Nice House, but beware of what you don't see!
Reviewed by: James D. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2016 We arrived for to chill out, catch up on dominoes and cards with family (brothers) I hadn't seen in a while. House seemed nice, no way could this house sleep 15, 8 more like it, however then again I didn't count the floor space... My daughter stayed in the room with the bunk beds, this is when the horror started. Before going to bed on the first night, my daughter came running to me screaming with ants all over her arms up to her wrists. I asked where she was and she said "just laying in her bed"! I found some Raid in the cabinet and sprayed her room area, (killing generations of ants). One of my brothers "screamed you gotta see this"! All around the bunk bed room roaches were making a break for it (from my spraying of Raid ant & roach). I don't have to tell you this did not and will not sit well with me & my family. This house is definitely off my list...
Donna L. from The Colony, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 This was our second stay at the house and if our group stays the same size, we will stay again. My family really enjoys the place, plenty of room, easy access to fishing on the deck/dock and it's in a nice quiet location. Maintained well (just don't lean on the decorative stair-railing in the living room, it's still wobbly). Also, I love working with Billie, she's very helpful!
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 The house was absolutely beautiful. The check in was very confusing. We told to get a key from under the mat and it didn't fit the door. Come to find out there were directions to the house and an address with the key.we didn't know what to do with the keys at check out. Better communication would be recommended but overall great experience and plan on coming back.
A guest from Boerne, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2015 Excellent location for a family reunion. Plenty of sleeping space (3 bedroom - one with bunk beds, one full size and one with king and full size in same room. Hugh fully equipped kitchen with every appliance imaginable. Great stay and very helpful management company.
A guest from Kingwood, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2015 We had a large group of 10. Plenty of room for eating and sleeping arrangements. The House was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. The pictures do not do it justice.
A guest from The Colony, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 Lots of room, great outdoor space with fishing, swimming and motorsports access, ample parking, nicely appointed and in a nice neighborhood. My only less than 5* was a couple of minor maintenance issues that will probably not be an issue for long, as they are in the process of updating the property. Would definitely rent again.
Sandi H. from Leewood, Kansas does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2014 We arrived to the house with a few challenges. The floors were extremely dusty, the towles smelled of mildew (left in washer too long so I had to wash), only 1/2 roll of toilet paper upon arrival, old coffee grounds left in coffee pot, the hurricane shutter broken and would not open in first bedroom and the tv broken in the 2nd (master) bedroom. I do have to say overall we had a great time but I tried to get these items fixed to no avail. The two items of concern were the hurrican shutter as the individuals in that room couldn't open it at all and you felt like you were in some type of a cell! The TV in the master was disappointing as you would like to be able to peruse especially since the golf tourny was on this last weekend. I texted the company asking for an adjustment and in turn they tell us we broke the blinds....they were broken upon arrival and laying across a dresser in the hallway! I still haven't heard back from them on the adjustment as things were not right nor corrected during our stay. We do like the bay side as it was more pleasant visually rather than the beaches with all of the seaweed. Billie was very nice but unfortunatley didn't make anything happen when it came to the challenges and I still have yet to hear back from her.
Kimberly L. from Houston, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 All of our guests really enjoyed the house. Beautifully appointed interior and details. We would definitely stay here again.
Reviewed by: Alicia N. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 This place exceeded my expectations, and if you know any thing about me, it is near impossible to do. Place was gorgeous and very homey. Will definitely stay again! Absolutely loved this beach house. I already recommended this place to my friends and they are staying here in August!
Felton B. from Scott, La. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 The pictures on the Internet does the house no justice. Once you see it you will be amazed. If I visit again I would request the same house. The view and the breeze will make you forget about work.
Mary C. from League City, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 The house was very nice and clean and airy, and all interior furnishings were nice. The outdoor furniture could use some updating, but the space is still very nice for a large get-together. The house is huge, too, with an open living/dining/kitchen, so there's plenty of space for 3-4 average-size families to enjoy. It is what you would expect of a house on the canal, with close neighbors, but it's by no means cramped. We would definitely stay here again.
THOMAS A S. from PEARLAND, TEXAS does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2013 The house itself was clean and nice but a lot of the utensils were dirty. The Bar-B-Q pit needs to be replaced. Need instructions how to work the TV's in the bedrooms, we could not get them to work but the 1 in the family room worked. The house is at the end of a canal so the water does not move much and holds some trash. The outside decks are nice.
Julio R. from Marshall, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 The vacation home was great the only thing that cut it short from perfect was the fact that it was a little warm in the living room area! Other than that, GREAT!!
Timothy M. from Lago Vista, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 Great Location, Very Accommodating, excellent Vacation Rental! It was not In Town but it was Not far from town making it a great location with easy access to everyday needs. Beach access both in town and in Jamiaca Beach and Isla del Sol were just down the road in either direction. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful and the Canal access and Boat Dock were a big plus in this case.
Steve B. from The Woodlands, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 We had a great time in Galveston over the 4th of July. The lighthouse was a nice place to stay but there were a few things that need to be fixed. There was an odor in the kitchen area that at times became very bad and permeated in the living area. We called the property manager but they were not able to do anything because of the holidays. They did offer to move us to a house in town but that would not have worked for us with the kids, so we masked the odor with some coffee grounds and baking soda. the only other problem was the furniture in the patio area, most of it is dirty and rusted. The deck furniture was fine.
Overall we had a great time and hope the owner fixes the odor problem.
