Clean but not stocked well. Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2013 This house was a nice size for our family, and close to everything. We were disappointed, however, with the lack of supplies in the kitchen. We were told that the kitchen was stocked with cookware, and planned meals to be cooked accordingly. It was difficult to cook, however, with a lack of larger pots, pans, baking trays, pot holders, cheese grater, etc. The website advertises a King size bed, but now King size was there. The washer also leaked, and we were asked to put in a load of towels before leaving, but no laundry soap was provided. We had to purchase. |

Great Location, Ok -Home, So-So Property management Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2012 This house is located within close walking distance to Spanish Bay in a quiet residential neighborhood. Huge plus that it's on 17-mile. The house comfortably fit three couples. We stayed over New Years and tried calling the property management company several times to ask about additional cooking utensils (which were minimal a best). Never got through and phone messages were never returned. That said, booking went smoothly and security deposits were returned promptly. Definitely cheapest place we could find in the area for this time of year. There are probably nicer furnished places to stay for comparable price during lower-season times. |

Pick a different place Reviewed by: A guest does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2012 This house isn't really a vacation house. It's a house that's sitting on the market so the owners apparently decided to rent it out for a while. It's extremely dated. The kitchen has the bare minimum to function, but you wouldn't be able to cook or serve a full meal there (no large pots, no serving dishes, the few pots and pans are ancient, no dishtowels???). The bedding is quite old and there were only two extra really old thin comforters (but three bedrooms - the beds didn't have any blankets, just the sheets and bedspreads/thin old comforters). It took us two days to figure out that someone had unscrewed all the lightbulbs in fixture in the dining area, for some unfathomable reason. No outdoor furniture. There is a fountain and a small pond on the property that are not being maintained so there is standing fetid water (the pond was also covered in green scum). All the windows were dirty. Worst of all, there is some kind of pump under the house that makes a loud constant maddening buzzing. It's somehow related to the heat. The only relief we got was to shut off the entire breaker (meaning no heat, so we turned it back on and I slept in a different bedroom bc the noise bothered me the most). I only gave the rental agency two stars even though my dealings with them were fine. A professional rental agency in a place like Pebble really shouldn't be renting a place like this. I've rented houses in many places up and down the coast and my experience is that a professional rental agency will ensure a place is stocked a certain way and in appropriate condition. I thought the reasonable price was because it wasn't near the water or dowtown Carmel but maybe that was the big clue? We have two small children so when we rent vacation places we actually do end up spending a decent part of our day in the house, and this place was a disappointment. |

Unsuitable Rental for Six People Karen A. from Tadworth, Surrey does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2012 The property was in a good location in pebble beach, however it was very rundown. The lights in a number of rooms were not in working order neither were the smoke alarms. The property also needed a good clean as surfaces and furniture were very dusty There was insufficient kitchen equipment (kettle,only 2 small saucepans,1 small frying pan, very limited cutlery,no ovenware) There was no ironing board or iron. If you wanted to sit six people at the dining table you had to use 2 bar stools as there were only 4 dining chairs.There was a nice decking area at the rear of the property but no garden furniture to sit on. The window blind was missing from one of the bedrooms. The Management company took my rental payment twice in error, I was given a refund however it cost me extra due the the change in currency rateS between the time the payment was taken and the refund was made. |

Homey, comfortable, bright and sunny (in PB that's important). We stayed for 5 nights. All the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots and pans. Don't waste your money Reviewed by: Gigi L. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2012 Water heater off and we had to light the pilot light and never really had hot water. I sent a text to property manager and got no response. Was told to text for quicker response? House was dirty and very musty and moldy smelling. I, however, got charge a hefty cleaning fee??? Smoke alarms were beeping due to old bateries needed to be changed?? Spiders everywhere?? Called property management as I thought I should not be charged with cleaning fee and my request was denied!!!!!!! Oh, the house is also for sale! |
