Chris T. from Dixon, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in June, 2016 We recently stayed at Shipwrecks Beach Cottage. The house is in excellent shape and the location could not be better. Our family had a wonderful time and the staff at Poipu 365 were incredible. We will be back for sure!
Michael T. from Monroeville, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2016 We stayed at Shipwrecks cottage June 6-13. Great location as this was our home base as we explored the beautiful Island of Kauai. Fabulous vacation and so overdue for our family. We had plenty of room for our family of 6. There was a glitch at the end of our stay as the propane ran out. But the wonderful property management took care of it in a timely matter. Cheers to Vicki. My only big suggestion is to put a portable A/C unit in bedrooms on first floor. We didn't seem to get the best breezes through the house. All in all A wonderful experience. I hope we are able to return someday and would definitely want to stay here. again.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Mahalo Michael! Thank you so much for your valuable comments. We appreciate your feedback and are happy you enjoyed your stay. Please visit us again soon.
Robin M. from Lafayette, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2016 Shipwrecks cottage was perfect for the 6 of us. We loved being able to walk over to the Hyatt, and the ocean view from the deck is beautiful. The kids loved all the beach toys, and the adults had everything we needed! We will definitely be back.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay at Shipwrecks. We can't wait for you to return to our lovely island. Mahalo for taking the time out to write a review.
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2016 We stayed at Shipwrecks Beach Cottage while I attended a conference at the Hyatt next door. The convenience of the location was perfect. I could be at the conference in a 5 minute stroll through beautiful grounds. Brought my 2 kids (3 and 10 months) and grandparents. We all had plenty of space and privacy. The service was excellent. We did not have a pool key and it was delivered by Poipu365 immediately. The views were amazing. We saw whales from the deck! The kitchen was well stocked. Only complaint is that all 3 DVDs were not working. But we hardly noticed since we were always exhausted from perfect days at the beach or pool! Would definitely stay here again.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Thank you Naomi for taking the time our to write your review. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Shipwrecks.
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in January, 2016 Shipwrecks Cottage completely lived up to our expectations for a beautiful and comfortable base for our family vacation in Kauai and, in some cases even exceeded our expectations. The house is exactly as pictured - clean, comfortable and well located. Everything you could possibly need is provided - linens, loads and loads of towels, beach equipment for adults and children, a well stocked kitchen, barbecue, toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels , shampoo and conditioner.... just bring your groceries and you're all set. A true home away from home. We rented a crib, car seat stroller and hiking backpack for our 15 month old and it was all waiting at the house for us when we arrived. The master bedroom suite is large and air conditioned and we slept there with our son in the crib. My sister and my parents took the smaller bedrooms and shared a huge bathroom. Those bedrooms and the main living space are not air conditioned but in late Jan/early Feb, we were more than comfortable. There are ceiling fans all over the house and many large fans stored in the house if needed. The pool designated for our use is generally empty and we mostly had it and the hot tub to ourselves. It is about a 10 minute walk through Poipu Kai resort. Poipu Beach is right there as well which is a great beach for little kids. The view from the lanai of the house is beautiful and the beach, the Grand Hyatt and the beginning of fabulous heritage trail hike is just steps away.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Rebecca, we are so happy to hear that your stay at Shipwrecks was enjoyable. We hope that when you plan your next Kauai adventure, you will consider renting our lovely cottage again. Mahalo for taking the time out to write your review.
A guest from Phoenix, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2016 Spent my 50th on Kauai with my husband, kids and significant others. The set up in the house was perfect! Master bedroom upstairs and the kids each had a room on the lower level. The location of the home is perfect! Private, and a wonderful view of the ocean. It is also located within walking distance of the Grand Hyatt, where there are hammocks and benches. We sat and watched the whales from the shoreline. All of the amenities you need are included in the home as well. Could not have had a better pick for our stay on Kauai! Highly recommend!
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 We appreciate that you enjoyed your holiday. We hope that you will come again and stay. Mahalo for taking the time out to write this wonderful review.
