Traci W. from Calgary, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in April, 2016 I really enjoyed this rental unit. Even though it doesn't have air conditioning the trade winds that blow through, along with the fans made it very cool so air conditioning is not needed. The grounds keeping was immaculate! This is a very well cared for complex and we felt safe and secure at all times. Two very minor things were 1. the bed and sofa bed needed foam toppers (we purchased at Walmart) and 2. there were no hand towels or face cloths (we also purchased at Walmart). I highly recommend this unit and definitely recommend this complex. We will be back next year for sure!!!
A guest from Richmond, B.C. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 11 days in January, 2016 the bed & hide a bed need upgrading, the TV needs to be replaced & there is no oven. Also the pots & pans need upgrading.Location is great but I would not recommend it until they do some work on it.
Dennis E. from Tenino, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in January, 2016 Loved the location and the overall grounds and complex. The unit was comfortable for 2 people but is still in need of some updating. Old relic of a T.V. and the bed could use a foam topper. The furniture was uncomfortable, but clean. Overall the unit was in good clean condition and would be "perfect" with some minor upgrades.
A guest from Calhan, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in September, 2015 The location of this rental was outstanding. You couldn't ask for a closer to the beach place to stay. Very clean and nice, basic rental. The beach here is very private and with the best view around. The only downside was the lack of air conditioning; in the afternoon, the place gets pretty heated. Otherwise, perfect amenities and condition.
Chris E. from Calgary, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in March, 2015 Overall, I had an enjoyable and relaxing vacation. I have stayed at WBH several times and really like the location and amenities. I was a little disappointed with the unit D-127 - from the tired and worn carpet, to the screen on the side window that wasn't the right size or fit, to the worn facecloth that had holes in it - it seemed like the place had been somewhat "let go". Because of the unit's location, there was often quite a bit of noise from foot traffic and the property next door. Also, on my last day, there was a large cockroach in the kitchen (which I managed to kill), the first I have ever seen in my stays at WBH. I would definitely return to WBH, but not to unit D-127 unless it gets some upgrades.
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui, Inc. Good News. This unit has under gone some recent upgrades and looks so much better. Location and appearance are now more equal.
Kathy H. from Calgart, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in March, 2015 Perfect location.... on the ocean. Nice view. Nice pool and barbeques. Quiet at night. Grocery store a block away. The condo was well equiped for cooking. Very enjoyable accomodation.
Reviewed by: Helen M. recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in March, 2015 being on the water was amazing and being able to sit on the outside deck for meals even when the weather was not perfect as usual for Hawaii was appreciated
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui, Inc. Thank you for your review of Waiohuli Beach Hale #127. We are so glad you enjoyed the panoramic ocean view from this property and hope to see you again.
Theresa D. from Anchorage, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2015 The view and outdoor access is fantastic. The beach is steps away. Not really a swim beach but it is perfect for walking and wading. Nice pool and grilling area. The pool is not especially kid friendly, does not allow any type of pool toys or snorkel gear. With that said it is still nice to have a pool! Easy walking to grocery store and other amenities. As others have noted it is a little outdated and no dishwasher. I would stay here again with no hesitation.
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui, Inc. Thank you for your review of Waiohuli Beach 127. We are glad you had such a great stay.
A guest from Yuba City, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 13 days in September, 2014 The exterior of this property is very well kept, pool is nice, ground are very peaceful and quiet. The beach is beautiful and swimmable, there are some gorgeous trees surrounding the property. The beach is actually a very long strand with beautiful sunsets. Also this unit #119 is very private and the closest to the beach, also the outdoor shower was awesome. However the unit itself is extremely outdated, everything about it from the lamps to the fixtures. Nothing has been upgraded or changed, it's circa 1960 and it shows. Also NO A/C, it was 90 degrees our entire two week stay, with humidity and it was hot all day and night in the unit. The unit needs upgrades and very inexpensive changes that would make a world of a difference. Also the bathroom and especially the shower were not clean. The kitchen stove top was dusty. This property is nice and peaceful but I would not stay in this unit again. Unless they put in an a/c and updated fixtures, appliances and stop using sheets that are paper thin from being washed a gazillion times.
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui, Inc. This property was updated in April of 2015. It was completely tiled, painted, and the bathroom was completely remodeled.
Brent S. from Wilsonville, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2014 Great location in central Kihei. This unit is ground floor beach front and probably 75 yards to the beach. I like hearing surf from the condo! We like staying here and renting a jeep to explore the island... Don't forget to visit the Aloha Plate for good locals food and $3.50 Mai Tais on HR!! Then MonkeyPOD restaurant for best beer and food happy hour. great time.No questions!!! Just do this!! Then the "Trilogy" to Lani for "snuba" and whales. Again NO QUESTIONS!!! DO THIS!! And, if you follow this plan and have no fun, take up knitting!!!
A guest from Anchorage, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in January, 2014 My wife and 3 year old daughter stayed at this condo in late January, visiting from Anchorage, AK. Overall we thought the place was great for the price. We really liked how quite the property was, how close the lania was from the beach. There were two things that would probably make us consider a different location next time though: 1. The carpet in the living room/hallway has got to go. Considering the humidity and proximity to a sandy beach, after a few day the carpet seemed unhygienic. Vacuuming the carpet filled the condo with stale, moldy smelling air that was produced by the vacuum. 2. It seemed like every afternoon, there would be a group of 2-3 homeless individuals who liked to relax on a grassy, shaded area just before the beach on the adjacent property. The condo is located next to a church that provides food to the homeless. The people seemed nice enough, but something we will consider the next time we visit.
