Katie C. from Saint Helens, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2016 I loved this cabin. My family and I have rented a lot of cabins in the Waldport area, and liked most of them, but this one was amazing!!!! The walk way to the beach was just beautiful. Really enjoyed our stay!
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC Great, thanks so much!
A guest from Medford, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2016 We had a wonderful time. The house was clean and perfect size for our group. The property management was great. If I was able to make changes to this home there would be two things I would do. First I would provide better seating in the living room. There was one couch and it was not facing out so you can see the ocean and the only recliner was behind the couch. It made it very difficult to sit around and visit with each other. They did have the dining table chairs to sit in but they were hard plastic and uncomfortable to sit in for hanging out and visiting. The other thing I would do is trim the bushes so that you can see the ocean better. There is a great view of the ocean but the bushes limit the great view. I put a 4 on cleanliness only because the house could use a fresh coat of paint inside. I really like the lay out of the house. It makes it very cozy. They had a great play room as well. We did not get to use it due to being so busy doing other fun stuff. But would be great for families. We also love the covered patio. All in all nice home.
A guest from Hines, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2016 The house was very nice & cozy, Close to the beach with a private hidden walk. With Pool, foosball & ping pong, there was lots of enjoyment to be had. Everyone enjoyed.
A guest from Eugene, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2016 Great house with a beautiful view, we always enjoy the houses we rent from Bayshore. Sandpiper cottage is a comfortable house for both human and dog guests.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC We are so glad that your family (two and four legged) enjoyed there stay!
Damon C. from Pendleton, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2016 We stayed for three nights. Very clean house, lots of room for everyone, loved the rec room, very comfortable beds. Although the weather didn't cooperate, Wes felt very safe during the storm. Very quiet neighborhood.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC Thanks for coming, come back soon!
A guest from Eugene, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2015 This was our first stay at Sandpiper Cottage... very nicely updated property. The covered patio faces south and west and is great for being outdoors, even in late November. Very comfortable sleeping rooms; easy access to the beach; great views of tides and whale spouts; kitchen is well equipped for cooking/baking. The rec room was a lot of fun, too! Would love to come back and stay for a whole week!!!!!
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC The owner has just recently updated all the beds and most furniture. We are so glad you could enjoy the home, it's definitely looking so nice and in great shape.
Lisa R. from Washougal, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2015 Beautiful home with all the amenities. The view is gorgeous and love the neighborhood. We didn't want to leave. We will definitely stay here again. Also, easy beach access!!
A guest from Springfield, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2015 We enjoyed a beautiful panoramic view of the ocean sitting in this very open concept home.Weekend activities included Fall Kite Festival in Lincoln City, relay races in Yachats and flying our kites on the beach by our house. The property was very clean and fresh, newer furniture, warm and welcoming. The owner and managers always make our stay so comfortable.Definitely recommend this house and hope to stay again.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2015 The house was very clean and comfortable for the five of us. My teenagers enjoyed the games room, and the easy access to the beach - a cute path thru the bushes, across a bit of grasses and onto the beach. Very clean house, very well stocked with all the basics for cooking (spices, condiments in fridge, flour, sugar etc), very professional company. Will stay here again.
MaryAnn P. from Hayward, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2015 Once again, had a wonderfully relaxing time in Sandpiper Cottage, to re-charge and rejuvenate from daily stresses in the Bay Area. The house was clean, and we appreciated the new deck furniture on the north deck, very nice.Bayshore staff are always helpful. So thank you once again for a wonderful vacation.Mary Ann and TonyP.S. may need a new sofa, that one has been there since 1997 when we first visited this beach house.
A guest from Marietta, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2015 The property surpassed our expectations in terms of location, ambience and amenities. We wanted a casual, comfortable cottage with beach access, great views and all the comforts of home (WiFi was a must) - Sandpiper Cottage really delivered. The property was well-designed for our needs, clean and well-maintained. We practically lived on the "split" deck - Loved the lounging area and ate most family meals in the secluded dining area. We would absolutely recommend this property and hope to return to create more magical memories with our family!
A guest from Boise, Idaho recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 We had a wonderful stay. The location was excellent with the ocean and beach a short walk away. The cottage is prettier than the pictures on website. Newer outdoor furniture was very nice on north deck. Our kids enjoyed the rec room. We will definitely stay there again.
