Great price -- Great Location
Tayler D. from Parker, Pennsylvania (PA) recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in September, 2016 This studio apt was just what my husband and I needed for our two week honeymoon -- One row back from the beach, it was centrally located from the airport & big beaches. About a mile away from most of the restaurants and shops, it was within walking distance but just far enough away for peace. Would deff recommend!
A guest from Largs Bay, SA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2016 This was an excellent studio apartment. Very spacious and comfortable. Good cooking facilities. However, the balcony open/windows opened on to the main road and we were not used to that much noise at night.
ryan c. from Torrance, California (CA) recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2014 First of all let me tell you my experience with kihie bay surf #253: it was very nice, right next to the beach everything you need from the kitchen was there from rice cooker, to coffee maker, toaster I mean you can even make tamales here if you want too, that how well loaded this condo is. To beach chair and etc!! Now the bed was just fine the there is only one problem the couch, I would never ever sit there again in my life!!! I got rashes on my body from sitting there to watch tv. Every time I would try to lay or sit on the couch my skin would itch so bad that I had to shower many time throughout the day, not to mention my wife, she had bumps all over her back from just sitting there for a momment.if there are couch bugs here I would highly recommend to throw it away or fumigated against bed bugs ASAP. Overall the place was pretty nice and the price too except the couch!!!!!!!
A guest from Calgary, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2014 Overall this place is awesome given its reasonable price point. Being located at Kihei, which brought easy access to major points of Maui (Lahaina, Wailea, Road to Hana, Crater, etc). The place is clean which is our number #1 need. They got enough cookware for us to cook breakfast and snacks. We spent most of our time outside so personally my wife and I got what we needed. The only thing that may concerns some people is the unit locates right next to the main road (south kihei road) which could be noisy at the evenings until 10pm. I'm a deep sleeper so that didn't bother me. Not sure Free WIFI has become a standard to most people, but having it available definitely helped us to plan our day to day activities much easier.
Betsy S. from Hoquiam, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2014 We rented a studio apartment in Kihei for four days. It was across the street from the ocean access and only a mile from the shopping district. It was clean and had WiFi and a swimming pool/hot tub access. The folks at Rentals Maui were helpful and patient. I'd recommend Rentals Maui to anyone who wanted to save money on accommodations and have a stress-free vacation.
Laura Z. from Ismaning, Ismaning recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2013 This apartement was just perfect! It was clean, everything you needed was there and it was very pretty and in a good condition. We enjoyed our one week stay there very much, and would always stay there again when going back to Maui!
A guest from Vancouver, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2013 After an unexpected 14 hr layover,we arrived in Maui at 9:AM. The property management company was delightful to work with. We got into our room within minutes. The studio was very pleasant and met all our needs. We'll visit the Kihei Bay Surf again next year! Thanks for everything. J and K from Vancouver WA.
Pat H. from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2012 Kihei Bay Surf is a wonderful place to stay and I (we) definitely will be back again. Location was perfect - with good parking. There were 11 of us and it was the perfect place - especially the pool and grill area since we had a 5 and 3 year old. I do have a few "maintenance" suggestions for #253. 1) The garbage disposal did not work - so the sink backed up; 2) Light bulbs were out; 3) The double bed was a bit small for two 70+ year old widowed women - so we decided one of us would sleep on the couch. When we took off the cushions to pull out the hide-a-bed - it was "filthy" so we took turns sleeping on top of the couch. 5) Instructions for the TV and DVD player would be helpful - couldn't figure out how to get the DVD to play for the kids. If these few items are taken care of I could give it 5 Stars.
Reservation process was unprofessional; Actual condo was great.
A guest from Oak Lawn, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2012 The reservation process turned out to be more of a bait n switch tactic for us. When I inquired about this particular condo they told me that I would be paying $69.00 per night, sounded great so I told them to book it. The booking staff sent me a reservation confirmation email in which they added large fees and it actually made our stay $103.00 per night. At this point I looked around at other condos and it turned out that it was comparable to similar places so I stuck with this place. If the staff would have been upfront at the beginning I would have been fine paying the higher amount, I didn?t like feeling tricked!!!! Upon arrival the condo was great, it was exactly how they advertised it to be. I just wish the booking staff would not have tried to use underhanded tactics to get us to stay there, it is a great place and they don?t need to play those games.
A guest from Floyds Knobs, IN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in January, 2012 I was so disappointed with the Kihei Bay Surf #253 for its location on a busy/noisey street, the visible roach traps, ants all over the kitchen, under-sink mold/mildew, smelly pillows, old bedding and sagging mattress. I would question whether this property should even be offered for rental.
Tabitha L. from Woodlands, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2011 It worked for what it was. I was shocked by all of the visible roach traps in the condo! Please have a professional to rid the facility of roaches! Gross! Thank you for the stay. I would only refer to a friend if the improvements are made ;)The maintenance of the property was perfect thanks to Mark :) i loved the view to the ocean and sunset.
Tammy S. from Kenai, AK does not recommend this property. Stayed for 11 days in June, 2011 We were looking for an inexpensive room. This was a great price for the location. The size of the room was fine for us. Really we didn't plan on hanging out in our room. Just sleeping at night and getting ready in the mornings. This condo faces S. Kihei rd so had a lot of road noise. Something we got used to pretty quick. The condo is a bit run down but we didn't expect high end for the price we were paying. Our only problem (and it was a major problem for us!) was the cockroaches! If we saw 1 or 2 during our stay we would have been ok. For the record I have stayed in Kihei numerous times in the past 10 years at different properties and I have never seen a cockroach in our condo/room ever. I also lived on Maui for 5 years and we never had a cockroach problem. We killed (litterally) 100 cockroaches the first 3 days we were there. The lady who cleaned the condo brought us some cockroach motels and when we went to put them out dead dried out cockroaches poured out of them! I think they were stored somewhere and attracted cockroaches. So we went to the store and bought our own. We put a whole package out and every few days replaced them with new ones. We still killed between 10 and 15 a day. Half were babies so those are a little easier to kill. We were told by the rental agent that cockroaches are a price to pay in paradise. We figured we paid for the room already and doubted anything could be done about the problem while we were there and dealt with it. Because of the cockroaches we were afraid to use the stove/oven and any/all of the dishes/cups/silverware. The whole point of getting a condo was so you can cook your own food. We bought paper plates and plastic silverware and kept everything in the refridgerator including unopened bags of chips and our ziploc baggies. We didn't want the cockroaches touching anything! My sister even found one in her suitcase so we were freaked out we were going to bring them home with us! So no I would not reccommend this condo unless
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui This complex is sprayed quarterly by a certified pest company. Occasionally if there is an outbreak we call the pest company over immediately. This unit has been completely ridden of any pests.
A guest from Logansport, IN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2011 This place sucked! The pictures were of property across the street. This place was across the street from the water and was kind of a location due to the high amounts of people around and the beach wasn't very nice. I'd suggest staying east or west of this place... The pullout couch was broke, no wifi, cockroaches, and unless you like sleeping on questionable bedding you might want to pack your own sheets and covers. I hated this place! Spend a little extra money and go somewhere else and have a much much better time!!!