A guest from Sechelt, BC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in January, 2014 Fabulous location, great complex but this unit needs some care to be put in.The rug was very dirty Kathy at Maui rentals was great and had it cleaned the next day. One of the kitchen cupboard doors was off with a note saying it would be fixed (wasn't) Kitchen lighting very poor. No dishwasher or oven. Popcorn ceilings need to be cleaned and painted, deadbolt lock should be installed. May seem like small things but when compared to some of the other units it adds up as they are mostly the same price. Would stay at this complex again but not this unit.
A guest from Madera, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2013 We had a wonderful stay at this property. The location was great, quiet, close to beach and with friendly neighbors. My wife didn't want to stay at a huge resort, so this was perfect. Close to markets, reastaurants, town. MauiRentals was very accommodating and easy to get a hold of. The only complaint, is the carpet needed shampooing from last guest. Called RentalsMaui. They had it cleaned, but not shampooed. Other than that, everything was great. We are thinking about staying there again next year.
Corey L. from Tacoma, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2013 My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in the unit. Everything seemed to be a little outdated (amenities, furnishings, and so on) but that really didn't matter, I feel I got a heck of a deal either way! My wife and I will return to this property, may try out a different room next time, but we liked everything about this place!!
Lynn E. from CALGARY, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in April, 2013 I HAVE BEEN BACK THREE YEARS AND LOVE IT HERE. THE CONDO COULD USE SOME UPGRADES BUT OVERALL ITS GREAT. LOOK FORWARD TO COMING BACK NEXT YEAR
Buz O. from Lake Oswego, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in March, 2013 The privacy of the lanai and the oceanfront location of 127 made up for the vintage condition of the condo. This is the only unit I want to rent for my visits in the future.
Mark J. from Anchorage, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in March, 2013 Ther was no oven or dishwasher. The lanai was excellent. The location was perfect.that made the kitchen insignificant. The bed (made into a king) was comfortable.
Shastine B. from Vancouver, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in February, 2013 The unit was a little dated but having the unit on the main level facing the ocean made it well worth it.I enjoyed many mornings sitting on my patio looking at the ocean.
A guest from Gilroy, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2013 The condo was very clean but a bit shabby--for the price and location, it isstill a great deal. Could be a bit noisy--we were in a ground floor unit. It was nice to be able to book the reservation online instead of having to call or email a message and wait for a reply. The wireless internet access was not good so we had to either sit by the pool or out on the lawn in front of the pool. It was certainly nice to be able to watch for whales just sitting on the lanai!
Garfield G. from Calgary, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in January, 2013 The property location on the beach is fantastic. Supplies were great and appreciated. It was a little dated and is going through some upgrades. We did love the place and hope to return.
Carol M. from Corvallis, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in December, 2012 A perfect location for anyone wanting to relax and enjoy the beauty of Maui. Loved the clean, blue tiled pool. Great to be so close to the stores. Friendly atmosphere, quiet and lovely. Bar B Qs could use some upgrading. Good laundry facility.
Lovely location and could be a great place but needs updating
Leroy / Bev M. from Keremeos, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 30 days in November, 2012 We were very impressed with the location, view and ocean access. The pool was great too. The condo was clean but very dated and really needed painting, upgrades and repairs. We travelled with a large group and our condo was the most expensive and the only one that hadn't been updated. We would recommend it though as just before we left, the lanai furniture was replaced with really nice stuff. The day we vacated a new cook top, screen door and lanai carpet were being installed. They also painted the lanai tables.
Barbara K. from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2012 Our unit #127 had dirty carpet, no AC, crumbling bath cabinets, but lovely view and location satisfactory. The unit needed a lot of help.
Kenzie M. from Eureka, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 22 days in March, 2012 This is a wonderful place to stay. It's almost heaven...watching the ocean, swimming in the great pool, really nice other tenants and great location.
A guest from Douglas, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 28 days in November, 2011 The location is good because it's oceanfront, but the neighborhood has many homeless people, because the church next door feeds them. The area is also prone to theft and break-in. This is a ground floor unit, so don't leave anything unattended, and always lock the lanai door. The unit itself is dated and drab, and the cleaning service only does a superficial job.
Fred M. from Coquitlam, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 16 days in October, 2011 no stove oven area rug is trip hazaed [curled edges],carpets were dirty, one plastic glass for pool areaneed large glass set & wine glasses
A guest from Dawson Creek, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in March, 2011 My family has been coming to the complex for years - I loved the location of the unit right on the beach, however the condition of the unit is a little rough. Needs some upgrading and cleaning - especially walls and bathroom. I absolutely loved my stay here and will return again to Waiohuli Beach Hale.
Nice location and complex but condo itself in need of updating.
A guest from Quesnel, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in February, 2011 The location of this property is amazing, ground floor on the beach. The unit itself is outdated and has no dishwasher, oven or air conditioning. At first we were surprised but honestly missed none of the above. We didn't even notice there was no oven until part way through the stay. The stove top though needs some repair as none of the elements sat level. The kitchen had adequate supplies but the knives were dull to the point of being useless and the utensils were in a state of disrepair. The dresser drawers in the bedroom also need repairing as they didn't slide well and one had to be jimmied shut in order to open the second. Internet was spotty and even carrying the laptop to the recommended centers it cut in and mostly out until the end of our stay when many guests had checked out - then we could even get it in our suite. The complex itself had a nice pool and great BBQ's. The other guests were great and we even got invited to a 65th wedding anniversary.
