High in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northeast Georgia, secluded on a mountain top, overlooking the little village of Clayton, is peace, quiet and tranquility... waiting patiently for you to arrive... Spring, Fall, Summer and Winter- A Place For All Seasons. A single, rustic but strikingly original cabin with unique design and flare stands alone below a 75-foot granite cliff, at the foot of which ripples a small spring-fed pond, sheltered in a stand of native mountain laurel, its summery spray creating afternoon rainbows and reflections. Nestled among massive boulders, surrounded by fallen stone from bygone centuries, and 100 ft tall poplars and hickory trees, the Cliffside Cabin awaits you. Step from the cabin deck directly onto slabs of ancient stone, or wander among the boulders strewn below, where wild turkeys still roam, to sit at a circle of log benches, hand hewn from a 217-year-old hickory, around an old-fashioned granite fire-pit and charcoal BBQ grill. Privacy and solitude among such natural splendor, combined with the comfort and amenities of a fireplace, gas heat, and all the modern conveniences of the cabin, make this an experience almost extinct except to the elite - not a development, not a cluster of roadside rentals, not a commercial business, but a one-of-a-kind, truly unique and residential hideaway. Our private guest house. Stay where so many friends, from movie artists to comics and fashion illustrators, have called home away from home - The Cliffside Cabin on Screamer Mountain. Find out firsthand why these mountains have been featured in films from "The Last of the Mohicans" to "Long Riders," from "Deliverance" to "Four Seasons" and many more, all of which celebrate the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A private road, dead-ending at the cabin, acres of untouched natural forest, and total privacy ensure you will have that vacation in the mountains you have always dreamed of, but could never quite find, until now... Our personal and very private guest house, yours for a weekend, a week - or more. Once you discover this well-kept secret, you'll want to come back again and again. The water at the cabin, from natural mountain springs, is excellent grade A drinking mineral water. We also supply fuel for the gas heating and all utilities. The cabin has a wrap-around deck, ceiling fans, stereo/radio, many books/games, and will sleep up to five people. Cliffside Cabin has a full kitchen and dining area, supplied with cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, paper towel, garbage bags, coffee machine/filters, fridge/freezer, stove/oven and microwave. Just bring your food. The bathroom has a toilet and shower; again bathmats, hand towels, soap and toilet tissue and so forth are provided. Please bring your own personal towels. There is no telephone, however mobile phones will work from the cabin because of the altitude. Fishing and hunting licenses are available in season, and trout, bass, deer, raccoon, possum, bear and turkey are some of the wildlife to be found here. However, Cliffside Cabin and its immediate surrounding area is a wildlife sanctuary; therefore hunting in its vicinity, or the removal of trees or plants, is prohibited. Many breeds of bird, some rare, come here to nest, and we actively encourage this.
