Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in July, 2014 We had a blast at this townhouse! The location is what sold us on renting this home. Being just half a block from the beach was a dream come true. We really felt at home because the rental was fully equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces. The clean space made us feel comfortable and very taken care of by the property rental company. I would have to say our favorite feature of the home was having the outdoor space. being able to sit and relax with a glass of wine on the patio while the sun went down was awesome. It was nice to have the hot tub at our disposal as well. We took advantage of being so close to the beach and also being a few minutes away from La Jolla Village. We were able to enjoy the great restaurants and shops just down the street. We cannot wait to do this again!
A guest from Tucson, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2014 This was a perfect alternative to staying in a hotel. It is more affordable and you get so much more for your money! We enjoyed the outside seating area and the jacuzzi that was shared with the lower unit. The inside was clean and open and all of the couches and bed were very comfortable. The kitchen was such a bonus because it came with everything I needed to cook and prepare meals and lunches to take down to the beach. The beach was just a few minute walk and it was priceless to be able to go back and forth so quickly and as often as we wanted. We loved our experience and would do it again in a heartbeat. It was nice to be able to book this and have such an easy process getting in and out. It made the experience perfect!
Reviewed by: Tracy T. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2014 The first night of our stay was a little rocky, we didn't have any hot water but Tim was very quick in responding to the problem. The property is within walking distance from the beach wich is really nice. Loved that they had beach chairs, boogie boards and beach towels to use. The property is a little hard to find the best way to acess it is thru the ally from La Jolla BLvd. I would recommend this property to a friend.
A guest from Phoenix, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 We enjoyed our stay at the property and our time in La Jolla. We needed to contact the Operations Manager about a few issues and he responded promptly and professionally.
Alicia F. from Las Vegas, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2014 The condo was wonderful to stay in. The ammenities were good overall. The location was excellent. Theere is almost everything that one needs while away from home. Just a heads up no AC so if its really hot watch out. It was only hot one day but with the ocean so near by cooling down was easy. I did recommend the property management get a portable swap cooler/ac for any of those potential hot days. No complaints over all I would stay again. I did contact the property management to confirm the address on my way into town and the condition of the area in general due to the fires. I left messages on this other minor items. Never a single call back or email. The irony is that they were really quick to communicate with me via email and asked me to let them know if I checked out early so they could send the over the cleaning staff. Fortunately the items I had questions on were things I was able to figure out on my own. I'm glad that the people that own the place are the ones that probably care because the property management is completely aloof. So if you're the owner and you're reading this review here are some things to add to your wonderful property to make it even more wonderful: 1. Portable swap cooler Lowes sells the kind that can roll from room to room. 2. In the dining room/kitchen and any windows facing west, put in drapes or roman shades that block the light and insulate against heat or cold. Request house keeping keep these closed on days over 82 degrees. This helps keep the heat out on hot days. 3. Have available broom & mop we had to borrow a broom and had to mop on our hands and knees. (We like to keep clean). 4. Carpets in dining room have a couple of re-occuring stains these need a good steam cleaning.

A guest from Wenatchee, WA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2014 We had a good time. The management was excellent - very accessible and responsive. We were not as pleased with the overall condition of the is older and needs some 'loving care.' The location was excellent and it is a very quiet neighborhood.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2013 This three bedroom is ideal if you are on a budget, but still want to be close to the beach. There was six of us, and this worked perfectly. We were able to surf every day, not have to use our car, and hang out and BBQ every evening. It was awesome to have access to the hot tub as well. Great place.
Peter E. from Coventry, RI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2013 If you're looking for a beach rental in the heart of exclusive La Jolla, this is the place. It's a bit tricky to find and even trickier to park; but, once you walk upstairs, you are greeted with a bright, spacious, kid-friendly atmosphere.
Darin H. from Candler, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2013 This is a great rental home. very quiet neighborhood and close to the beach. Kids enjoyed the beach and short drive to sea world.
A guest from Altadena, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 What a great place!!!! My husband and two kids stayed at this condo and really enjoyed ourselves. Windansea Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen and is literally a half a block away. The condo is very comfortable and spread out with the master bedroom on one side and the other two smaller bedrooms on the other. This worked out perfectly for our family as it allowed the kids to have their own space and us to have ours. The living room is in the middle of the condo and has comfy seating and a large flat screen TV which was perfect for getting the family together and watching our favorite shows. Also, loved the washer and dryer and all the beach towels that are furnished so we didn't have to bring our own.A big plus is the quite little balcony which we used to to sit outside and relax. There is a brand new barbecue grill on the deck which we used quite regularly for afternoon BBQ's and home cooked dinners. There is covered parking which is a big bonus, but the spaces are small so if you have a large car you may not be able to fit.We highly recommend this condo.
