A guest from Toronto, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2015 Convenient location, easy walk to the beach. Clean neat place and good value for the money spent. No trouble at all for 3 days staying there. But not fully make use of this place either since we spent all the time outside. So not sure if all appliances working properly or not. Only a little inconvenience at the time of arrival since we get there at mid night and the lock box is very hard to find particularly at night. Not on any place someone can think of easily at all. I called the agent several times and walk around the building 2 or 3 times before I accidentally saw the lock box location on the wall not close to any entrances at all.

Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2014 The place looks just like it does in the photos. We did have some problemswith the place such as the washer and dryer was leaking from the bottom so we were unable to use it on our time there, which was one of the big reasons I got this place. There is only a ac unit in the big bedroom and a portable rolling one. The shower and toilet is located in the same room in the middle of the rooms. The location is very close to the beach and the view from the balcony is amazing but the balcony door is very tough to open. Overall it worked out for the stay.
Reviewed by: Marlon D. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 Best way to describe this condo is it's ok. Bathrooms were clean, but the sheets were dirty. Kitchen was fairly clean, but your feet would be black from walking on the hardwood floors. Condo was quiet couldn't hear your neighbors, but the AC's made so much noise it was hard to watch TV. There were pots and pans, but no measuring cups. There was wifi but it didn't work very well. So while condo is in a pretty good location and the rental price isn't to expensive, in my mind its just ok.
A guest from Armstrong, XX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 This condo was super convenient location and had wonderful viewsfrom the main bedroom. The upgraded kitchen was great and the building quiet. The only drawbacks were the jack & jill bathroom that provided little privacy . The other issue we had was upon leaving the condo we were unable to make it down to the main floor to exit because of a fob problem with the elevator, which meant we had to walk down 17 floors & the last set of stairwells had no lights at all which was pretty treacherous. A solution to this would be a lockbox drop off on the main floor. Overall I would use this condo again for short stays :)
Carmany T. from Mullett Lake, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2014 Great location for walking to the beach but avoiding the main drag's traffic noise. Secure parking garage and space - included in the rate. That's a major benefit! The unit is attractive and cleverly laid out, but the bedding is a bit old and shabby. There was not adequate cooking pots/pans, or enough silverware, but we managed some home cooking anyway. The windows and sliding glass door are heavy and difficult to move, but the view across the canal onto the hills beyond is awesome. We suffered high winds while we were there and they made the windows and doors rattle and shake - they were fine by the end of our stay when the winds calmed down. The management team was very responsive to any request we had of them. So, all in all, this is a good deal on a good place, and we were happy.

Stayed for 25 days in February, 2014 We contacted Mgmt from airport to meet us with a key, they came 2 1/2 hrs later - we waited outside with our luggage. Door was difficult to open, place was clean except for windows and quilts on beds. Bought new pillows as theirs were soiled. No towel racks, so bought one. Kitchen lacked good cuttlery and only had 5 glasses, one wine glass, so bought 4 more glasses and got plastic spoons from a fast food outlet. Window in 2nd bedroom would not close and slats were actually missing and this opened onto public hallway. Did not feel secure, and if people walked by at 5 am talking, you jumped out of bed scared they were in your suite. Requested a deadbolt be installed - was not done. Patio doors difficult to open and impossible to lock. After staying in other condo's in prior years, we were disappointed with this and owner should look into new mgmt for upkeep and service if they want to continue renting this unit. It has potential but needs lots of TLC.Would never rent this again. One kind fellow, Jim, tried to be helpful, but did not get cooperation from his boss at Hawaiian Paradise Retreats. Would not recommend this unit.