Fabien F. from PUDONG, SHANGHAI recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in December, 2015 We stayed 11 nights in this wonderful Cottage located in one of the best spot of Kauai. There is nothing wrong to say about this rental. Everything was simply perfect from the beginning to the end.Nice location with a wonderfull beach for our 4 children very close (Poipu beach park), nice house with plenty of space inside and outside. We enjoyed so much the location that we even forgot to leave the house on the right day... After a day at the beach we came back and discovered our mistake... As we missed our flight, the management company (Poipu 365) already prepared another possible spot for us to stay... But luckily we founded a Lat flight and leaves the island... Later but as planned...All this explanation to say that on top of a wonderfull house, we had a wonderful management company who was so nice with us.Once again thank you Vicky for all the care and support you gave to us.Our stay would never been as memorable without Your help.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Fabien, thank you for your wonderful review. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again in the future. Mahalo and have an amazing year!
Thomas S T. from Fullerton, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in May, 2015 We just returned from Shipwrecks beach cottage on Kauai in PoiPu. Awesome location. The house was well equipped. We had a great stay in the spacious 3bd 2 1/2 bath house. Everything we needed was there to use. They even have a great selection of Beach chairs towels etc. The only complaint is that the house is showing some wear and tear fromBeing a rental. The Blinds in master bedroom all had broken rotation sticks so you had to do it with your fingers. The couches in living area are tired and need replacing. The kitchen has a broken light fixture over the kitchen sink. But that was it. Minor things. Awesome place to stay.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Thomas, thank you for informing us of the taking the time to make a list for us. We will let the owner know of the needed repairs. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again real soon.
A guest from Vancouver, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in April, 2015 Gorgeous home and lovely setting! We are not picky people, but "events" were too many for the $$ we paid. 1. Carpet cleaner there when we arrived. Had to walk on/unload/unpack on wet carpets for 8 hours. 2. Barbecue needed to be rebuilt. This took 2 days. 3. No propane to the home, I.e. no stove, no hot water. 4. Propane filled, but pilot light not initiated. Another call...Vicki was prompt in dealing with the issues, but never once apologized for anything and for our inconvenience.
A guest from Bainbridge Island, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2015 We fully enjoyed our stay at Shipwrecks beach Cottage. The location was great, the house was immaculate and the unit contained all the desired necessities (kitchen accessories, beach chairs, towels, etc). There were a few items needing repair: 1)one stove burner not working, 2)downstairs shower leaked, 3)something smelled in laundry room, 4)mattress in master was uneven with hump in middle. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come again.
A guest from Denver, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2015 This home was well situated, very comfortable and well stocked. There was a problem with the televisions, but Nick was very helpful in addressing the problem.
Gail M. from Mill Valley, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in February, 2015 Our family of 6, 2 seniors, 2children and parents loved the cottage. Viki, the manager was very helpful and even brought us beautiful flowers. It was nice being next to the Hyatt for the lovely grounds, restaurants and other amenities. would stay there again!
A guest from Waban, Massachusetts recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2015 Location, location, location: all perfect. On a quiet, dead-end street, with a clear view to the ocean (and occasional whale) albeit not right on the beach; short drive to Koloa town, restaurants, market, etc.; reasonable drive to both Waimea Canyon and north shore hiking trails. The house was spotless and very comfortable, with very well-equipped kitchen. Only complaint: the master BR gets stuffy and hot (unlike the rest of the house) and needed A/C, which was very noisy. A few minor problems arose, and were solved quickly by the very friendly and helpful Poipu365 staff.
Verlie L. from Roseville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2015 We had a wonderful experience! We couldn't believe how beautiful the home and the location was. It was clean & all the amenities were there. We have shared our experience and this home with many of our friends. We definitely want to come back! Thank you so much!
Richard B. from Edmonton, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in December, 2014 We had an amazing time with our family at this cottage. We enjoyed every morning on the patio watching whales, soaking in the sun, and drinking Kauai Coffee to the sounds of the birds. The place was magnificent and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could need! Comfortable beds, along with all the beach toys the kids could need to play with makes this cottage our little Oasis.