Michelle H. from Half Moon Bay, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2015 We spent a week in July at Sandpiper Cottage and loved it! It was a great place for our family to stay and you couldn't beat the amazing view of the beach and ocean. The house was clean and well cared for, and the kitchen was stocked nicely with everything we would need for the week. I highly recommend it and look forward to staying there again during our next visit to Oregon.
Ault M. from Sandy, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2015 House is perfectly located between towns, and right on the beach. Perfect for animal watching. Inside the house is simple and neat, with a great floor plan. Makes things very easy. Nice game room! Feels like at home but right on the beach
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC Thanks for your wonderful review, we hope you will return again soon.
Elizabeth S. from Prospect, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2015 Came back to Sandpiper for a 2nd visit. (Was last there 3 years ago for a girls weekend getaway). This time, brought husband and some close friends of ours, and our 2 dogs. Loved seeing some updates to the place, like the additional dock out back, and a new front door. Spent the weekend checking out the coast, all the way up to Lincoln City. Nothing beats the beach here tho!! Too many people in LC, and we love the quietness of the beach at the rental. Only saw 2 other people on our 3 mile early morning walk. Can't wait to come back again.
A guest from Lyons, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2015 Our time at the coast was nice. The weather was great and made walking on the beach wonderful. The house was comfortable and clean. Great view of the ocean. The queen bed downstairs was actually pretty comfortable. We didn't use the upstairs bed because our dog doesn't do stairs very well. We played pool which I hadn't done in years. The house could use some update but it was better then some we have rented in the past. Will come back again. The rental people are very easy to work with.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC Th owners are very interested in making the home the best it can be, they have done a lot of updates recently.
A guest from White City, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2015 The house was lovely. The view was gorgeous and the game room was a big hit with the kids. A perfect place for a family getaway!
Chris A. from Redmond, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2015 It was the BEST vaction yet. The house was very clean and super nice with great views. Will stay in this one again. Bayshore is the best we have found for coast rentals. Thank you so much.
A guest from Monmouth, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2014 Everything was great. The only things I would suggest would be to have another cutting board other than the wooden one for sanitation reasons.Other than that, we were all able to relax, enjoy ourselves and watch the waves.
Tomi B. from John Day, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in September, 2014 We loved this rental. It was perfect for us. (me and my two sons) We loved the beach being so close and almost all to ourselves. We also liked the game room. The sunsets are awesome to watch. The only thing I would change is to finish the path to the sand. We enjoyed The Newport Aquarium and whale watching at Depoe Bay-(being so close) We definitely would stay here again!
Dawn B. from Klacamas, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 Sandpiper was a cozy, convenient place to stay with great ocean views and access. It was a little older feeling but had the modern amenities and accommodated us very well. Could have used a table that actually sat 6, another comfortable chair in the living room, new twin mattresses as they were pretty uncomfortable and the mold managed around the lower level tub. We enjoyed using the pool table. It had all the kitchen gear we needed and was willing to let us bring a dog which we didn't end up doing but it was great to know we could have.
A guest from Corvallis, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2014 We all enjoyed our stay at Sandpiper Cottage. The view of the ocean and beach was spectacular and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck. The children had a grand time on the beach, digging in the sand, running away from the waves and flying kites. The adults enjoyed long walks up and down the beach. The garage with the ping pong table etc. was good entertainment when we weren't on the beach. The access to the beach was fine for the younger people and quite manageable for an 82 year old. The property description was accurate, it was clean and well maintained. The manager provided good customer service and I would recommend this property to others. The location was good for exploring the area south of Newport such as Seal Rock and Cape Perpetua.
A guest from Oregon City, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 Beautiful view of ocean and very comfortable home. The beach right in front of house is a little boggy. Just a short walk down the street was a better access to beach.
A guest from Hayward, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 It was okay, not as good as in previous year's due to the numerous fruit flies. Decorative items placed on the kitchen table had dog hairs from previous renters, so I removed the tray and pitcher from the table for our 1 week stay. Not sure what the huge planter box in the middle of the front yard is for, not very attractive, perhaps it will be better when finished? Quite a few urine stains on the master bedroom carpet, and scratches on the inside garage door liked someone left their dogs in the garage...sad for the dogs. Mold in downstairs bathtub/shower. We paid an extra $75 for carpet cleaning, and the carpet was not clean to begin with, not quite fair, but we paid for our elderly dog's accidents. Bird poop, sand and dog hair on back deck outside master bedroom sliding glass doors (last year we cleaned it up, this year we didn't bother). Still love the beautiful view.
