Isn't she lovely? Isn't she wonderful? Isn't she precious? This beautiful contemporary mountain home reminds me of my favorite Stevie Wonder yes I know the song is about a oh is one great house.
Solitude with like the name and actually it is a fitting title for this lovely mountain home. I, however, might have chosen something like Stimulus Package for this multifaceted three story beauty. Mr. Webster tells us that a stimulus is ?something that incites to action or exertion?. There you go. Many will simply love that this charming home offers an open floor plan where cooks, couch potatoes and fireplace worshipers can all be together. Others will love the separate downstairs family room where kids can congregate for movies and games. Many others will feel the stimulus effect when they discover the large yard with plenty of room for kids to be kids and adults to be-well-kids. SWA is in a lovely setting where kids of all ages can hike, bike, explore and discover. It is only a short walk to the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge, so nature abounds and wildlife share the space. Enjoy the large outdoor hot tub, horseshoe pits, WIFI, cable TV and more. Snowbound Doug B. from Wheeling, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2013 SWA is a great home with many amenities. We loved our stay in Feb. Our pet loved it as well. The location is one of the best in the valley. The kids enjoyed the game room and hot tub. The only down side was the beds. A king and queen size bed, instead of a queen and double would be nice. Overall, a great place to stay. |

Nice Home A guest from Morgantown, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2013 As usual, the staff of Best of Canaan were very professional. Much appreciated these days, as many places do not put the customer first. My only complaint is that the property, although neat and clean, was not spotless. That said, if a property is being professionally cleaned, upon entering one should be able to smell that a variety of cleaning products were recently used. This is the only way guests know that cleaning and disinfecting was done.This grounds of this property are absolutely perfect with a flat open yard and wooded areas which provide privacy. As far as we are concerned...that was money well spent! Thank you. |

Great ski vacation! A guest from Gainesville, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2012 The property is fantastic, can't see a house from any window! Wood fireplace, great hot tub, and very roomy! The only suggestion would be to have a few more cooking utensils and to have a snow shovel! Stayed for 5 days in December, 2012 If the appliances were not worn out, the couches didn't didn't stink (literally), the stove was not unusable, and we had some dishwasher detergent on the first night that we arrived, it would have been perfect.It is a beautiful house, close enough to the ski slopes (about 2 miles away) but far from the traffic. |
