Vacation Home Rental Description:
Older, rustic, ocean front home in south Waldport, beach access close by. This is the older, larger side of the two units and has a large, rock fireplace, three bedrooms, one with king bed, one with queen on the upper floor and on the main floor there is a bedroom with a queen bed. One full bath on upper floor, main (lower floor) has a bath with shower, small kitchen, and stack washer/dryer. Carport. Beach access less than a block walk. Can be rented by itself or with Dowd B. Wifi. Wonderful views from property and living area. 1 dog allowed.

Christmas Vacation on the Oregon Coast A guest from Rapid City, SD recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2012 My family spent 7 days at the Dowd House over Christmas and enjoyed it thoroughly. We bought a tiny artificial tree, decorated it with lights and strung lights over the mantle. The home has great personality. I would suggest some weather stripping on the back door for winter weather, it lets in quite a draft. We loved the view and saw a lot of fishing boat lights at night. We would definitely rent the property again. |

Futon not very comfortable, a not very expensive fix. Overall, we were happy and had a wonderful stay. Great location, Beautiful beach, house was wonderfully decorated and has lots of character. Some things that might be nice to do: It looked like the gutters and yard need a little cleaning. Glass fireplace doors seemed in need of replacement or removal.Kitchen stove was a little testy. Toss all the non-stick cookware and provide more cast iron or cheap SS ones instead. Non-stick is not so healthy and gets easily scraped which leads to ingestion of the material. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2011 We really enjoyed our stay, great views of beach, very easy access to great walking beach, located just a few feet from the driveway. Loved all the old woodwork and in this folksy rental. A little chilly at times, but the fireplace was great. Overall, very charming, rental company very responsive to any concerns & we had a great time! Lovely view of the surf from the master bedroom & living room. |

Stayed for 4 days in June, 2011 Condition of property has a rustic charm but could use upgrading the kitchen appliances and utinsils. Towels were at a premimum and could use more. Photo towards beach leads one to believe you just take a few steps and you are on beach when infact house is on a high cliff above. Did not like the hike down to the beach. With all said we would still come again but would rent both unit A & B together. Great House A guest from Bend, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2010 I feel the check out time should be adjusted. This was a home not a hotel so I feel that the check out time of 11am is ridiculous especially if there is no one coming in the night of your departure. Your company should offer a later check out as an option when booking and there should not be an additional fee for that especially if no one has booked the house Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC We really do try to be accommodating but that is a big house to clean. Since our cleaners are independent house cleaners they have other homes to clean, not just Dowd A. We have to be consistent in our check out times since someone could easily walk in or book on line and we would need to have it clean prior to their arrival. Sorry if you were inconvenienced but there are too many variables to adjust the time of check out. |