A guest from Billings, MT recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 The home is pleasant, has two outdoor porches that are sheltered from the wind both north and south. View lovely, access to the beach is just a half block from the driveway. Sound, deep sleep at nights, after stargazing from the porch. Perfect.
Bob J. from Eugene, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 We have been renting this house for one week each summer for years. We are always pleased with the house, the location, Bayshore Rental; everything about it. We thoroughly enjoy our week and have 2015 reserved already. Thank you.
A guest from Bellevue, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 Came here with a group of friends (6 Adults) and had a great time! The pictures don't do the place justice - it's much more spacious and newer looking. The best part of the house, of course, is its location: very close to the beach! Like other reviews have said, the walk to the beach from the house isn't the most secure so be prepared for a little "off roading" in the form of walking across small logs + large puddles; the walk back at night can be a tricky too and takes a little extra maneuvering, but is all very doable! We spent majority of the time out on the beach since we had great weather. During our weekend there, we didn't run into too many people and it felt rather private because of that. At night, we did a beach fire, which combined with ocean waves in the background - you just can't beat that! The house itself is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked with all kinds of cookware. The garage/playroom is also relatively spacious and we utilized it when it started raining at one point. Rooms have small TVs in them, which was nice (though I don't think any of us spent of enough time indoors to really use them). Bathrooms and closets are also well stocked with towels and linens.Stopped by town to pick up a few things we'd forgotten and didn't find too many shops/things to do - definitely better off enjoying the house + beach. Picking up/dropping off the keys was very easy to do; apart from that, didn't have too much interaction with the rental company.Overall, a very nice house on a very lovely beach :)
A guest from Salem, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2014 Beautiful view with easy beach access. Convenient layout and especially appreciated the game room and pet friendly accommodation. Property manager is especially professional and gracious.Thank you.
Andy R. from Redmond, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2014 We had completed the survey already, but will try again. The only problem we had was the toilet plugged up on our last night. Otherwise, we love the house and view. Very cozy house.
A guest from Philomath, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2014 This rental worked great for my family (4 adults/2 toddlers and pet.) A front entry foyer is convenient for depositing wet or sandy apparel. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and place settings,The bed/bedding is comfortable. The big paned windows are perfect for viewing the beach and ocean. For a simple, clean rental this fit the bill.
Tarah M. from Sandy, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2014 The House is located very close to Waldport about 10 min and was amazing with 3 huge full sized living room windows to watch the beach which was just feet away from the back door. Comfortable furnishings and fire place made us feel literally right at home! It was a great ranch style layout and suited my elderly disabled grandparents needs perfectly! Also included was a gift certificate for 1 pound of fudge from great little shop called Indulge in Seal Rock. The fudge was good the "Sinful Brownies" even better. What a sweet treat. We loved our experience here and look forward to another very soon!
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC So glad you enjoyed your vacation. The owner of the home treats her guests to the chocolate, and the "Evil" brownies that can be purchased at the Indulge Chocolate Shop in Seal Rock make even a stormy day better!
A guest from Keizer, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2014 Great cozy clean house right at the beach! Will definitely return! Only improvement would be a more secure beach access.
Jessica J. from Lebanon, OR - Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2014 The outside of the house doesn't look like all that special, but the interior is beautiful and comfortable for a small family. Great view. The house can sleep 6 but the kitchen is small and 6 may be a couple of people too many. The walk to the beach needs to be improved. Currently, it is a little squishy and in spots precarious. But it is right on the beach so the path isn't a big deal.Overall wonderful place and we will rent it again.
