Two stories of comfort-15 Acres of Privacy. No wonder the eagle landed here!
Describing our American emblem, the bald eagle, author Maude M. Grant wrote ?Living as he does on the tops of lofty mountains, amid the solitary grandeur of Nature, he has unlimited freedom?? Surely the majestic creature Ms. Grant describes was circling this beautiful mountain home. Eagles Landing sits high on Cabin Mountain surrounded by 15 acres of wooded splendor. No matter the season, visitors will enjoy the ?solitary grandeur of Nature?. The open floor plan is highlighted with an actual wall of windows allowing unlimited opportunities for wildlife watching. Get a little closer to nature from the private outside hot tub where stargazing is practically a requirement. Inside the creature comforts are endless. Enjoy WIFI, a 42" HDTV flat screen TV with satellite service, wood-burning fireplace and well equipped kitchen. The cozy loft serves as extra kid space and provides a reading retreat for rainy days. So much privacy and comfort will surely be hard to leave but easy to return to in any season. Winter visitors please plan 4-wheel drive vehicles.

The Eagle has Landed
A guest from Cerulean, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in May, 2016 This was the best vacation rental ever! The cabin was so modern yet cozy, as it was nestled in the mountainside. We loved staying here and enjoying the beauty of nature.
Great place to get away and enjoy the mountain view.
Shams B. from Herndon, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2016 This was a great home. We had my family with a teenage boys and it was perfect. After long nice walk and climbing the hot tub was just what the doctor ordered!!;-)Staff were super nice people and made sure everything was just right. Thanks again!!
Louis D. from Palmyra, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2016 We have been to this area several times and love staying in the mountains of the Canaan Valey. This was by far the best place we have stayed in. The rental staff was polite and helpful. The house was clean and well maintained. The fire place was the best and there was more than enough wood stacked up outside. Getting in the hot tub in the snow was really neat too. It was warmed up and ready to go when we arrived. We would certainly come back here again and would have no problem booking through Best of Canaan for a return visit.
Janice F. from Thurmont, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2016 We were looking for a cabin, close to Timberline and the Canaan Valley ski resorts, that would be comfortable for us and three 15-year boys. Eagles Landing was perfect! We all enjoyed our stay and found it to be a wonderful getaway. Our only complaint,(and it's a small one), is the lack of water pressure when something else is running.
Erica T. from wellsboro, Pennsylvania recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2015 We loved this spot. We were away from the other properties and really enjoyed relaxing on the deck and in the hot tub.
Katherine S. from Coral Springs, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2015 Such a lovely house and we enjoyed the rustling of the trees to put us to sleep each night. The outdoor fire pit area was great for roasting marshmallows! The kitchen is well equipped. The view is like you're living in a tree house....all you see is trees and it's beautiful.
Margaret R. from Buckhannon, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 Had a wonderful time during our recent stay at Eagles Landing. The home was very clean and comfortable. Everything we wanted was included. The only complaints we had was the downstairs TV did not pick up as many channels as the upstairs and that the WIFI did not work at all. Other than that this is a great place to stay!
A guest from Dayton, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2015 This is a beautiful home in a very tranquil setting. The layout of the home was perfect for our needs. However, the furnishings were very dated. The 2 by 12 board supporting the sofa cushions made for very uncomfortable lounging. The kitchen pots and pans were well worn - almost to the point of being unsafe to use. Judging from the replacement boards on the siding, some updates are in progress. Hopefully, they will continue to the inside of the home. With some minor improvements this could be a perfect stay.
Leah C. from Dagsboro, Delaware recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2015 We stayed at the Eagles landing at the end of April 2015 and it was gorgeous! The house was very CLEAN! You could tell it had been well maintained. The interior was comfortable and warm and the view was awesome. There was plenty of extra towels, blankets, kitchen accessories ( even marshmallow sticks!) and all that really made our stay amazing. The fire pit was beside a small stream and my kids really liked that. We all enjoyed the hot tub every night. As a family we have stayed in many mountain rentals and this one was one of our favorites because it was so warm, clean and thoroughly maintained. We saw animals of every kind right outside the front windows and this as only in early spring- I couldn't imagine how beautiful this place is in winter and the summer time.
A guest from Streetsboro, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2015 The location (the house is set apart from other homes?secluded and private) and the property management company were great. The house is a little dated (older furniture, cracks in walls), and we found a few hairs in the bed that were not ours. The hot tub was a nice perk.
Property Manager Response: Response from Best of Canaan Thanks for taking time to review Eagles Landing. We think that the location and privacy of the house are great too! We wanted to let you know that the owners of the house are planning interior painting and drywall repair in the very near future. They are also looking at new living room furniture. We hope you will plan a time to return and see all of the wonderful changes.
Kristen H. from Canton, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2015 We had a great experience at Eagle's Landing. The home was very clean and well taken care of. The only problem we had was that we couldn't drive up the very steep driveway on our first night there due to snow and ice. The next day, however, someone came and plowed the driveway and we were able to drive up to the house.
Vonda E. from Charleston, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2014 The only thing that was the only problem was one of the queen mattresses was very uncomfortable other then that everything was great, just not a long enough stay.