A guest from Bozeman, MT recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2014 I would come back to this cottage. It would be nice to see updated appliances and the dishwasher anchored to the counter top. Check for burned out light bulbs (2), paper holders in master and 1/2 bath are loose & TV remote in master bdrm doesn't work properly (not batteries). These things didn't detract from the overall experience , but were an annoyance.
Nancy L. from Del Mar, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2014 Had a fantastic Thanksgiving week at Shipwreck's Beach Cottage. The location was perfect as a launching spot for activities, going to restaurants in the Poipu area, relaxing at the house & enjoying the shortwalking distance to the Grand Kauai Hyatt & Shipwreck's Beach. The house was beautiful & the view was great. It was a touch noisy - just because we had a family w/ small children who were quite loud next to us. No noise from the Hyatt employee parking lot to speak of. The house is equipped with "toys" for the beach & plenty of towels & linens. The furniture is basic Hawaiian beach rattan which is perfect for the house. The patio has a great table & 4 chair combo, 2 lounges & a gas grille. The kitchen has everything you need to do basic cooking, although the stove & oven are not in the best of shape. And the refrigerator needed to "cool down" when we first arrived. Being a cook, I would've wanted more & better cooking equipment, but that's just me.The only "AC" in the MBD is a swamp cooler that has seen better days. There are ceiling fans in every room & additional fans that can be used in every room. We used all of them as the weather was in the 80's all week. I do think that they could use blinds either in the main room or on the patio to cut some of the heat when the sun shines in that area. Great restaurants: Merriman's (upstairs $$$ & down $), SavageShrimp - cash only, Koloa Fish - great plate lunches, Bubba's, Jo-Jo Shaved Ice on way to Waimea. Activities: O'Hana Fishing, Captain Andy's & Kipu Ranch ATV Overall, our party of 5 adults loved our stay. We would easily do it again without reservation.
Debbie D. from Tacoma, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2014 This home is outstanding. Awesome view of the ocean. Convenient to everything! This home was immaculate!!! Every amenity that you could possibly want was provided. Décor was bright and cheery. Open beautiful living space. Comfortable furniture, inside and out. This home is Perfect!
A guest from Cherry Hills Village, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2014 This is a lovely, nicely decorated and well furnished cottage in a quiet neighborhood adjacent to the Grand Hyatt Resort property and a 2 minute walk to the ocean. A really nice location 2 minutes to the beautiful Poipu Golf Course and 5 minutes to several really good restaurants. The only down side to the house was the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms (the was a unit only in the master and it didn't work well). Could have used more fans to get air moving at night. The pool accessibility was a little complicated-about a 10 minute walk or a 1 minute car ride from the house. Was warned by rental company to keep doors locked but that was not a problem. Overall, a great property. Thanks.
Jeff Colleen G. from Sherman Oaks, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 30 days in July, 2014 The trade winds embrace you on the expansive lanai while viewing the direct ocean views! Every amenity is at your fingertips from the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and family room. The space afforded you in this home, allows to you to spread out and relax! The proximity to the Grand Hyatt Kauai is an added perk to enjoy its restaurants and Anara Spa! The Green Belt walking path is directly out your lushly planted front yard affording you walks to Brennecke's Beach for sunsets or Shipwreck's Beach for sunrises. Poipu Kai's pool and tennis courts are a short walk for refreshment and exercise. The management and owners are always available and conscientious. The best vacation experience we have ever experienced. Thank you Poipu 365 and Shipwrecks Beach Cottage!
Cynthia A. H. from Tucson, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in March, 2014 We needed a "home base" for family & friends for our daughter's wedding next door at the Grand Hyatt. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit for us. Gorgeous open floor plan perfect for family gatherings, beautiful views from the lanai and so convenient to all the happenings at the Grand Hyatt. The master bedroom bed was incredible comfortable too! We loved how updated this house was and the huge kitchen island. The renting process was so simple, and this was a first time for us to rent a home like this. We will definitely be back since Kauai is our favorite place!