Leanne F. from Springfield, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2013 We had a wonderful time. The view was awesome and the home is clean and very well stocked. This was a great house for my aging parents as well. My husband wondered what the big concrete deal was in the front yard that is not in the picture but it didn't effect our stay as the backyard is the best view!!! We have stayed in "pet" houses before and this beats them all. NO smells and very very clean. We have stayed at Bayshore Rental houses before and once again the office gals are wondeful and very accomodating!! THANK YOU.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC The big structure is actually an above ground septic drainfield. It's a new addition, thanks to Lincoln County and their strict placement laws of septic tanks. LaFortune home has the same structure in the front yard, they are definintely not becoming to the landscaping to say the least. Maybe one of these days Bayshore and Sandpiper neighborhoods will be able to have actual sewer lines but until that time we are stuck with those awful tanks. Thanks for the positive comments about our company, we hope you will come back again soon.
James P. from Oregon City, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 A wonderful house. It was well equipped, comfy beds, great setting, quiet beach and road. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a GREAT Waldport experience!
MaryAnn P. from Hayward, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 Perfectly wonderful, a great place to rejuvenate and reconnect with your true self and your beautiful family...thank you for this heavenly place on earth:)
A guest from Salem, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 Great family vacation spot. We have two boys (4 and 2) and a dog. This place was great for them. Quiet and next to the beach. Everyone was worn out at the end of each day. The house was better than we expected. Its an older beach house, so it is a little dated and there were some spiders in the garage (boys loved them, wife didn't). Bayshore Rentals was great to work with and would reccommend them to everyone.
A guest from Beaverton, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 No complaints. Right on the beach with comfortable accommodations and a family game room. Will likely book it again.
Sheree S. from Prospect, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 I rented the sandpiper cottage for a girls weekend get away. It was perfect! The home is very comfortable and it's just the right size. There were five ladies and there was plenty of room. It would be nice to have a hot tub, but not a neccesity. I will definitely rent from Bayshore again.
Meg S. from Eagle River, Alaska recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 Just what we were hoping for, terrific beach view and access from the front door. The garage has been converted to a game room which is super for play time when we weren't at the beach. Great kitchen facilities which made eating in easy. A perfect weekend get away.
A guest from Redmond, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2013 We all enjoyed the house, very serene, loved the decor & the game room was a bonus. The view & access to the beach was great. I really liked that it is dog friendly also. Could not have wished for a better vacation.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC Thank you for your response. We hope we will see you again soon.
A guest from Eugene, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2013 This was a nice rental house. The third "bedroom" is a loft with its own bathroom so we put my mother-in- law up there. She liked it any I couldn't even hear her snoring from the main level bedroom. I thought the beds were too soft (very subjective) but no one complained and I actually slept well. The wood floors are nice and I didn't see any stains or notice any smells on the white carpet in the bedrooms. One leg of the foos ball table needs fixing. We stacked some boards up under it to make the table useable and my son loved it.Easy beach access right off the back yard, but it's pretty muddy for about 30 yards at the bottom of the stairs. Bring your mud shoes.
A guest from Salem, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2012 We picked this house because of its ocean front location and we could not have been more pleased. The purpose of our visit was to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with our aging parents. The house was very accessible for them and they were able to enjoy the up close ocean views the entire time. My wife and I stayed in the loft bedroom which was very comfortable and had its own separate full bath. The home was clean and inviting and the kitchen was well stocked (except for an electric mixer) with everything we needed in terms of dishes and cooking utensils. We had a minor issue with hooking up the DVD player and the rental office responded immediately to fix the problem. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend the home and Bayshore rentals to anyone. We've stayed at Bayshore rental properties on 2 other occasions and have been very impressed with the office staff and the great customer service they provide.
Suzanne S. from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in November, 2012 Loved it in August so came back in November. Much more comfortable for 2 or 4 people than 6. Queen in the downstairs bedroom was not very comfortable but loved the sound of pounding rain. GREAT views. Beach access fine for "normal folks" but not recommended for the infirm. Well maintained, great management. Can't say enough good things!
A guest from Springfield, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 We had a great time at Sandpiper Cottage. It rained most of the time so we had to stay indoors. It was great that there was a ping pong table. We played many rounds of ping pong. We had to go buy paddles as the paddles provided were broken. A hot tub on the covered porch would be a big improvement. Very clean and comfortable. We will be back.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC Oops, sorry about the ping pong paddles, we will definitely make sure those are in good shape next time. Sorry about the weather!
