The Bear’s Den is a beautiful log home located in a private community on the east shore of Lake Lure.   Peaceful, wooded location within walking distance to a quiet cove on Lake Lure for fishing or swimming.  Plan to spend your nights watching deer, wild turkey, owls, and flying squirrels, but please do not feed the bears! 

This lovely cabin is easily accessible from the parking area via a ramp, which is wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair.  The wonderful 2-story great room has beautiful wood floors, a floor to ceiling stone fireplace with gas logs and is furnished with locally crafted log furniture.  The living room features DirectTV and a VCR/DVD player with surround sound.  

The master bedroom offers a king size bed, rocking chair and many charming decorative accents. Its adjacent ceramic tile bath has a corner jetted tub for a relaxing soak after a day spent hiking, swimming or fishing. Guest will appreciate the two additional bedrooms and full bath, which is easily accessible. 

Stairs from the living area lead to a cozy loft. Furnished with a queen futon, DirectTV and a game table, it is a perfect spot for an additional sleeping area, quiet reading or board games.

Covered porches surround the front of the cabin and ample glass doors and windows offer soothing views of the woods beyond.  There is also a back deck and a screened porch off the kitchen where guests can enjoy breakfast with the sounds of nature. Beautiful winter views of Lake Lure add to the enjoyment of a winter stay at the Bear's Den.

The Bear’s Den is only a six-mile drive to the Lake Lure Marina and Beach and hiking in Chimney Rock State Park. There are two championship golf courses only 10 minutes away; and Asheville, home of the Biltmore Estate, is within an hour's drive.

$45.00 Accidental Damage Insurance

5% Rutherford County Occupancy Tax (on rent)

6.75% NC State Sales Tax (on rent and reservation fee)

Cancellation / Transfer Policy:

If a confirmed reservation is cancelled or transferred, a processing fee of $50.00 and the $20.00 reservation fee plus applicable North Carolina State Sales Tax will be charged against the Advance Deposit. If the cancellation occurs less than 30 days prior to arrival; all funds received will be forfeited, unless the property can be re-rented for the cancelled period for the full amount. Please allow 30 days from the date we receive your cancellation notice for any of the Advance Confirmation Deposit to be returned (applicable only if the unit was re-rented
