The Inn
At the foot of the Schlossberg beautifully restored historic buildings form an ensemble that you can count as one of the most beautiful corners of the city. Here the "first house on the block," so to speak, is the pension Schlossvorwerk.

Rustic ambience provided by a dedicated team complements freshly prepared food, selected drinks and delicious ice cream. A restaurant in historic furnishings, rooms for parties and a cozy beer garden provide plenty of space for regulars and new friends of the castle.

A view from our guest rooms will show the former electoral palace, built in 1548, the Benedictine monastery and the castle church. Since 1930, the remaining buildings of the palace headquarters make up the Schlossberg Museum in Chemnitz.

Due to popular demand, the inn was expanded to a small but beautiful ice cream parlor. On the terrace overlooking the castle lake, you can enjoy fabulous ice cream, just as in the cozy beer garden is protected from rain.