A guest from Sherwood, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2012 We needed a place at a moments notice and found the Sandpiper Cottage. It was the view and access we wanted. If we wouldn't have had 6 people it would have been a little more comfortable. The loft is cool but if you are a late sleeper the early birds wake you up, the mattress' could be replaced and the couch is very tired. I found a couple dirty towels shoved in the bathroom drawer? not sure what happened there? The lawn furniture is really dirty. The walk down to to the beach is dangerous for most people needs work. But beach access I only 4 houses down. Other than that it was a beautiful week weather wise and we enjoyed the beach.
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 My second year here. Suits our requirements perfectly. The twin mattresses are is SERIOUS need of replacement. A hot tub would be the perfect addition however I am already at my budget's max so that would no doubt rule me out for returning. I LOVE THIS HOUSE
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC We will talk to the owners about replacing the mattresses. Thanks for you review.
Robert B. from eugene, oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 this was the perfect house for a family get away: location was fabulous in a quiet neighborhood on miles of beach front. Don't know how the access to the beach will be in winter......we walked to the beach through a marsh area which was mostly dry in Sept., but still boggy
WONDERFUL house - not exactly a three bedroom though.
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 Wonderful home - much nicer than the pictures!Beautiful clean beach, hardly any people in August! The garage/ping-pong room really saved us with dogs, sandy feet and all the white carpeting. We strongly encourage the rental agency to update the description to reflect that one of the queen "bedrooms" is an open loft with open staircase. Bedrooms have four walls and a door for privacy and noise buffer. This is our fourth time using Bayshore and we will definitely be back! Overall we had a wonderful time and thank you for allowing our dogs!
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC Thanks for the helpful suggestion. We've changed the description of Sandpiper Cottage so it now states the upstairs bedroom is a loft which is open to sound from the floor below but visually one cannot see up to that bedroom.
A guest from Boise, Idaho recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2012 The view and the beach to ourself made up for the little things that needed improving (beach access, foos ball and ping pong table in garage in need of repair, white carpet with many many pet stains). The beds were super comfortable and it was a restful enjoyable week! Thank you!
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC pet stains. Some are permanent, actually. White carpet in a dog friendly house, just not a good idea. Anyway, that carpet is professionally cleaned at least 4 times a year. In the summer we have to schedule it in between guests and sometimes there just isn't time. Thanks for the heads up on the foos ball table and ping pong table, we will repair them right away. Other than those issues we are glad you had a good time and hope you will return.
MaryAnn P. from Hayward, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 Our family has been going to Sandpiper Cottage for at least 13 when we got our first little doggie. We love the location and the layout of the house. It's like our home away from home. We tried one other rental house very close to Sandpiper Cottage, and it just didn't have the same feel. Plus McKenzie, our bichon, kept going across the street waiting at the Sandpiper Cottage door for us to open it for her. We felt bad that we didn't rent it that one year, and won't do that again.Thank you for our little heaven on earth. (We already reserved for next year:)
Enjoy fun and sun in Waldport at Sandpiper Cottage
A guest from San Clemente, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 Sandpiper cottage was a great location for the coastal experience-halfway between Newport and Yachats. The the office was closeby and very congenial-little market right there. Getting to the beach was a bit of a challange at times. The sofa in the living room bottoms out-very old and soiled feeling. The linens on the master bed were old and cheap and felt nasty. Those were the only two negatives. Had a wonderful stay and would use Bayshore services again. The rest of the amenities were very comfortable.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC Sorry, we will definitely upgrade the linens and look at the beach access. It has recently been improved by the owners. Will also look at the couch situation.
A guest from Missoula, Montana recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 Staying at the Sandpiper cottage was fantastic. The house is in an excellent location for day trips up and down the coast and great crabbing locally. The views were outstanding from the large windows and the wrap around deck. I don't think we could have picked a better place to rent!I would add a screen to the downstairs bedroom and have guest put the bbq grill top indoors after use to prevent rust. Other then that the sandpiper was great. We have rented 4 home on the coast over the last 10+ years and this was by far the best!Had a great time and look foward to coming back.
