Great Weekend Getaway!
A guest from San Angelo, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2016 We rented this property at the last minute and are so glad we did! There was plenty of space for our family of 5. The Master bedroom and bath was very comfortable. Each of our children had their own room with TV, which they thought was a real treat. The kitchen was stocked with all the items we needed for cooking. There aren't any disposables, like Ziploc bags, in case you are in need of that. Very clean and comfortable. The back porch was across from the pool so the kids could go swim. Very nice stay!
Sarah B. from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2016 Our stay in our little Sunrise Cottage was fantastic! Upon arriving, everything was incredibly clean and well stocked. We had plenty of room in the house and really loved the hardwood floors on the top floor. The pool in the center of all the cottages provided a great hangout for us while we were at the house and not at the beach. Would definitely stay here again!
christopher o. from austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2013 House was clean and tidy and the location was fantastic! Master bed was also rather comfortable. A couple of things that could definitely use some attention are relatively minor but annoying. For instance, no plastic wrap or aluminum foil in the house so should you plan on cooking and having any leftovers, think ahead. Also, no soap dishes in the showers so no place to put shampoo, soap, body wash, etc. unless you put it on the shower floor? Lastly, no Wi-Fi service in the unit seems a bit dated but definitely not a deal breaker. But the biggest area for improvement is the living room furniture: a smallish couch and single arm chair only and both are rather uncomfortable. Outside of this, the decor was very beach appropriate and in good taste. If you're looking for stellar location (close to IGA, Stingrays, Bernie's, Port A Brewing Co. etc.) this is definitely the spot for you. If you're looking for above and beyond creature comforts, this location may not fit the bill...
A guest from Sequin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2013 Convenient in-town location. Clean. Reasonable price. Friendly staff. Furnishings a little weak. No mirrors in bedrooms. No place for soap, shampoo etc in shower. Thin walls.
Nina C. from San Antonio, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 We rented an accommodation that represented it could accommodate 10 people. You would think that if a facility would accommodate 10 people that the appliances would be adequate to store food for 10 people. The refrigerator would not cool down properly and the freezer NEVER worked. In fact, we left food in the freezer that was dessert food that thawed out completely and never refroze. When we called the property management company they said to remove some of the food from the refrigerator and freezer and put it in an ice chest because sometimes the refrigerators can't accommodate filling an empty refrigerator with so much food. They said they would have someone out there the next day to check it. We took turns during our FAMILY VACATION to wait for the repairman. He/She never came, never called, we never received a follow up phone call from the property management company to inquire about the appliance. So my response is....REALLY - you have an inadequate food storage appliance even though you expect a party of 10 would have a significant amount of food....and you tell us to put it in ice chests? We could have camped on the beach for that recommendation and kept all of our food in coolers.
Lisa B. from Rhome, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2013 We were pleased with our stay at Portofino. The house was very spacious for the 6 of us. The only thing is the walls are so thin you can hear everything, even when someones phone is on the floor upstairs you could hear it vibrate downstairs. And then we ended up with neighbors that packed a whole community into the house next door & they stayed in the pool playing their music til 1:00 & 2:00 in the morning. That was frustrating because we could hear it all.And the rosemary bush in front of the air conditioning unit needs to be trimmed. It's getting a little out of hand since that's the only way guests can come & go. Those are the only few things that any of us complained about. Over all it was a very pleasant stay & the house was decorated really cute.
Susan G. from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2013 It was a good home overall. The patio furniture and patio were beat and should be trashed and the patio area was dirty. Also the landscaping was overgrown and blocked the walkways. Otherwise the house was great.
Nina O. from Austin, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2013 The house was so clean and neat. Enough room for everybody. Loved being so close to the beach and stores. We will be staying again!
A guest from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 Everything was clean and the location makes it convenient to everything in Port A. My only issue was that we did not have access to the garage, the pantry and a closet upstairs as these were all locked and could not be opened. Similar properties in the area seem to have access to the garage.
Cody A. from Imperial, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 My friends and I have been going to Port A for the last 7 years. This was our first year not to stay in a hotel. The condo was great and very clean. Plenty of room for everyone. There were seven of us. Will be staying there again.
A guest from marion, iowa recommends this property. Stayed for 69 days in December, 2012 This facility is probably great for a young family or very mobile people. My comments reflect the views of an older couple with limited mobility. 1. Curb is to high and vehicle scraped paving going in and out. (Cheap builder)2. Rock entry walkway not good for unstable walker. (Cheap builder)3. Refrigerator door faced wrong direction. Not owner fault. (Cheap builder)4. I actually had to laugh at the first motel we stopped at on our return home. After 69 days, I could actually see my face while shaving. The lights in the master bath are set behind the person using the lavatory, making shaving and I'm sure makeup application a problem. ( Cheap builder)5. The 17 steps to the second floor were pure torture for my wife. Not anyone's fault, just old age.
A guest from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 Had a group of friends meet here for the weekend. Everyone loved the place, the closeness to the beach and the pool right in our backyard. We're already talking of making it a yearly trip!
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in August, 2012 We had a total of 8 people in the house, there was plenty of room and very clean. Our only complaint is that the garage and pantry in the kitchen where locked and we didn't have access to them. It wouldn't have been such an issue if they had stated in the description that those areas where not included, especially the kitchen pantry, we stayed for ten days and had to store all of our food on the counter tops. Overall our experience was good.
