A Beautiful Retreat
A guest from Turlock, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2016 We enjoyed our week in the condo as a retreat from our daily lives of caring for an elderly parent. The location was a plus and we enjoyed being close to Truckee and Squaw Valley. The only suggestion for improvement would be something better than an uncomfortable futon on which to sit. We enjoyed our week away and being able to stay in a condo over a motel or hotel.
nikos g. from san diego, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2016 Condo was very clean and had updated appliances. Excellent location for access to Squaw Valley and Alpine meadows. Nice view of the stream. Can see and hear the hwy but isn't a problem. Carrie the property manager is a real gem-attentive, communicated with me to make sure I was all set to come up and jumped to fix the situation when someone left cigarette butts outside in the parking lot.
Dan S. from Berkeley, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2016 We have been renting from Alpine Rental Group (TVR) for at least 10 years. We have always been ecstatic with the service and condos they've provided us with. This year they changed management when the owner moved her attention over to Northstar and left Alpine Rental Group in the hands of less competent, unprofessional staff.Among the features listed in the ad for this property is a DVD player. This year it had been removed without their mentioning it to us and we weren't able to play any of the disks we had brought up with us. We left messages asking if we could borrow one from one of their unused units but no one got back to us. We had also asked whether we needed to bring a snow shovel and were informed that one was provided. When we pointed out there wasn't one after arriving, we were told they would get us one. They never did and we had to dig the car out from a foot of snow with our hands. On our third day there we were running low on toilet paper and we again tried the three numbers we were given, to request another roll. We ended up getting the manager who had checked us in (Carrie) who was apparently in the hospital with pneumonia. Outraged that we had bothered her in the hospital about toilet paper, she promptly 86'd "from her company," claiming toiletries were our responsibility. At no time in all the ears we have been coming here have we ever been asked to supply our own toiletries, nor is it stated anywhere in their Guest Policies and Procedures document that is sent along with the rental agreement. That the office was closed the entire time we were there and that our calls weren't routed to another staff member is unprofessional and incompetent. Why we were banished from doing business with this company, over a DVD player request and toilet paper is beyond our comprehension. We are sad to lose the use of this rental property but given the change in management culture, we feel it is no longer a good fit for us.
Robert B. from Lincoln, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2015 We had a quick weekend stay during the off season. Although it was a little more than I wanted to spend during the off season stay, it was still about the price of a decent hotel. It was clean and larger than the picture make it look. The balcony was a nice touch next to the river but it wasn't very peaceful as you do have people from the restaurant looking right at you and at night they shine their lights directly at the balcony making you feel like you're on the spotlight. It also could use more towels and blankets. Overall I enjoyed it and we'd come again.
A guest from Edmonton, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2015 Rental agent was nice and helpful about area. When we got into condo I was impressed with the size( the pictures on line don't do justice) and it was very clean. The view from back deck is right out of a picture."awesome". It was close to bike path and only 10min bike ride to the village. We had a great time and would love to come back next year.
Andrea K. from San Francisco, California recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2015 The property was perfectly located to hiking, biking and the Lake. Though management was kind enough to warn us of nearby construction, we were lucky crews took off the weekend we were there. I love the condo itself, perfect size and everything you need. The only suggestion I have would be to forego the second TV/cable in the bedroom and offer wireless internet more than 250 MB per day. I much prefer listening to music to watching television as I fall asleep.
A guest from Belvedere Tiburon, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2015 Pleasant, quiet, and with beautiful furnishings. One thing, the fitted sheet for the pull out futon only was for a twin bed. It did not fit!
A guest from ROSEVILLE, California recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 We had a very relaxing stay on the Truckee River. The condo is well equipped and nicely decorated. We will definitely come back again.
A guest from Oklahoma City, OK does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 Condo was very clean on well maintained property. Kitchen well stocked. But the bed was just too narrow for two. Living room futon mattress was larger than frame making sitting awkward. TV remotes didn't change channels well. Location good for exploring the area. Traffic noise was somewhat bothersome while sitting outside.
Kevin L. from Antelope, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2015 We had a great time, the condo was fully equipped, near truckee river , hiking area, bike riding, and there is a lot of great scenery in the area.
Linda K. from Napa, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2015 We stayed for two nights and it was relaxing even with a 9 month old staying with us. It had a large living space and spacious bedroom. Wish we would have gotten a two bedroom just because of the baby but it worked out. First night we arrived the River Ranch had music on their patio which was across from our deck and it was awesome to sit their and listen to live music. Would stay here again.
KIMBERLY S. from Los Osos, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2015 Rental went very smooth. Loved being able to pick key up after hours, privacy to just enjoy the rental, quite neighbors. House was stocked well, everything worked and beautiful area. Will be renting there again.