Glenn A. from Medford, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2012 Let me start by saying this was the fourth time we used Bayshore Rentals to rent a vacation home. The staff is truly professional and go out of their way to be informative, helpful and make your stay enjoyable. This was our first time at Sandpiper Cottage and even though you could see that they were in the middle of making some improvements to the property, the home was neat and tidy and in a great location. The kitchen was a bit small, but was well stocked with appliances and needed items. We only used the queen bed in the loft, but the other two bedrooms were good sized and looked comfortable, too. The view of the ocean and beach from the large wrap around deck is fantastic. Access to the beach from the back yard is down a short flight of stairs, then across a bit of a swampy area that requires some balancing over a couple of well placed logs. There is another beach access about 6 houses down the road with a much smaller wet area and easier access. We were blessed with 3 beautiful, sunny days at Sandpiper Cottage, although a steady cold wind was blowing. The deck layout at the house gave us protection from the wind on the south side, so we were able to sunbathe out of the wind, it actually felt quite warm even though the temperature was in the upper 60's. We truly enjoyed our stay at Sandpiper Cottage and will likely stay there again. I think it is a good value for the money. Thanks again, Bayshore Rentals!
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2012 The location of the propery was great and the house was nice and clean. The appliances mostly the stove were not heating correctly making it very hard to bake, the kitchen knives were all dull.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC We wish we would have heard from you during your stay, although when we checked the oven after your review it seems to be working just fine. If you could elaborate further on the problem you encountered, please call us.
Danielle B. from Keizer, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2012 Thank you guys for letting us enjoy the beach, it was intended for a relaxing two days, which we felt we did. The place was cozy and we all thoroughly want to come back again in the future. Thanks!Danielle
A guest from Redmond, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2012 We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at the Sandpiper with its location right by the ocean. We loved the cozy feel of the house and the game room. ping pong and foosball were a huge hit with us all. We recommend it. The kitchen was a bit small and probably could use 2 more chairs around the dining table.
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 We were more than pleasantly surprised and pleased with the property. Views, access, comfort, amenities, three walls of windows and a 3 sided wrap-around deck to view the ocean. Location and privacy...everything to make this house the perfect place to stay. We happened to be there on two days in October with 70+ degree temps. This never happens. I plan only to rent ths house going forward.
Thomas S. from Beaverton, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2011 Had a great stay at Sandpiper cottage. We have always enjoyed staying here. The house has everthing we need. A few new updates, including the new stairs to the beach and WIFI are welcome additions.
Cathie F. from Spokane, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2011 My family (including 2 dogs) had a wonderful time staying at Sandpiper Cottage for our beach vacation. We live in Spokane,WA, so we don't get to visit the Oregon Coast very often. The house was so cute and comfortable with a great view of the ocean out of the large front windows. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We plan to visit again in the future.
Keith T. from Hillsboro, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2011 We had a wonderful long weekend, would stay there again. House had everything we needed along with a super view of the ocean
MaryAnn P. from Hayward, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in August, 2011 We've been staying at Sandpiper Cottage for over 12 years, and are always excited to live here for over a week each year. A beautiful place to reconnect with yourself and with one another. We ultimately want to retire here in Sandpiper Village:)
A guest from Bend, OR does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2011 upper shower had some issues with drain leaking into lower bathroom from upper bath shower. disposal was dead and the entre way to beach was muddy hard to access. Bayshore Rental was very helpful and took care of us. We booked another trip in a different rental later in the year. the house was dark lighting was poor. The view of the beach and the outside deck was wounderfull. the sunsets was are favorite.we caught lots of link Cod and sea bass but the crabbing was poor this month.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC We haver repaired the leak, and put in a new garbage disposal. The home has acquired new owners who are going to improve the beach access from the house and make some other necessary improvements. We apologize for your inconvenience and, hopefully, have made it up to you.
A guest from Waldport, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2011 Disappointed that the dishwasher didn't work. Otherwise everything was GREAT as usual. We love this house and have gone back to it year after year.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC The dishwasher is repaired, Please come back!!
Jeff S. from Boise, Idaho recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2011 The ocean right outside your windows, with a beautiful wrap-around deck on which to enjoy it. Easy beach access just down the road. A few small negatives: no gas grill (hard to do charcoal in the March wind), no cell phone signal, no guest info like tide tables, etc. (though we left some behind). But a beautiful house and an unbeatable view of the ocean on a great beach where we found a number of agates.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC We have added guest information to the home, thanks for the suggestion.
Glad we brought our own kitchen cookware as this house has very limited options for cooking. Missing common utensils.