Jane B. B. from Carpentersville, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2014 I was very nervous renting a home without a personal recommendation but to my surprise Shipwreck was everything it was promised to be. The home is perfect for three couple or a family, great porch with beautiful views, fully equipped kitchen, not fancy but comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring the island. The pool is small and a bit of a walk but the beach is close. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
Steven R. L. from Farnhamville, IA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2014 We loved this house and the location was perfect; so quiet and yet so close to the ocean! The deck was certainly a highlight as we enjoyed our morning coffee while watching whales. They had everything we needed such as towels, soaps, shampoo, conditioners, hair dryers, extra linens and blankets. The laundry facilities were probably appreciated the most. We would highly reccomend this beautiful house!
Kim H. from Renton, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2014 Shipwrecks cottage is a modern, well appointed, clean, comfortable home ideally located a few hundred yards from the beach. It's a bit of a hike for the very young from boogie boarding and snorkeling (Brennecke and Poipu State Park) but certainly doable. We really liked being central on the island as it made it possible to head west or east/north for hikes and less crowded beaches as the weather dictated. We were told that the house didn't have boogie boards so we bought some at Costco on the way in--turned out that chairs and boogie boards were in a bedroom closet. I'd check before buying next time. Only the master bedroom has AC, so summertime could get hot but for winter it was fine. No worries about the parking lot (almost no traffic in there) but be aware it's in a close neighborhood and the house 'right behind' entertained nightly. Not disturbing, but you are aware that you're not in the middle of nowhere! I marked down the cleanliness only because the carpets could use a shampoo but after all, it's a beach house. Otherwise it was spotless with plenty of clean linen. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay with our 20something kids.
Allan R. from Potomac, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2013 Beautiful house, great location and very well managed. Some suggestions: the downstairs bedrooms get hot and need air conditioning. The house instructions should mention the beach accessories in the downstairs bedroom closet. We did not find them until near the end of our stay.
Janet P. from Chicago, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2013 We had a wonderful stay - fantastic location for everything Kauai has to offer. Magnificent sunrises, walking distance to several restaurants and fabulous beaches and golfing. Having the Hyatt Spa next door is nice too! Don't forget a sunset or snorkel cruise on Kauai Sea Tours of the Napili Coast!
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2013 We had a wonderful time in Shipwreck Cottage enjoying views from the great room and the lanai. As the house is centrally located on a hill behind Poipu Point, we were able to walk to beaches and tennis. The kitchen is well supplied with dishes, utensils, and pans so we relaxed around family meals at the dining table and on the lanai. The cottage provided a very comfortable base for our numerous adventures to Wamiea Canyon, the North Shore and the West Coast beaches as well as short trips to Brennecke"s Beach for a swim or watching a sunset.
A guest from Bright's Grove, ONT recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in November, 2013 We had a great time during our stay in Kauai. The cottage was fantastic. Easy access to the beach and some great hiking trails.
Patricia W. from Winnepeg, Manitoba recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in September, 2013 We were attending a family wedding at the Grand Hyatt Poipu Location was perfect walkingdistance not to mention the Coconut Latte's at the Hyatt. A series of beaches were within walking distance. Thank you for a great holiday and celebration!!!!!
David T. from Irvine, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 Shipwreck's Cottage was wonderful. The decor is beautiful and the home had plenty of room for our family of six. We always rent homes when on vacation and this was one of the best. It was very clean and well maintained and had every possible kitchen utensil you might need. The Poipu 356 staff were great to work with and even greeted us with fresh flowers! We would definitely come back.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Aloha David, Mahalo for your observations about Shipwrecks Beach Cottage. It is roomy and well-stocked! We hope you will return to Shipwrecks Beach Cottage soon!
