Russ and Becky at Palms of Wailea
Russ / Becky B. from Saint Paul, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 17 days in March, 2016 We enjoyed our stay this year even though we had to move to a second unit during March. As in the past, Rental Maui staff were great.
A guest from Issaquah, WA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 9 days in March, 2016 First, the property does not sleep 6. One king bed which desperately needs replacing and a very old pull out couch in the living room makes an uncomfortable 4 people at best. Unit and contents appear to be original from the early 1980's. Not only dated but dirty. Kitchen amenities were a hodgepodge of mismatched items. Spacious patio with newer grill were the highlights but the outdoor furniture and cushions were also in need of replacement. Only one pool for this large property so very crowded at times. Would stay at the property again for the location but not this unit.
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui, Inc. A new King bed was purchased in June 2016. Also new living room furniture has been ordered, along with new carpeting.
A guest from Lone Tree, Colorado does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in September, 2015 This condo has a great view but is in need of a re-model. It needs newPans as the Teflon is scraped off. Furniture need replaced & the tube tvShould be replaced with a larger flat screen. The unit could also get New towels.
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui, Inc. Thank you for your feed back. We have since replaced the pans, bath towels and beach towels. Mahalo!
Peter D. from Bonbeach, Victoria does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in September, 2015 Nice layout bet some updating represent value. New TVs,wireless Internet ...not cable, new towels, matched crockery instead of oddments, set of wine glasses . The decor is functional but dated ..... Very much seventies. The view is nice but you look over another unit to the ocean. Lanai is large and great. Resort has a great pool but is a little remote.....you need transport.
Darlene L. from Coquitlam, British Columbia recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2015 Overall was very happy. Maui and location of condo is fantastic. Our unit was a little older and the only complaint would be the beds and no A/C in living room. We had family in other units and one had a/c in whole condo and their beds were new. Didn't ruin our experience although I don't think I could have handled two weeks sleeping on them. Minor details for the owner to consider. Rentals Maui were fantastic and any time we called they were there to accommodate. Will be back for sure.
Erica W. from Coquitlam, British Columbia does not recommend this property. Stayed for 10 days in March, 2015 Our experience was okay overall. I've had better for the same value on the island. The complex was nice. Our friends had a way better unit than unit 1005 for the same price. We got a Dud! This unit is older, dated and needs a fair bit of attention to fix and update to make it worth the rental price. I did express only a few concerns to the rental company and they responded quickly to fix the patio sliding screen, one (1) set of new linens was dropped off, they replaced the broken beach chair and provided a new hair dryer. The portable beach coolers available for use had dirt and mold in them therefor we could not use them. Overall, I would suggest that this unit needs a fair bit of work including, new mattresses in bedroom and pull out (our backs were sore every morning) and throw out all the old bed linens and get new.
A guest from West Vancouver, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in March, 2015 Overall pleased with the Unit. Somewhat dated. No flat screen TV's which is a concern for Netflix, etc. Internet was patchy and required more than one call to the cable company which was not helpful.
A guest from Mankato, MN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in September, 2013 Expected more from Wailea. The condo needed some repairs and updating. Felt we could have gotten something equal to this condo or nicer for the same amount of money in a more convenient location. The complex over all (pool & grounds) was very nice.
Gary B. from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2013 This property is located in the upscale Wailea area and within close driving distance to a variety of beaches, Kihei, and Wailea. The property itself was spacious and the Lanai was fantastic; large, well furnished, with a nice view of the water. The interior however was in need of some care. Kitchen cupboards were dated and mis-aligned, window blinds were dated and in need of repair (the kitchen blinds came down on my wife), sliding window doors and screens were difficult to open/close - in fact the screen came off it's tracks. Also carpet in a warm area like Hawaii is sub-optimal - at least for us. That said, the condo was well stocked with kitchen and beach supplies, was spacious, and well priced. One note on the booking I'd like to make. Read your contract closely! The contract states deposit with payment in full due within 30 days. It's up to you to remember to send in your check. So long as you do that you're good. Don't expect an email or any contact from the agent. I fortunately checked with the agent a couple weeks before arriving to assure my visit would go smoothly and she at that time reminded me of the contract (which I mistakenly had not read completely). I travel at least 6-8 times a year and have never seen a contract like this and furthermore, have never had a situation where the booking company didn't get in touch with me for a payment due. Had I not checked in I'm guessing I wouldn't have had a place to stay. I was a bit shocked by the lack of attention paid by the agency. But, as I said, in their defense, the contract was clear. Just be sure to follow the rules!
A guest from La Quinta, Calif recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2012 Nice Unit in Palms at wailea...Layout made unit seem bigger than normal....Great views from lanal across garden, trees, and out to water...Great unit for extended stays....well eqipped with lots of extras (boogie boards,et al.)....Would highly recommend and would use again if available.....
