1/4 full, then couldn't drain water out.Liked the retaurant tips, Aunt Kate's and Caps close by THE BEST. Loved our view but water came in the master bedroom and the living room with the nor'eastern.Would recommend with fixing things as stated. great location A guest from Mountaintop, Pennsylvania recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2011 If you are a perfectionist, this place is not for you. If you are looking for a place to sleep after a great day at the beach, which is steps away, then this place is for you! For those that are picky, The place had some water stains on the ceilings, the fridge didn't keep stuff really cold and the washer and dryer are in need if an upgrade. Make sure you lay a towel down on the floor when using the "captains quarters" master bedroom bathtub/shower and the blinds to the balcony were old and a little tricky to use. Everyone else, the place is steps away from a very private beach, the views are amazing (especially from the private balcony)and the beds were really comfortable! The place was clean and the towels and linens were were clean and smelled great! This is a pet friendly rental and you can not tell that pets stayed in this unit, no smells or pet stains! Our dog was very relaxed in this home.Many games, dvd player and directv if you did have a rain day (which we did not)There is a Winn Dixie(groceries) approx 7 minutes away and Old Town St. Augustine is approx 2-3 miles (just over the bridge) Some excellent restaurants are within miles of the rental. Our favorite was Caps on the Water, excellent waterfront seating for sunset! When my family goes to the beach we are more concerned with the location as we spend the most amount of time on the beach not in the house, we were very satisfied with this rental property and would recommened this place to family and friends who are not looking for perfection and just looking for a great place to stay, great location, great views and a wonderful family vacation!! The door downstairs needs work as it doesn't shut properly and there could be a few more kitchen items but over all a WONDERFUL place. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2011 carpets were pretty dirty, could use a good clean.great location. could use more basics, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags. trash cans outside were completely full when we arrived. Great Location; Lousy Property A guest from Santa Fe, NM does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in May, 2011 This property looks nothing like the publicity shots. The building is old, run down, and dirty. Water leak stains on the ceiling. Broken screen doors. Broken veranda gate. Dirty linens, with no replacement linens available. Torn lampshades. Chipped toilet seats. Dirty windows. No spare toilet rolls. Broken rocking chair...oh well, the location and view are spectacular...and the housekeeping manager Arcadio was embarassed with the condition of the place, but helpful with new linens, and a new toilet seat. I expected so much better. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2011 overall the place was great for a family and kids. i would recommend going around the condo and checking for lights that work and ones that dont. i would recommend some lighting on the outside decks for the evening. Wonderful Ocean Stay Joan S. from Edmond, Oklahoma recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2011 The Condo was very nice. My goal was to hear the ocean and you could see it, hear it regardless of weather due to the location on the beach and the wonderful atrium and the master bedroom with a window to the sea! Hear the surf was relaxing, healing and therapeutic. The Condo was nice, the beds comfortable and in easy distances to where I wanted to go. A few more kitchen items would be nice for those who want to cook in instead of eat out. Other than was a PERFECT STAY! Dirty and updated Alicja F. from Carmel, IN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2010 It needs some job. All furniture, floors windows etc are old, updated and dirty dirty. For the money we have paid I would expect better standart. I loved the location though. Room With A View Ginger S. from Johns Creek, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2010 How wonderful to stay oceanfront and enjoy the fabulous beach views 24/7! Vilano Beach is beautiful and the waves bring lovely shells with each tidal change. Our gang enjoyed surfing right outside the condo door. Super convenient location with downtown St. Augustine only a few miles away. Recommendations: replace broken table and all deck chairs, repair lock on sliding glass door, caulk and regrout the tile surrounding the master shower and tub as it is leaking through to the ceiling of the living room, and spray for scorpions upstairs and ants in the kitchen.
