Lake Tyrjänjärvi lies between Finland and Russia, so that a border zone permit is required for rowing on lake or walking on ice in the winter. You can swim and fish by shore without any permit.

Border zone permit is not a fishing permit. If you want to fish in the lake you need a border zone in addition to a fishing license. Border zone permits can be purchased at Kolmikanta border guard station. Cottage is located about 10 km from station. When obtaining the permit an identity card or a foreign passport must be accompanied.
