Misty morning on Kennisis Lake
Porch swing. Propane BBQ. Welcome to our cottage on beautiful big Kennisis Lake!
This private lakefront, all season cottage is situated on a peninsula in a quiet inlet on prestigious Kennisis Lake. Captain’s Cove comfortably sleeps 6- 8 and is the perfect hideaway from the chaos of the city. Last cottage on the cove — on one side your only neighbours are beavers and ducks. There’s more lake behind the cottage too! Just cross the driveway to the back bay and enjoy a sunrise coffee with the loons. Extensive docking at the lakefront and a wonderful ‘lookout‘ deck with a great view, complete with porch swing, a 2nd propane BBQ and lots of water toys. Shallow entry all season, with a sandy beach by midsummer. This 3 bedroom cottage with its spacious, comfortable living room, boasts additional lounge and sleeping area in the screened solarium with a futon and 2nd bathroom. The cottage comes with a canoe, paddleboat and 2 kayaks and a swim raft; and the cottage faces NW for great sunsets. Add a fully equipped kitchen, dish washer, satellite TV/DVD, washer and dryer, airtight stove and central vac; gardens and a grassy play area behind the cottage with a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and you have the ideal cottage experience on a premier lake in Ontario — miles and miles of sparkling, pristine, island-studded waters, great for fishing, swimming and exploring; just 3 hours NE of Toronto and minutes from the 80,000 acre Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with its 250 kms of groomed trails and world-famous Wolf Observatory. We’re deep in the woods but only 25 minutes away from shopping and golf courses and Kennisis Lake has a marina and small store for last minutes supplies and all your watercraft needs. Our rustic abode is a breathtaking departure from the hustle and bustle and only 1/2 an hour from the not-too-bustling tourist town of Haliburton.