Kandace B. from Vail, Colorado recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2015 The apartment was just what we needed. My family was attending a wedding in Squaw valley and accommodation in Squaw was outrageous. I'm very happy we found this place. The process was made very easy and we have no complaints about the apartment, it was clean enough. The TV and sound system was difficult to use(three different remotes) Do NOT eat at the restaurant across the way it was disgusting.
Dan S. from Berkeley, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2015 We've been coming to this location for about 15 years or more and will continue to do so. We always have had an excellent rapport with Tahoe Rentals who are always very helpful making sure we have everything we need. We are already looking forward to next year!
Adriana W. from San Diego, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2014 We loved this resort. It was close to the slopes, shopping, and the snow was great. We would definitely come again. Clean, and fully loaded with all the amenities.
Norrie B. from Dos Palos, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2014 Nice stay. It was a warm and cozy condo close to all the places we wanted to visit. Perfect for 2-4 people. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. The people we encountered during our stay were extremely friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
Nigel F. from Placentia, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2014 Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. The view of the Truckee River from the balcony and Living room sliding glass door was beautiful. The heater wasn't working, but this was quickly corrected. There is no internet available, but I was provided a hotspot to use for the duration of my stay. However, this particular Hotspot device was very tepmermental. My only recommendation would be to either provided internet service or provide Hotspots that are fully functional. Other than that we were very pleased and would come back again!
A guest from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 This location was perfect for my race in Homewood, CA. The condo is right on the water and was nice to sit on the patio and enjoy the view. The walking/running/cycling path is minutes from the front door. Cathy in the management office was great to work with!
A guest from palm Springs, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 Stayed a total of 4 nights with my wife and two kids. The condo was very clean, located in a great location and with an excellent view. only downfall the home owners had an issue with my kids being a bit to loud. we were on vacation though it was still ok to have some fun. All in all we had fun..
Kathleen N. from Columbia, California recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 The location was perfect for excursions to the Lake, to Squaw Valley, to Truckee, to Carson City. The location of our unit & its balcony overlooking the Truckee River, with its rapids & its boaters, was constantly interesting. Highly recommended on all counts!
Carolina G. from Los Angeles, CA - California recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 The condo was clean, easy to find and extremely cozy. The view was breathtaking. Highly recommend it!
Bill W. from Houston, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 We selected this property based on its location on the Truckee River and the good reviews other visitors had given. We were VERY HAPPY with our choice. The condo was clean, well situated, and met our needs. The only negative for us was the queen bed. We wish there had been a king. Our flight was 3 hours late taking off so I called Cathy at the property management group. She gave us good advice to stop in Reno for a quick grocery shop as we were arriving on July 4th. After a surprisingly short drive from Reno, we arrived and already had a lovely bottle of wine and nosh to enjoy on the deck overlooking the river as the sun set. It was view we enjoyed each morning with a hot cup of coffee watching the sun color the early morning sky! There is so much to do in this area. We were only able to sample some of what it offers, but we want to come back to make more memories! FYI - we rented a ski boat through SWA for several hours and sped around Lake Tahoe! I would encourage others to take advantage of enjoying the lake in this way while staying in this lovely property!
Sandy T. from Menlo Park, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 Stayed for 3 nights which was perfect. The condo is in a great location overlooking the Truckee River and across from River Ranch. Will definitely return!
A guest from Truckee, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2014 A friend who lives in the River Run Complex rented this condo for my husband and me to stay in for my birthday weekend. The unit is located right on the river and we both enjoyed the sound of the river to relax by. It is walking distance to River Ranch which is a plus for dinner, and also from Crest Cafe which is a plus for morning coffees. It is a one bedroom unit perfect for two people. Any more than that, I think it would be too crowded. One downside is that it is a lower unit and you can hear noise from the people above.
A guest from Sacramento, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2014 Quiet, beautiful location. View of Truckee River from the deck. Kitchen is very well equipped. Property managers very accommodating. We plan to stay again!
A guest from Pleasant Hill, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2014 Everything was great. The view of the river was awesome. We saw a bald eagle fishing in the river 20 yards away. The only negatives were no WiFi in the condo and I thought the bed was a little uncomfortable. I would rent this condo again.
dana s. from walnut creek, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2013 The location and amenities fit the bill perfectly for our stay. We were able to park right in front, the condo had everything needed, and the view of the river was amazing!
Cindy P. from Redwood City, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 The condo was perfect for our needs. My son and friend wanted to fish, and what better spot than on the river. Perfect for river rafting too, as the rafts end right across the river at River Ranch. Nice to be near Squaw, and midway between Tahoe City and Truckee. The condo was very clean and well-maintained and had everything we needed. We would definitely come back!
