Vacation Home Rental Description:
Just over 14 miles South of Carmel-by-the-Sea and just 10 miles North of Big Sur. Without exaggeration, it is safe to call these the most dramatic ocean views currently available on the west coast. A must see for ocean lovers. This private cabin residence is located just off Highway 1, approximately .3 miles off the highway, no need to worry about traffic noise as the soothing sound of the Pacific Ocean will gently rock you to sleep. The .3 mile private driveway winds down past 2 other homes and is currently the last home on the road (another home is being built further down the road, but it in no way disturbs the impressive view as it is set back and completely away from this home. This cabin has all the amenities you would like, full kitchen, TV & DVD Players with a selection of movies, microwave, bath tub, etc. The house is on it's own Generator and water system and is completely off the grid, so we ask that you conserve water and energy when visiting. If you enjoy all that Big Sur has to offer; including stunning hiking trails, Pfieffer State Beach and Park, beautiful forests and streams, but also like to be close enough to Carmel-by-the-Sea to enjoy fine restaurants, the best shopping and the beautiful white sands of Carmel Beach, this home is for you. Rustic on the outside and finely appointed on the inside this cabin has housed writers, celebrities, politicians (don't hold that against us), singers, and a myriad of the who's who of the business world. Completely off the grid with its own generator (propane fed) and water supply, this is the place to replenish your spirit and appreciate all that nature has to offer. Please feel free to inquire about availability and seasonal pricing. We want you to completely enjoy your stay at this one of a kind home on the Ocean's Edge. Available for short stays (we prefer a 3-day minimum) and also would entertain a long term tenant. You will not be disappointed in your trip to this most impressive location.

A great location but needs new managment! Reviewed by: Marc L. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 9 days in November, 2012 We arrived and the place was a total disaster with all rooms being quite dirty and especially the kitchen and bath areas with food on the counters and hair in the tub- not a pretty sight after traveling for over 10 hours!My wife and I started cleaning and finally the maid came and said that Elite Carmel management had not even booked her for the day!!! To further issues we were not told ANYTHING of the scheduled construction on our visit and it made going into Carmel for dinner almost impossible. We had an 8:30 pm curfew every night as Highway 1 was shut down from 9pm to 7 am every day!! I found this out the hard way when my wife and parents tried to go through and were turned back to get a hotel in Carmel as the detour is 5 hours around!!!I called and politely but firmly complained about the property and the road closure and also asked for help with the internet. I was promised a call back that day and didn?t hear from Elite Carmel Management for over 21 days !!!!! Elite Carmel Management has failed miserably with this one and I was only emailed after disputing the charge as NOT ONE PERSON every email or called back?I have read many negative reviews about Elite Carmel Management on VBRO and even Google searches and I am planning on contacting the BBB and California Tourism Board as I have NEVER been treated like this in my entire life. Truly unacceptable? and either Elite Carmel is so inept on carrying on business or giving any customer service or they are too stuck up and simply feel they have the right to disregard clients.I encourage the owner of the property to call or email me as I would love to tell him the real story that went on here. If I was the owner of this property I would be fuming mad about how my guests were treated. The house is in an amazing spot but the management team is just useless?Maybe Elite Carmel Management should be renamed ? Substandard Carmel Management?? |

The views are mesmerizing! The property is not suitable for children or heavy drinkers as with a misstep, one could fall off the cliff and tumble down into the ocean. The property was clean, but some features, e.g., the refrigerator, were not operating at 100% efficiency. |

Dirty upon arrival A guest from San Angelo, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 We arrived at the rental property late evening and found dirty bedding on the floor with no sheets that fit the bed in the master bedroom. Dirty dishes were in the kitchen in the sink and counters. No toiletries available in the bathroom. Upon calling and texting the company, they first offered another rental property further north. Of course it was too late in the evening to pack the car and find another location, so she offered to compensate us by not charging us for that night and having the cleaning crew out the next morning. We had to leave once they finally arrived so that they could clean. The second night was lovely with a cleaner house and available necessities. The staff was highly professional and quick to respond. Had the cleaning crew had the house prepared for our arrival, we would have had a better experience. It should be noted that there is a loose metal material on the roof of he house that needs repair. It banged all night. Its a shame that such a lovely property was not cared for as it is a beautiful location. But the stay was certainly ruined by the poor maintenance of the property. |

Instructed to use dishwasher when checking dishwasher present (altho there was dishwasher soap). No internet available, no cell service, no tv reception. Lacked comfort, sterile environment. Hard to enjoy outside..very windy and foggy. We would not return. |

Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 The approach to this property from Hwy 1 is a very steep grade and bad road condition. Guests must be informed so they are prepared before choosing or arriving at the property. All the windows were dirty so could not get a clear view of the outside. |
