Pätiälä Manor is located in a typical Finnish cultural landscape in southern Finland right on the shore of Lake Päijänne, 35 km north of the city of Lahti. Idyllic Vääksy, the area’s services centre, is situated only 10 km away, while it is no more than a 6-km journey to the naturally beautiful Pulkkilanharju, which is an 8-km long ridge-like esker looking like a bridge crossing L. Päijänne.
Pätiälä manor is an old family home practising traditional agriculture and forestry. Three of Päijänne’s bays thrust into the manorlands. The first mention of the estate dates back to the 1400s. Furthermore, the manor’s lands have yielded a valuable Viking coin hoard from around the 1000s; this comprised 360 coins of various nationalities.