Cindy S. from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2013 We spent a wonderful week in this home (June 2013) and would definitely go back! The home is full stocked! We didn't even need to bring shampoo/conditioner or body wash or hair dryer because it was all provided! They also realized that people like different types of pillows and had extra pillows available! The location of the home was perfect as it was centrally located for all the activities that we wanted to do. Loved it!
Garry B. from Monroe, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in January, 2013 Our vacation was a reat experience. The combination of ammentities access and independence could hardly be better. We enjoyed whale watching, sea turtles, zip lining, kayaking, hiking and lounge chair surfing - - - a wonderful balance. Our neighbor / The Grand Hayatt has so much to offer and we also enjoyed barbecuing on the deck. We particularly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere the entire island exudes
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Aloha Garry,Mahalo for your review! We are so glad you enjoyed Kauai and especially Poipu and Shipwrecks Beach Cottage! We look forward to reserving it for your next visit!
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in January, 2013 Had a great time at the house; very well maintained and will definitely stay there again. Make sure you check out Poipu Beach Park, much more family friendly than Shipwreck Beach.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Aloha Alex,Mahalo for your review! We are glad you enjoyed Shipwrecks Beach Cottage and we will be waiting to reserve it for you again on your next Poipu getaway!
Cynthia D. from Eugene, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2013 This is a beautiful home in a great location. Unbelievably there are both sunrise and sunset views of the beach although you are back from the water. The house is lovely and well stocked. It is a short walk to Shipwreck Beach. Great hiking trail from Shipwreck to the east. Closer to the Hyatt conference rooms then some of the Hyatt guest rooms are.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Aloha Cynthia, Mahalo for your review; we concur in the sunrise and sunset views! The owners take great pride in their home and it shows as it is constantly being upgraded.
A guest from Snohomish, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in December, 2012 This home has lots of room and it is located very close to Shipwreck Beach. The guest bedrooms could use a little upgrading, but the master bedroom is quite lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Aloha Shaerie,The closeness to Shipwrecks Beach makes this home very special! So glad you enjoyed your stay there and we look forward to reserving it for your next Poipu vacation!
Jennifer L. from Glendale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2012 We had a lovely week at the cottage. It is beautiful and very comfortable. Only suggestions would be to put more lighting on the porch, it's hard to BBQ in the dark, a better coffee pot wouldn't hurt either but these were the only negatives and we highly recommend it.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Aloha Jennifer,Mahalo for your comments! We are very glad you enjoyed your stay! The porch lighting has been upgraded and the new coffee pot is on its way! We look forward to booking Shipwrecks Cottage for your next Poipu getaway!
Chez M. from Burbank, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in June, 2012 Wonderful! Only minor bummer was the home's proximity to the Hyatt's parking lot, but ultimately it wasn't so bad. The ocean view made up for the lot!
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Mahalo for your comments. Fortunately the Hyatt has round the clock security in the employee parking lot which is why you didn't have a problem. The hedges and distance from Shipwrecks Cottage also serve as a sufficient noise/view barrier from the one window in the house that faces in that direction.
A guest from Etobicoke, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2012 I love the Poipu area and I have been interested in buying a home in this area. Until I do however, I appreciate the opportunity to stay in great rentals like Shipwreck Cottage. This cottage comes fully equipped and even stocked with spices left by other renters. The location is right on the Poipu Kai green-belt and just back of the ocean-front. It has an excellent ocean view. That it is positioned across a hedge from a large hotel employee parking lot was off-putting to me when I first realized this but quite honestly the car noise is no greater than that on a private residential street. In fact, the only time that you hear anything at all is at the 7AM shift start and in my experience, even this was minimal; a few car motors and perhaps a car door.
Property Manager Response: Response from Poipu 365 Mahalo for your review John. The Hyatt does a great job of providing round the clock security at their employee parking lot and the distance and the hedges do a great job of screening the lot from the one window in the house that faces that direction. Hope to see you again very soon!

A guest from San Rafael, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2011 Beautiful, comfortable, restful, exotic. Lovely home in Poipu. Minor issue: a long walk to tennis courts/swimming pool.
