Altea is well known for its palm-lined walkways, fishing port and marina, as well as atmospheric cobbled lanes with artisan shops and quality restaurants. La Nucia is well known for its regular Sunday market, whilst the Avenida Porvilla has some of the most beautiful views of the area, looking out over the 'tossalets' (small rises) covered in pine and fruit trees. The nearest beaches are about a 15 minute drive away.