A guest from Altadena, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2013 The condo was quiet and peaceful, it had everything you could possibly need to cook. You can walk to the beach, stores and many other places. I would stay here again if I decide to go back to Hawaii.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 the building is located a couple short blocks from Kuhio and a few more blocks to the beach. It's quiet, has a great view of the incline and has parking! The washer/dryer is great and the A/C is great, but only spreads to the bedroom it's in. One thing to note is that the entrance to the parking garage is on Ala Wai Blvd. Would definitely recommend.
Reviewed by: Carole H. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2013 We were told that an agent would meet us at the rental with the keys. When we called from the airport we were told we had to go to another place to get the keys. When we arrived at the condo we realized that the location was certainly not the greatest. The neighborhood was a little seedy. We had a problem opening the front door. There was a bed under a window that was filthy and had a missing window. The sliders to the deck were very difficult to open and when we called the person in charge and told him of the problem, especially the window, because there was only one small air conditioner in the master bedroom, and the little air there was was going out the window. He called someone supposedly and they were going to come and fix it and no one ever showed up or called. The hair dryers did not work, as a matter of fact one sparked. The only reason I gave it two stars was the view was good and the furniture was ok. Also, the air conditioner leaked
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 Pros - the kitchen/bathroom was recently renovated, very nice. Super convenient to have use of the kitchen and supplies. The unit had a washer/dryer which was very convenient - great for after the beach. The views of the canal and golf course were gorgeous. I really liked the 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds to accommodate our 2 teenage sons. Parking in the building was very appreciated.Cons - the sliding bathroom doors were not replaced during the renovation and were very old and continuously got stuck - why skimp at such a minor cost? Also the shower was very small - my husband who is 6 ft 3in could barely fit. Also the main bedroom had just a double bed (no queen), and could not accommodate me and my tall husband. I had to sleep on the couch. Also there was a lot of dust/dirt on the window fixtures and sliding doors of the 2nd bedroom, it looked liked they haven't been cleaned for years, really gross, especially compared the rest of the condo which was vey clean. The garage door clicker was very sticky - a minor annoyance.Overall the place was decent given the price and it was relatively clean, the building was very secure as you needed a fob to get in/out of the building, elevators and garage. Which brings me to my biggest complaint - we were told to leave our fobs in the suite before checking out and I realized after I closed the door there was no way for us to get down the elevator without a fob. I ended up having to knock on other suite doors to find someone with a fob to call the elevator for us! It would have been nice if we were given instructions on how to check out and leave the building without a fob! Be warned if you rent this place - get clear instructions on how to check out without the use of a fob.
Reviewed by: jay l. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 Difficult/unclear check-out process. The Condo management is very rude and pretentious. There are a lot of rules and apparently the residents like to give complaints. The good news: Place had a spectacular view of the hills beyond Honolulu. Very close to public transit and the beaches of Waikiki. The place is very secure and safe.
A guest from Issaquah, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 It was not our top choice but given that we were pressed for time to find a place it was acceptable. The location though was perfect because it was near the part of Waikiki beach where our two small children can swim without worrying about boats hitting them.

A guest from Sunnyvale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2013 Rent one week for a family vacation. Reviewed by: Deborah M. recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in April, 2013 A lovely place to stay for our family of four, including 3yr old and 18mth old. The condo was well presented and had all the conveniences to make for an enjoyable stay. A crib was provided on request. The only minor issue was that we found the main bed uncomfortable (soft and sagging) and we ended up slumped in the center of the double bed. Often one of us would move to the couch or single bed. Maybe time to look at a replacement. We'd recommend this rental and would use again.

Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2012 We stayed at Monte Vista for 5 days and 4 nights the second week in October. It was in a convenient location right next to the canal and walking distance from Waikiki Beach and all the shopping. It was close enough to walk anywhere but far enough so you didn't get too much of the noise from all the people on the main strip. The condo itself was a great size. We had 6 people stay there and it was comfortable. We had a great view of the golf course and a designated parking spot in the garage. There is also a washer and dryer inside the condo so it was convenient being able to wash all our clothes before we packed up and flew out. The only thing was that you can't feel the air conditioner in the second bedroom so it did get pretty warm in there. Although there was a fan, it didn't help that much. Other than that, we had a great stay and wouldn't mind staying here again for our next visit. Thanks Hawaiian Paradise Retreats!

It is a very good location: 3 streets from the beach and one corner for the city bus. The condo was in good shape and clean although only 3 burners of the stove were working and they were in poor condition. The lanai was very small and the second room was smaller than it looked in the pictures but we could manage. The telephone didn't work well...noise...We appreciated the washer and the dryer in the appartment and they worked well. It is a very secure place as we have to take the keys for the elevator and everywhere...The view in the master bedroom is superb and we appreciated the separate lavabos for each rooms. We had good service from the agency...we asked for a toaster and a few hours later we had a new one delivered to us. It is a good place to stay; I would recommend it to my friends.

The staff at Hawaiian Paradise Retreats were wonderful to work with, professional and extremely accomodating. The condo had many recent upgrades and most of the furnishings were brand new. Reviewed by: MJ K. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2012 DO NOT RENT THIS UNIT. It was not as described at ALL. It was run down, things broke as we touched them (pocket doors, the desk, bathroom fixtures, etc) It was filthy when we arrived. We had to go to WalMart and buy our own cleaning supplies and clean the place just to make it livable. Not to mention new sheets we had to buy (which someone came in and stole while we were at the beach without leaving us new ones) There were broken screens and paint cans on the lanai as well as cigarette butts and assorted rubbish. We were left one key FOB for three people and were given no instructions on how to buzz people in via the intercom so my friend got locked out without her phone for over 6 hours. The D/W, washer and drier were both broken and disgusting so we had to haul all of our laundry to a facility to wash it. As a former Hawai'i resident showing my friends a a good time, I was extremely embarrassed to have rented this place. One person in our party was so disgusted she booked her own hotel room. Oh and did I mention, one of the bedrooms had jealousies windows that wouldn't close and when it rained it soaked the back of her bed, hence the hotel stay. Do not rent this place.