A guest from Redondo Beach, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 Very convenient to all the north lake attractions -- very comfortable room and living area. I think our only complaint is that we had to go home.
A guest from Pasadena, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 Hi,I wanted to write about the recent stay at your condo. I did not stay there myself as I purchased this as a gift for my inlaws for Christmas 2012 and they absolutely LOVED it!!! They were SO happy with the condo, the location and they said that the pictures I gave them from your website did the property no justice as it was so much more beautiful then they expected.I would recommend this place to anyone asking for a quiet, beautiful get away. I would love to come there myself one day!Thank you!!
Phil G. from Santa Rosa, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2013 This is a great place to stay. The only reason I gave the general condition a 4 was because the pool was closed for repair but we used the hot tub.
A guest from Piedmont, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2013 There are two recommendations I would make for this property. Wi-Fi and a mattress topper for the futon couch/bed. Otherwise it's a gem.
Property Manager Response: Response from Tahoe Vacation Rentals, Inc There is a mattress pad in the master bedroom closet along with a down comforter, pillow, sham, blanket, and sheets for the living room futon.
Christina C. from Farmington, ME recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in March, 2013 We LOVED this condo! We were out on the deck enjoying the river every day for a morning coffee or afternoon game of cribbage. The location was a great combination of being tucked away from the busy street, but also with easy access to the mountains, restaurants, hot tub, etc. The main room is bigger than it seems in the pictures, a very comfortable set-up. The only things that could make it better would be to have WiF - it was a pain to have to go to the breakfast restaurant across the street to connect - and a microwave really should be added; there's a convection-type oven that is very outdated. But overall we had a great stay and would definitely return in the future.
Property Manager Response: Response from Tahoe Vacation Rentals, Inc I am glad they had a good time. There is a microwave built in above the oven. The guest may have thought this was the cooktop fan only. Internet is an issue and owners would like to provide it, but ATT and the cable company have not installed the infrastructure. The condo also cannot receive a signal from the only internet provider due to a mountain in the way. On a good day, you can pick up internet from a signal across the river, but we cannot advertise internet is provided.
A guest from Berkeley, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2012 A wonderful ground floor condo in a very convenient location just off the main road yet cushioned by a restaurant and babbling Truckee river. A working log fire and very well appointed kitchen for all our vaction needs.
Jeff P. from Piedmont, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2012 This is a great condo. The river that it sits on is beautiful and you can see the restaurant across the river with the holiday lights & Christmas tree from the condo. The hot tub is walking distance in the complex, which although a bit dirty with leaves, it was nice to relax in after skiing. The thermostat didn't seem accurate, as we were sweating at 65 degrees, but we turned it down the 2nd night to 62 and did much better. The fireplace is gorgeous and they give you lots of firewood. We'll definitely be back.
A guest from Davis, California recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 This was a fabulous place to stay. The property was very clean and a perfect size for what we were looking for. The view from the deck was stunning. The location was great, as there was horseback riding about a half mile up the road and rafting right across the river. This was a great place for a getaway for two, and we hope to come back again someday soon!
Deborah M. from Roseville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 Our condo was fine. No access to wi-fi though, and we couldn't get the TV to work, even though we read the three pages of instructions in the binder! The picture lead us to believe there was a quiet river, when in reality, it is right across from a busy restaurant! We were only really sleeping there, so it was fine for what we needed.
Property Manager Response: Response from Tahoe Vacation Rentals, Inc I wish they had called so I could help them with the TV. It was checked after receiving this review and it worked fine. Notation on the remote instructs to aim above the LG sound bar. If you don't then the remote's signal does not reach the TV.
A guest from Hidden Valley Lake, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 If you are a smoker, the condition of the condo may not bother you. We specifically selected a non-smoking condo and it was immediately evident upon entering the front door that this condo had been inhabited by a smoker. Aside from that, the view from the deck was stunning. We ended up returning to the rental desk for a refund as the "smoked in" condition was a deal breaker.
A guest from Piedmont, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2012 In general, this place was great. Fantastic location - a short walk over to the River Ranch for dinner or a cocktail, and 5 min or less to the slopes at Alpine Meadows. Very reasonably priced for what it is. Spacious, comfortable, pretty view of the river, and the management company thought of all of the little things to make our stay easy. Only (very slight) ding was the condo had a mild musty odor to it - perhaps someone had been smoking in it? But after a few minutes it wasn't really noticeable. Like I said it was mild and not overly offensive, but if you are very sensitive to those things, be aware of it.
Property Manager Response: Response from Tahoe Vacation Rentals, Inc We noticed that, too. Carpets have been cleaned and it is much better.