Cathy K. from Benwood, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2014 My husband & I decided to take a long weekend and head to the mountains. We found the perfect place at the Eagles Landing. We plan to return next year. The only downfall was that the jets on the hot tub did not work - we contacted the property managers, who were very nice, they sent someone to look at the hot tub -- but it still did not work -- which is unfortunate because that is one of the main reasons we chose that property.
Jason V. from Export, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 We had the best time on our vacation! The house was clean, well - stocked with linens, cookware, utensils, books, & games. The wildlife around the house was amazing & fun to watch. We would definitely stay at this house again!
A guest from South Fork, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 The property is very open and clean. Well stocked with items that you would need. Very relaxing soaking under the stars in the hot tub. Would recommend this home if you want some quiet r and r.
Tina D. from Port Allegany, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in June, 2014 Wow, Wow, Wow! We had an excellant time. The house was perfect and we couldn't ask for a more peaceful location!
Teresa E. from Cumberland, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2014 Eagle's Landing was an awesome place and an awesome experience. I would go back tomorrow if I could. We totally enjoyed everything about it. The cabin and everything that went along with it was outstanding. I look forward to going back again soon. Also, the area is private and just beautiful. The staff at Best of Cannan were pleasant and great to deal with. I would give this total experience a 10+!!
A guest from Alexandria, Virginia recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2014 Eagles Landing is a perfect rental for a weekend getaway or a long vacation stay. It is just minutes from a variety of ski spots and during the winter it is just beautiful! I definitely recommend four wheel drive if there is going to be snow - the driveway is quite steep. Otherwise, the property was spotless, plenty of cookware to use, towels, wood for the fire, and more. The staff at Best of Canaan was also wonderful at answering questions and helping prepare for the stay.
Jim F. from Justin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2013 Eagle's Landing was a great rental. There was plenty of room for the family. The setting was also beautiful. It had snowed, but the roads were also well kept. It was a very good experience.
A guest from Marlinton, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2013 The house was as described, very clean and the kitchen was well stocked, the hot top was private and we enjoyed a fire at the fire pit. We had a great time and would return.
A guest from Lorton, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in October, 2013 Our stay was most excellent - loved every minute of our vacation. This was a perfect location to enjoy two seasons in 10 days: fall & winter. The house was in excellent shape (although the lamps could have been dusted better). But overall it was very clean. A broom would have been great to help sweep the leaves away. Some cleaning products (windex, 409, etc.) would also be good. When we couldn't get the TV to work, someone was there first thing in the morning to rememdy the situation. It's a GREAT place to rest and relax from the world and everyday life!!

Lauren S. from McLean, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 Incredible location, quiet and peaceful with close access to incredible hiking and lakes. House was perfect for small children. The only change we would suggest to the management/owners would be to supply the house with cleaning supplies in order to complete necessary washing of dishes/linens and dry firewood indoors. Loved it! Hope we can return annually.
Kevin B. from Herndon, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2013 Very nice and secluded property with easy access to Dolly Sods, Blackwater Falls and horse riding. When the DC temps are sweltering, Cabin Mountain offers a very welcome relief.
A guest from Harrisonburg, Virginia recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2013 This house was very clean and everything was in good condition. Very open floor plan and good sized bedrooms. There was so much to do in the the area. We had a great time. The house is in a wooded lot so no view, but very private.
A guest from Parkersburg, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 From check in to check out we had an excellent time at our Timberline resort. While at the house we and our 3 year old son enjoyed the hot tub, television, wi-fi, sleeping arrangements and the fire pit. Located nearby, our son took his first horseback rides, swam at Canaan Valley's lodge, visited Dolly Sods (mountaintop and bare rocks), and Blackwater Falls. It was a great week away from every day life.
A guest from Washington, DC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2013 We had a fantastic weekend getaway at Eagle's Landing. Though there was no snow to be had, we were able to literally walk up the hill behind the house and hit the trails in the Dolly Sods wilderness area. The hot tub was great once we realized you could ratchet up the temperature setting in the house (not just on the tub, which didn't make it hot enough to enjoy). The windows were fabulous and we spent many hours enjoying the views by the wonderful fireplace. Overall, an amazing weekend escape.
A guest from Saint Augustine Beach, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2012 The house is very conviently located to both timberline and canaan slopes. Grocery store is about 7 miles away and there are a few restaurants(did not go to any) Driveway is impossibly steep do not reccomend going to the top. Do not follow GPS instructions, stay on main paved roads at all times!!! The hot tub is awesome and we cooked out quite a bit. Make sure the main TV is fixed before you reserve, if you are a tv person. All in all a great time great house great location.
Robert M. from McLean, Virginia recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2012 Layout worked well, with extra TV 'room' in the loft, so virtually 2x living areas - good for larger groups. Located just a quick 5 mins to ski slopes. Spacious, comfortable, well equipped. Management company were helpful. Driveway requires chains and 4x4 together - or a brave driver. Quite steep on the way down. We just parked at the bottom of the driveway most of the time. Would stay again definitely.
Jack K. from Wheeling, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 We had a really nice time. The cabin was beautiful and so was the view. We had a few racoons coming for food, (we did not feed them) but maybe past guests have.