Jonathan S. from Sherwood Park, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in May, 2012 We absolutely loved staying here! What a pleasure to open the curtains every morning to that stupendous, panoramic view of the ocean and palm trees from the spacious lanai. It was an extremely quiet, restful place to vacation. The only sounds were from the birds and the sprinklers. It was very well equipped -- everything from beach umbrellas and chairs, to boogie boards and coolers. The kitchen was modern and contained everything we needed. I loved having the water/ice dispenser on the frig. Some of the decor is a bit dated but that didn't bother us in the least. The condo was so spacious and comfortable for the 2 of us. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. We had 2 requests of the management company and they were attended to within the day.
A guest from Kapolei, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2012 The unit had everything you would need to make your stay comfortable. There were chairs, umbrellas, towels, body boards, coolers to use for the beach. The view from the lanai was amazing. We would definitely rent this unit again on our next stay in Wailea.
Don P. from Calgary, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in April, 2012 Our family (son & d-i-l) and daughter, grandaughter & s-i-l) stayed in 1101 and 1005. had a great time and the property was terrific. A couple of minor maintenance issues were handles quickly and effetively. We would recommend the property to anyone else and would gladly go back again ourselves.
A guest from Bellevue, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2012 Spacious condo, well stocked kitchen, lots of beach equipment, easy walk to snorkeling and swimming beach, convenient to Wailea and Kihei, quiet, quiet, quiet!
A guest from Calgary, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in February, 2012 We stayed in this unit for 8 days in February. We would rent it again. Minor complaints such as burned out light bulbs but nothing major. It's probably time to paint and get new sheets. Particularly enjoyed the view from the lanai and living room. The very large L-shaped lanai had a beautiful panoramic view. A major asset to this unit is having your own private propane BBQ on the lanai. It was great to have access to beach equipment and coolers.
A guest from Redmond, WA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 Palms #1005 is a nice condo with a good layout and a great lanai with an ocean view. Overall, the unit is decently furnished and it was clean when we arrived. However, it could use a little attention and updating. A new bed would be at the top of my list of suggestions. Wireless internet would be nice. We like the location of The Palms very much - at the north end of Wailea with easy access to Wailea and Makena as well as Kihei. The unit's location in the complex was good for us (despite the little bit of walk and stairs from the parking space), in a quiet section relatively far from the main entrance and pool. In summary, this unit is a decent value, but I would not call it "luxurious". If there was some improvement/updating in the furnishings and appliances, this unit would be high on my list when returning to Maui.
A guest from Lakewood, Colorado recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2011 This unit was very nice. I would suggest getting rid of the carpet and put tile in. The wall decorations are a bit dated. The patio and views were very nice! Bed very comfortable!
Mark S. from Boulder Creek, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in April, 2011 We had a wonderful time at this condo in Wailea. The property manager was very organized and provided instructions and assistance via email and in writing at the condo location. The condo itself was pleasant, the lanai was fantastic with a good view, an excellent grill. It made for one of the most relaxing vacations we've had in years. I highly recommend it.
Advertised that there was internet, which I specified was very important, and there was not. I had to come up with a laternativ
A guest from West Vancouver,, British Colombia recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in December, 2010 week, which I could not afford with my business.Property managers were great, they dealt with a few broken items immediately. The suite does need a few upgrades, not in bad shape, just wear and tear. The view from this suite a great, and the wrap round deck , all on one floor was nice.We would stay there again.
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui Jan.2011 installed wired internet, new garbage disposal and a new dishwasher.
Amy C. from Bainbridge Island, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2010 This is a beautiful condo, well equipped and lovely. The lanai has a gorgeous territorial and distant ocean view. It is in a quiet and peaceful location within the Palms complex....a very classy development. In every way, this rental provides an excellent value for a memorable vacation experience.
They really need a new mattress for the bed. They also need to replace pan's. The teflon is peeling.
A guest from Centennial, CO does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in June, 2010 We love the view from the patio. We have stayed there 4 or 5 times. We would come back if they got a new bed.
Patricia B. from Aptos, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in April, 2010 As I wrote on the comment card left for us in the condo, we really enjoyed our stay at the Palms in Maui. We thought the condo needed a little updating but it had a great location, view and a wonderful lani.
Rodney R. from Centralia, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2010 Excellent Location and views! Apartment needs some minor maintenance. One of the screen doors will not stay on the rails. Overall a good experience. Property Managers are GREAT to work with and helped us get in quickly and extend our stay. We've dealt with them in the past and they have always been friendly and professional. It's hard not to enjoy your stay on Maui!
Henry B. from Edmonton, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 23 days in February, 2009 This is a choice location with an astounding view. Deck furnature was ample as were inside furnature and appliances. The king-size bed was the best we have had in any hotel. When the bedroom TV had no sound we were given a new one-great service. The place could use some minor maintenace: had to clean and fix barbeque and some lights are either burnt out or not working, and one or two stove elements aren't working. If we come to Maui next winter we would like to book the same condo again.
Bob N. from Boston, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2009 Condo needing multiple repairs: Several lightbulbs out, grill all rusted out and dangerous to use, door handle to lanai broken, coffee pot missing parts, shower heads were so clogged that almost no water got through. Screen door falling off tracks needing adjustments