Reviewed by: Lisa S. recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2013 We really loved staying at this house. It is very close to the beach and in a cute neighborhood. We did not realize that this house was not right on the street, but rather was on the back of the property - all of the properties in this area seem to be set up like this. Not a big deal, but good to know. The teens were able to go back and forth to the beach, and 7-11, a bagel store and a few other shops are right up the street in the opposite direction. The house was very well-stocked and the bathrooms were nicer than they appeared in the photos. There were boogie boards, beach towels and beach chairs left there to use. The deck is a little rickety in spots, but the grill was brand-new and worked great. Washer and dryer were great to have as well. Having the parking spot in the back sounds nice - until you see the size of the garage. I scraped the side of my rental car the first day. Unless you have a tiny car, park in the front on the street!Property management company was very responsive when working with us on the reservation, and checked in with us during the week to see how everything was.Plenty of room, nice to have TVs in all bedrooms and Netflix on the TVs was great. Overall a great stay!
Ron M. from Carol Stream, IL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 Stayed here from July 27 to August 3, 2013. Not a good property to stay at. Way overpriced at $2750 per week for the condition of this property. Entrance is through a hard to locate and navigate alley in the ghetto area of LaJolla. The alley was one lane and full of potholes and poor patching. Very difficult to find any parking on Nautilus so you have to use the alley entrance. Third bedroom has no window. Is this a code violation? Torn sheets used on bed by the maintenance staff. Carpet is very worn and stained in bedrooms and in dining area. Needs to be replaced. Furniture had to be from Goodwill and needed cleaning. Leftover, non matching quarry tile used in kitchen floor and counter top. Smoke detector had no battery. Broken chair cushion. We had to wash the silverware before use because it was put away dirty. No measuring cups or steak knives, only one dish towel, cracked coffee pot carafe. This was addressed by the property management people and corrected. Outdoor grill would not light. Burn tubes were broken from rust and would not ignite. I guess other renters never used the grill because it would not light. The grill was replaced later. Deck support post was not anchored. Deck and railings were painted over but old paint not scraped. Two parking spots were to be included but one spot was in front of rented handy man's storage facility. The garage would not fit our Ford Escape. We could only get half the car in the garage because of a closet in the garage. No bigger car would fit. Front door would not stay shut unless it was locked. Many homeless going through trash each night because it is a narrow alley. A very noisy location with cars and trucks in the alley. Hotels can be cheaper and better that this property.
Reviewed by: Hugo J. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 You can't beat the location of this home for the value. We searched high and low for affordable three bedroom properties and couldn't find anything that was as close to the beach as this duplex. Plus there is a hot tub, bbq, and deck. The home was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our meals. We loved it here and will definitely be back!
Sheila and Jeff U. from Mississauga, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 This is a great place to stay in La Jolla - very close to the excellent Windansea Beach. The property & kitchen appliances, need some updating, and repairs.
A guest from Chicago, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 This rental worked our perfectly for us. It slept 7 comfotably (there is a queen-sized sleeper sofa). It was much more affordable than paying for two hotel rooms, and we had the bonus of a full kitchen and hot tub. The best part is being able to walk to beautiful windansea beach.
Reviewed by: Hugo J. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2013 We chose this property for it's proximity to Windansea Beach. It was fantastic to be able to walk to the beach every day and not have to get in the car to drive and park each time. We also loved being able to unwind each night in the hot tub. The home was very clean and fit our group quite well. It was more affordable than any hotel in the area and we had lots of space to relax and cook meals in. I highly recommend it!!
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 We booked this for a surf trip to Windansea and other San Diego breaks. There were 6 of us, but this home could have slept 7 of us comfortably. Each room had a TV, plus one in the living room, and we made use of the hot tub daily. It's an awesome location. You can walk right to the beach and that's hard to beat.
A guest from Tucson, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2013 the company was easy to reach on our arrival and during our stay to answer questions. The property was closer to the beach than stated, huge plus. Some of the repairs done to the property were obviously done with cost in mind and would not have been acceptable for my personal home. But, everything worked great, was very clean and we had everything we needed to feel at home. I would use this company and property again.
A guest from Boulder, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2013 Walking distance to wind n sea beach and shops. The only drawback is the outdoor living space. The deck is quite small, with only enough room for a grill and a small dining table. The grill was in good order and clean and the indoor dining area was quite large and comfortable and open to the kitchen for easy family entertaining. The third bedroom does not have a window or closet.
With a bit of attention, could have been much better
A guest from Needham, MA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 28 days in February, 2013 Space and location were good. The property is not maintained. It takes multiple calls to get action. Beds need to be replaced, bending was in very bad condition, Ill fitting, ripped, old and worn. kitchen pots, pans dirty, old and limited. No coffee mugs. Glass entry door to kitchen directly across from bedroom had no window treatment. Would Expect the unit to be very hot in warmer weather, ceiling fans limited no ac. Bad location for our winter rental deck is in dense shade. Lighting is very poor throughout, no reading lamps in bedrooms
Mandy L. from Santa Monica, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2012 This is a quaint duplex just a few minutes walk from the beach. On the surface this looks like a great property but there are a lot of little things that need repair. Nothing major but lots of bumps, rips and little holes in furniture and walls. If this property had a dishwasher I would recommend it as the only disappointment of our stay was having to hand wash for 3 meals a day!