Steve L. from Ukiah, California recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2010 As we found with other rentals we have stayed at in Bayshore and Yachats, seems like the BBQ's are never in working order. This one has a gas and a charcoal grill. The gas one was rusted beyond use and the charcoal grill was missing the coal grill inside. ALSO-this is a dog friendly house. We have two small dogs but there was an obvious urine odor in the house from past renters. Since it is dog friendly would be nice to have a fenced back yard for the dogs like the neighbors do.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC We apologize for lack of cooking utensils and urinje odor. Was the odor from dogs? We wil check into the items you mentioned and remedy the situation. We are sorry for any inconvenience and would have appreciated hearing about this at the time.
Judith O. from Indianapolis, IN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2010 We have stayed in this home four time and love the location. However, this year we were greeted by a horendous smell in the freezer. The living room furniture really needs to be updated/freshened up. It is also probably time for new carpeting. We were also disappointed that the steps down the hill to the beach were VERY precarious and a warning had been posted not to use. Next year we'll try a different place.
Candy M. from Harrisburg, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2010 Our time with out of state family was enhanced by this ocean view home. We would have needed to rent 2 hotel rooms and then wouldn't have been able to share as much family time together. It was fun storm watching and seeing if the birds could make it past the front windows. The ping pong table was a hit with the boys and we even had a family tournament. (Is there a way to tighten the table legs?) We did puzzles on the coffee table and watched a little football. The old only snags were when a drip fell onto the person sleeping in the downstairs queen bed and when using the upstairs bathroom, there was water on the floor, we think, was coming from the shower. Overall it was a privledge to be able to be in this home.
Pauline B. from Sherwood, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2010 There is never enough light to do the sewing and reading in the eveningI'd like to do.We would love a CD player that actually worked and a radio that worked. Direct TV is a better choice and good addition. A sleep number bed in the master bedroom would be a wonderful addition so we don't have to visit the chiropractor the day after we get back which we did today. Some of the better pans are missing and the coated frying pan is a health hazard because the coating is coming out. The plastic cork screw for wine doesn't work. Love the new stove.
Stephen B. from Edina, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2010 The location was nice, being right next to the beach, but direct beach access was more challenging than expected due to brush & drainage between the home and the beach (unlike properties further south in Bayshore). The home layout was very nice with a very large living area/great room facing the ocean. The loft was a favorite of our kids. Some of the appliances were not working (ice maker in the freezer and 2 of the DVD players), but overall we enjoyed the property and our stay very much.
Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC We apoligize for the DVD players that did not work, they have been replaced. The beach access is much better if you access it via the street side of the home.
Gina S. from Boise, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2010 Overall a great house! I was most impressed with the deck and we spent quite a bit of time out on it. The covered portion of the deck was really handy, great that you could still be outside in inclimate weather. The "path" to the beach was not what I expected, the concrete blocks were skewed and a little difficult to go up and down. There were also a few ants in the kitchen (by the sink) so some ant traps would help. The boys loved the game room and what a lifesaver that was! They also took the kites out, which is something that we hadn't done before. We saw all the sights, aquarium, Newport, sea lion caves and really had a great time. Thank you for sharing your house with us!
A guest from New Westminster, BC, Canada recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2010 We had originally reserved a different property, however because of inclemental weather conditions which affected that property, we were given this one instead. Overall, this Sandpiper cottage is very comfy and has all the amenities for an enjoyable stay. We like the fact that it had indoor activities to keep us busy when the weather was not so hospital (ping pong was available). All the appliances worked and the cottage was very clean. Beach access is available onsite, however it could be problematic for older folks or very young kids as large concrete bricks are used for a quite a steep descent/ascent and footing might be a problem. Otherwise, I would recommend this property for a romantic getaway or a family getaway (sleeps 6).
Dani C. from Eugene, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2010 Our entire family loves this little is cozy and comfortable and nicely laid out and has a spectacular view and access to the is our 2nd year there and we will be back (hopefully the owners will get the dishwasher and disposal fixed) :-)
A guest from Bend, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2010 A lovely cottage right on the beach. Very comfortable, only problem is the beach access is very overgrown and run down stairs make access tricky. Also, an overflow pipe on either side of the property makes the sand very muddy and smelly as you access the beach - but this does clear after a few feet. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
