Elisabeth C. from Vancouver, British Columbia recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2015 My best friend and I rented condo #206 in this building for a week vacation and it was perfect! The two queen sized beds made deciding on rooms easy, the furnishings were modern, simple and the condo was clean and in excellent repair. The vacation rental company was great to deal with, they had everything sent to us via email, and were quick to respond to emails. Everything we needed was provided for us, including beach blankets, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, sun screen, bug spray and even a cupboard full of books, which was great since we both forgot to bring reading material. The location of this condo was amazing. We spent every afternoon on the beach across the street, it was an easy 5 minute walk. The location was also perfect for sight seeing and using our rental car to get around the island. Every evening we watched the sun set from the patio. Just lovely! The only draw back of staying in this unit was the lack of air conditioning. For me this was perfect, we kept the fans going and windows open and were able to keep the apartment very cool, but I could see how this would be a problem for people who are sensitive to heat.
A guest from New York, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2015 The Keawakapu apartments are conveniently located on S. Kehei road near the park, across the street from the ocean and close to many of the resorts and restaurants we wanted to check out. The apartment is spacious, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, has an open floor-plan with living room, eating area and kitchen. The kitchen has most necessities to cooking a meal including pots, pans, utensils and general cooking supplies. The outdoor deck has two lounge chairs with a nice table and a gorgeous 2nd story view of the sunset every evening. There are no AC units and the fans aren't too useful, but fortunately March isn't hot or too humid. Checking in and out was super convenient and having out own parking spot made things easy. We will definitely be back for another stay!!! Nearby places we enjoyed: Maui taco shop, Ululani's shaved ice, the park, the Marriot for exploring, Ahihi bay for snorkeling, Mile post 14 toward Lahaina for a nice beach with more snorkeling
A guest from Soldotna, Alaska recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in February, 2015 Property is located in an awesome place for the Keawakpu beach. We walked to this beach most days with 2 small children. The Kam beaches and restaurants are a little farther away for small children so we drove to those. The unit itself is a little dated. The cabinets and fridge have some mileage. The flooring could use some TLC also, but I wouldn't consider any of this a deal breaker. There was a lot of extra decorative items in the unit which was a little difficult with kids (ages 5 and 2) but this wasn't a deal breaker. There was no air conditioning which was the only real negative to the unit. It made for some hot humid nights. Over all the unit was clean enough, it was in a good location for beaches, and the price was reasonable. We wouldn't hesitate to rent this unit again. If you compare it price wise to what is around it, the money saved was worth it.
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui, Inc. So glad you had such a nice time on Maui and that you would stay here again. Hope to see you in the future.
A guest from Vernon, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in January, 2015 The condo was very clean and homey. The only completes we might have would be there is no fan in the bathroom and there is no air-conditioning. There are fans in the bedrooms and in the living room so if you leave the window and patio door open the breeze blows through and it is comfortable. There are little floor fans provided also, so we put one at the door to the bathroom and that worked too. The condo is not luxury but comphy it is in a great location close to the beaches and town. The city bus runs right on the South Kihei Rd so if you don't have a car you can still get around. We had a great time in Kihei and would recommend this condo.
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui, Inc. Thank you for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay.
Allie D. from Phoenix, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2015 We just loved our stay at the Keawakapu condo. It was really nicely decorated and we had absolutely everything we needed in the well supplied kitchen. We also loved that there were several beaches to choose from close by from Kihei to Wailea. We'll definitely stay at this cute condo again! :)
Property Manager Response: Response from Rentals Maui, Inc. Thank you for staying with us. We'll be here for your next visit.
Michelle B. from Ottawa, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2014 Great unit, nicely decorated with local cultural items, nicely situated, off the main strip of south kihei drive, which is what we wanted. It comes with many ammenities which were very nice to have: dishwasher, large fridge with ice maker, coffee maker, blender, basic kitchen utensils, sharp knives. Great unit all and all, my only thoughts were that the unit sleeps four but there was only beach gear for two (two towels, but three chairs, pool noodles) it was nice to have those things however so no complaints
A guest from San Lorenzo, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2014 Nice, quiet except for the traffic on the patio side, front bedroom and the generator noise by the back bedroom, roaches in the kitchen and broken screen door. Also needed a no stick frying pan
Andrea E. from Richmond, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2013 Everything was fantastic the suite was extemely well appointed. The only draw back was no pool/hottub and access to the beach was farther than we anticipated. This property is not on the beach!!
Johan H. from Evergreen, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in December, 2012 Everything was excellent. Great location across the street to an excellent beach for swimming, walking, diving, snorkling, SUPing...etc. Having a hotel bar/restaurant on the beach was also nice in case you wanted to go out. 1 mile from downtown Kihei and restaurants, although the better restaurants were a bit further. It wold be nice to have a fan/vent in the bathroom, but that was the only gripe.
Sophie C. from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2012 We enjoyed our week long stay. My favorite spot is the balcony where you can observe the sunrise/sunset, the feral cats, and the wild rooster. The location's close to beaches, restaurants, supermarkets and far away from major tourist traps. A concern is the tiny bugs/ants in the kitchen/living room; a good extermination may alleviate the problem. Also, expect to wake up early as the birds start singing before 6AM.
A guest from Vancouver, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2012 The condo was perfect for a party of 4. Relaxing, clean, and so convenient. Laundry was also easily accessible (just remember to get coins). The location is very close to local restaurants and beaches.
A guest from Edmonton, Alberta does not recommend this property. Stayed for 16 days in February, 2012 The unit itself was very nice. However, the complex DIDN?T have a gas BBQ, no smoking allowed, no pool, no tennis courts, etc so the $$ was high for what you got. It was remotely located from shopping, restaurants, etc. There is 1 beach a short distance down the road. It was less noisy regarding road noise but there are currently resident dogs that do bark.
A guest from Grande Prairie, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 24 days in December, 2011 This condo is beautifully furnished and is just across from the Keawakapu beach and the 4 Palms restaurant where you can enjoy sunsets that are amazing. Great Value.
A guest from Innisfail, AB does not recommend this property. Stayed for 21 days in January, 2011 It is always wonderful to visit Maui. We were disappointed with this property. The ocean view and sunset view can only be described as "peekaboo" views. The add stated that this unit is an easy 5 minute walk to the beach, this is an understatement; 15 would be more accurate. There are many residents in the building, this changes the dynamics. We were awake before 7:30 every morning due to crying children. There were a few dogs in residence, barking and looking into our front door at times (without their owners). It would probably be a good idea to let people know in advance that there are unleashed dogs in residence. The general condition of the unit was good. Not very clean though. We needed to wash down the kitchen cupboards, they were quite sticky. There was no fan in the bathroom, this should be standard. The grounds were kept very nice. Perhaps this would be an ideal location for people with young children and those with dogs. This was not a good value for the cost.
A guest from Edmonton, AB does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2009 The location of the property was disappointing - it was very close to South Kihei Road and very noisy. Our main dissatisfaction though was with the unacceptable number of samll ants. They were a constant presence in the kitchen even if no food was left out. They were also in the bathroom. We noticed that there was a notice indicating that the entire building was going to be fumigated on Jan.28., perhaps it will be better after that.
