Just because you're at the beach, who says you can't live in luxury? Our 3-level condo at SpyGlass 41 is as opulent as a Paris flat, with beautiful furnishings and fittings you will love. Come enjoy the ocean view, the amenities, and the lovely décor!
Oriental rugs on the floors, art on the walls, and all manner of tasteful ornamentation greet you at SpyGlass 41. We want the inside of our ocean view condo to be as beautiful as the outside. So when you step onto our second-floor balcony overlooking the grounds, the dunes, and unspoiled Crescent Beach, you can truly feel at one with nature. Then you can go back inside and enjoy the beauty of man-made art!
SpyGlass 41 is just yards from a private walkway down to the beach, and even closer to a sparkling oceanfront swimming pool. This is a family-friendly, very well-maintained condominium complex just a few miles south of historic downtown St. Augustine, convenient to everything from world-class golf to fine dining and interesting sightseeing. At the complex you can enjoy tennis as well as swimming and sunbathing. The sunrise over the Atlantic is stunning, and the sunset over the Intracoastal spectacular.
Park your car in our first-floor garage, then take the spiral staircase up to the living and dining storey. Here you'll find our ocean view balcony (with casual seating so you can savor that first cup of coffee in the morning or final glass of wine at night), and just inside is the living room. The condo is open-plan, so the ocean view is shared with the dining and kitchen areas as well.
You'll love our comfortable couch and chairs, grouped around the entertainment center with cable TV and DVD player. The mirrored wall makes the space look larger, but part of its charm is its intimacy. This is the place to gather the group after a busy day sightseeing or sunbathing and begin one of those long, unforgettable conversations. Or, failing that, there is always charades! You will like the coziness of this room and the lush décor.
The dining area is designed for comfort as well -- the long enjoyment of a good meal or an evening of games around the table. The chandelier, sideboard, and formal table setting are worthy of your finest feasts, but they also go nicely with takeout fish and chips, in case you've sworn off cooking while in Florida. (What an excellent idea! The restaurants in St. Augustine are simply too many and too good to miss.)
Whether you're toiling over gourmet delicacies or simply dishing up drive-through, you will love being in our kitchen. The wallpaper is regal, the countertops granite, and the cupboards stocked with every piece of cookware, dish, and utensil imaginable. You only add groceries -- the rest is here!
A half-bath is convenient to the living and dining areas, and we have stocked it -- as we have all the baths at SpyGlass 41 -- with towels. The beds all have linens, blankets, and pillows, and spares are at hand. Don't dream of packing these items, and lighten your suitcase still further if you would like to use our washer and dryer while you're here, too. You will be amazed at how many times you find yourself nipping down to the pool or the beach just one more time before bed . . . the washer and dryer keep all those swimsuits and beach towels fresh!
The master suite is a sanctuary at SpyGlass 41, designed for pure relaxation. The king-sized bed offers a heavenly night's rest, the huge picture window brings the sea almost to your doorstep, and the writing table lets you indulge in scribbling postcards (or perhaps merely updating your Facebook status -- you DO have free wireless Internet here!) late at night. The en-suite bathroom boasts a walk-in shower and fabulous striped wallpaper.
The second bedroom is spacious as well, with 2 twin-sized beds and a small TV, because even the children are on vacation, after all! The second bathroom, offering both a shower and tub option, is convenient to this room. Everyone will get a good night's sleep at SpyGlass 41!

A great and luxurious stay A guest from East Lansing, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 28 days in February, 2013 We had a wonderful month in Spyglass 41 in Crescent Beach. This property features many original works of art, artifacts from around the world, and other high end features. Those with children might not be entirely comfortable, but as a couple, we enjoyed all of the touches present. This property also features a fabulous view of the ocean from the bedroom and balcony. We also liked the location of the Spyglass complex, as well as how it is maintained. great location A guest from Tallahassee, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2012 This is a wonderful location with easy beach access and great ocean views. The condo layout works well. Condo is overdecorated including some personal items that make a visitor a bit uncomfortable.Looming over our 2 day visit was the additional $125 janitorial fee. For this, we arrived with trash in the kitchen, no toilet paper in the master bath, dust on the dressers, and a sliding door so dirty that it obstructed the view. And the water heater was not turned on- we found that out the morning after arrival when we jumped into the shower before an appointment. Then, on leaving (24 hrs later), we were instructed to strip beds, take out trash, and start up the washer and the dishwasher. Not sure what was left to do for the $125. We went to to the office to turn in keys and complain, and the lady there ignored me for awhile while dealing with some other agent, then said I had to call the agent booking our condo. No apologies, no empathy- very poor customer service. I think I'll try a different rental agency next go round. Unit decorations A guest from Bracey, VA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in May, 2012 The spyglass itself is a very nice clean and quiet complex and the beach is beautiful! The unit is a totally different story. The T.V. stand is way too large and takes up too much space in the room. The two chairs are really uncomfortable. There are way too many decorations and the place looks missmatched. Too many pictures and too many things on the tables. Because of all the furniture, it made the place look and feel small! The down stairs half bathroom is overwhelming with so many strange pictures and things hanging on the wall. I wouldn't want to have a small child go in there! They would be too scared of the pictures and objects on the walls! The way the condo is decorated, you don't feel like you are at the beach and it takes away from that relaxing feeling that one should have when on vacation!The master bedroom has a huge figure of a woman and again too many things on the furniture! The night stands and furniture in both bedrooms are made of material that is not user friendly. Doors need new locks because the ones that are there are hard to get unlocked and the one leading out to the patio out of the garage is impossible to get open! Small windows in the living room can't be seen out of! The Condo really needs and updating to look like a beach condo and one more comfortable couch like the love seat that is in the condo now! 2nd bedroom needs the door fixed so that it will shut and lock! The kitchen is small and then they have these oversized glass containers that take up too much space! I would really love to go back to the SpyGlass and would recommend it to others but not to #41 again! Beachfront Condo Delivers A guest from Alpharetta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2012 Great 2 BR condo actually fronting Crescent Beach- we had two teenagers, so it made for easy coming and going to and from the pool and beach. I'm not sure this would be a great condo for the 10 and under crowd, lots of art, high end furnishings, etc. that might be trouble for little ones. The super deep garage gives you plenty of room for your floats, boogie boards, chairs, etc. This is kind of an isolated part of Crescent Beach, far away from the automobile access areas, but you do still get vehicles that drive by on the beach. 2 or 3 miles from "downtown" Crescent Beach, and about 10 minutes from St. Augustine and all the restaurants and attractions that it offers. If we go back to this part of Florida, this will be a first choice for our family because of the beach front views and value.
