Third Time Is Not Always The Charm A guest from Valparaiso, IN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2012 This was our third time staying at the resort. We brought our close friends with us this trip,they had heard how much we have enjoyed it, they wanted to see it for themselves. Upon arriving, after filling our fridge with groceries, we realized the fridge was not working. Maintenance did take care of it right away. The next morning our water was yellow/brown and then we had NO water for a short time. We called the office, was given no explanation, but then the water did come back on as we were on the phone with them. It was still discolored so had to wait a while to shower, etc., until it cleared. The unit itself, although it served its purpose, really needs updating! It would have been nice to have a place to rinse our feet off when returning from the beach like the other units we have stayed in have. We waited a good 20-25 min for someone to come pick us up for check out, keep in mind this is not a busy time of year. Has management changed? As much as we love our Fall trip to the resort, this has left us debating whether to return again next year. |

Stayed for 4 days in October, 2012 I had requested a specific building at reservation and was told that it would not be a problem. When I arrived, the pool associated with that building was apparently under repair and so we were moved to different building. The new unit was okay, but I had requested the initial building for a reason and did not like being moved after I had been told it was not an issue at reservation. Otherwise the stay/staff was good. |

Peaceful family getaway A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 I first visited Palm Island twenty years ago and I am happy to report that it has not changed. It is still the peaceful beach getaway it always was. Everyone working at the resort greeted you with a smile and tried to answer any questions you had. My only complaints are that the beach is a very long walk from the villas, the carpet in this unit was disgusting (apparently the resort knew this too as there was a carpet cleaning company waiting to clean the unit as we were checking out), and Red Beard the Pirate left early on Sunday - I brought my grandson up for the craft time and the pirate was nowhere to be found. The folks at coconuts informed us that he must have left early. All in all it was a nice getaway. |

Some details to work on, but love Palm Island Resort A guest from St. Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2012 When reservation was placed, we asked that the 1st floor guest bedroom have a queen or king in it for my mom and dad. Instead it had two twin beds without skirts on them. (my mom's pet peve) We were able to put them together and place appropriate bedding on them though. The upstairs unit did not have a tv in it for the kids. The office staff did bring in a tv so that the kids could play their video games and watch tv. This was our 5th year visiting Palm Island. The property should invest in more pictures of each unit to include ALL bedrooms and bathrooms. That way, visiters can get an overall idea of what their unit will look like. Don't get me wrong, we love Palm Island Resort and will return, we just didn't want to do any shuffling things around when we arrived. |

Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 Cable TV was limited to 5-10 channels, notified front desk several times before someone actually came out, at which time we were notified it could not be fixed for several days, on day 6 of 7 we checked out early, still no expanded cable.roaches small and large in unit, kitchen and bedroom.Other than above it seemed to be a good place, very quiet and accomodations were fine. Quiet beach was beautiful. Pool and BBQ grill areas were very nice. |
