Condo on Sugar Beach
Ian H. from Victoria, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2015 We stayed in the Kihei Kai Condo #14 to celebrate my retirement. We chose this place because of the location (right on the beach) and the price. Booking with Rentals Maui Inc. was very easy. They were professional and prompt. We arrived in Maui quite late but found the condo no problem with the directions that had been sent to us. Everything was as expected and ready for us. The condo, although older, was clean and comfortable. The king bed was very comfortable and the condo had everything we needed, well equipped kitchen, guide books, beach chairs, umbrella, even access to Netflix. Location was great, steps away from a great beach. The complex had a nice group area with BBQs and lots of chairs overlooking the beach. Other residents were nice and the caretakers, Ron and Paula were great. We felt right at home. During our stay we did the typical Maui things, the road to Hana, snorkeling, even a Luau at the Grand Wailea (bought at a reduced price at Costco). One of our favourite activities was watching the sunsets with the rest of the Kihei Kai residents. We'll definitely be back.
Kihei Kai # 14 condo offers a more old style Kihei experience
A guest from Kamuela, Hawaii recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2015 Beach walking is peaceful and mostly quiet with sounds of the ocean waves as you sleep. Abc store and farmers market within walking distance. Great if you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of Kihei town. Unit is clean with a vintage kick. Parking is stress free. Nice wildlife sanctuary nearby for walking and exploring. Close to boat activities at Ma'alaea. Very relaxing. Wish I could have stayed longer. The only concern I had was the railing on the lanai. I felt it could be upgraded to be code. You must be careful of small children slipping through pickets. I think that is why they ask you is you have children when filling out rental questioner. Surf spot to the right is cool and kayaking is fun when there is light wind. Not too good for snorkeling, beach can be a little murky from ponds nearby. We liked it and would recommend it to our friends.
Kate D. from Oswego, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2013 Wonderful condo, wonderful stay. Absolutely beautiful property, gorgeous location. Fantastic price! We will be returning :) such a hidden gem!!!
Reviewed by: John D. recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2013 At only a few condos can you have your coffee sitting on the beach--all alone. No walking across the street just a few doors away. Watching the sand crabs cleaning out their holes and occasionally seeing a turtle swim by just off shore a few feet. Pretty nice.
A guest from Alexandria, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in June, 2013 The unit is nice, but a little outdated and would need some general modernization (carpet, AC, kitchen)and an in-depth cleaning.
A guest from Lake Oswego, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2013 We stayed only 2 nights, en route to another place in the Hana area. In that short time we had several pleasant conversations with residents and staff, and were impressed with how friendly and unpretentious everyone was. The view from the adjacent beach was wonderful and the sandy beach itself was just fine. Only glitch for us was to discover the hard way that there were tiny ants lurking in the kitchen just waiting for the doughnuts we brought home. It was a quick reminder of how one has to make good use of containers that seal, and the refrigerator, in a tropical location. Not really a complaint, just how it is. One of the TV/computer cables had a broken connector, but we figured that out and fortunately there was an extra cable in the cabinet. The unit overall was compact but perfectly adequate for us two. We'd stay there again without hesitation.
