Great location - too much light and not enough air upstairs
Jana R. from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2014 Pros:We appreciated the extra towels and umbrella for the beach as well as the off-street parking. The kitchen was great for simple meal prep and socializing. The unit is certainly adequate for 4-6 people. Lots of privacy with three bathrooms. The downstairs bedrooms were quiet, cool, dark and great for sleeping. Cons:We couldn't sleep upstairs. There are no curtains and no AC meaning you will wake up at dawn and there is no where to rest after that except the kitchen/dining room. The dryer is breaking. There was dog hair on the couch and lots of carpet in the unit so anyone with allergies should take notice.
maggie f. from Indian Wells, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 Very nice house and lots of rooms. There are no AC in the house that make the best room with west face glass very hot. There are construction near a block make lots of loud noise. There are also no enough bedding for the sleeping sofa. Some floor mat in the bathroom still wet. Otherwise this is very good place to stay and the manager are very nice and easy to hold with. Walking distance to the beach.
Heidi B. from Bloomfield Township, Michigan recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 Our family of four had a really great week just a block or so from the ocean. We walked to town and enjoyed watching surfers and sunsets. Management was very responsive when we we missed a couple things. Nice to have parking spot(s) too!
A guest from Shibuya-ku, Tokyo recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 This condo was the epitome of beach living! This home was in pristine condition and the views throughout the home were breath taking. The beach decor was perfect and really added to the experience. It was modern and contemporary and we really felt as if we were living in luxury during our vacation. All of the different levels in the home provided multiple areas to relax and spread out. One feature that was essentially was being within walking distance to the beach?and this home provided that. We were just a few minutes away from walking down to Windansea, which is beautiful I might add! La Jolla Village had great restaurant options and cute coffee shops for breakfast and coffee. Being able to cook our own meals was nice and it made us realize how great it was to be staying in a vacation rental as opposed to a hotel. We were definitely satisfied with our stay and cannot wait to come back.
A guest from Mexico City, Mexico City does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 We had a quite good experience with the house but also a quite big surprise as we found out that it had no air conditioning. Because of that I would not recommend the property
Property Manager Response: Response from Seabreeze Vacation Rentals, LLC This summer has been unseasonably warm and the temperatures we have been experiencing are not normal. This house is very close to the ocean and as a result, air conditioning is not normally needed. We are sorry this guest was uncomfortable and also urge our guests to look at the amenities each property offers and make a decision based on what is important to them.
Howard V. from Orefield, PA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 Our week at Unit 357 has pros and cons:Pros: Nice sized unit accommodated our family well. Unit was generally clean and close to the beach, downtown La Jolla and the Cove. Enjoyed the location very much.Cons: Unit did not have A/C. The very large windows heat up the upper BR every day to an uncomfortable level. On first day, kitchen sink leaked and refrigerator did not work properly. It is fixed in less than a day. Sleeping was a bit difficult without A/C but there was some moderate breeze from the ocean. Less used areas of the house were quite dirty which was a surprise because the house was otherwise pretty clean.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 This was such a unique home! The 5 levels really gave a cool look to the home and allowed for so much space. The beach decor with old longboards on the wall put us in the beach vacation mood. This home looked newly updated and everything was in top condition. The views from the huge windows were breathtaking. This location doesn't get much better?we were only 1 block from the beach! We enjoyed every minute of our stay here and would do it again in a heart beat.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2014 I rented this property out for my spring break. It was a perfect location right next to wind and sea which is a beautiful beach! The property itself was beautiful I loved the windows that created such openness and allowed us to view the sunset and sunrise. Having 8 people in this place was a blast but the neighbors thought we were too loud when we were playing the guitar one night which was kind of a bummer. Would recommend though!
Property Manager Response: Response from Seabreeze Vacation Rentals, LLC We appreciate this guests feedback and always love to hear when our guests enjoy their vacation. However, we also have a commitment to our neighbors and must strictly enforce our good neighbor policy. We hope that our guests appreciate and understand our position.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2014 We liked this rental a lot. The location is great, we loved Windansea beach and the neighborhood in general. Lots of good spots to walk to for coffee, lunch, dinner, a 's great. The home is nicely decorated and feels like Southern California. It's very spacious and slept us all comfortably. The views from the living room and loft are amazing. Definitely recommend it!
A guest from Las Vegas, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2013 Our stay couldn't have been any better. I only wish I could have stayed for an entire week. This place was great: clean, located by the beach, great view of the ocean, etc.. I would definitely bring my family back.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 We absolutely LOVED staying at this property. What more could we want? This home is breathtaking and super unique. The architecture and decor are really exciting. Having 5 different levels keeps the vacation interesting and gave us so many different places to explore and spend our time. Having the ocean views from the huge unique windows was priceless. We caught ourselves sitting in the living room just staring out of the windows for hours. The beach decor with surfboards on the walls and cool colors added to the beach vibe. It was fun to feel like we were really living like the locals in this home. I am overall very pleased with the professionalism and quick action from the property management and the house was spotless on our arrival. It was hard to pull us away but we cannot wait to come back.
Reviewed by: Tracey O. recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2013 Very nice rental, decorated nicely and in great location. Thought photo misleading, as expected house to be overlooking the water! The view was from quite a distance, but only a 5 minute walk to lovely beach. The kids had a wonderful time walking to beach and into town. The Promiscuous Fork a real find, fantastic food and a 5 min walk away. Quiet and safe area. Would thoroughly recommend.
Maruschka V. from Pittsburgh, PA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2012 A very cozy, homey place. Enough space for a family of 4. It can use a very thorough cleaning though which should be very doable for a $200.00 cleaning fee! The kitchen is very basic equipped, the dishwasher, which we needed to clean out upon arrival!, is in a bad state! The coffee machine was very dirty. The inside of the all cabinets could use a good clean as well! The shower in the loft bathroom is mediocre to say the least and almost impossible to adjust to a pleasant temperature (it's either too cold or too hot). The pictures do the house justice except they give the impression that there is a little balcony with seating and ocean view, we couldn't find it! Check-in was pretty convenient with the code except there was no mentioning of the apartment number so we had to guess! Also there is no light by the front door so typing in the code in the dark is a bit of a challenge. Parking is also a challenge, since it is a very small and busy street. The walk to the beach is very easy and we really liked the surrounding neighborhood, great little restaurants and stores, very close to La Jolla center. Wonderful Farmers market on Sunday!I loved the book, what a great read!!! Thanks for making it available
Dawn P. from Powell, Ohio does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 our rental was not very clean; we had dirty sheets in one room and trash was found behind the furniture and beds. large cobwebs were in the rafters and high windows and the windows were very dirty with bird poop. the kitchen cabinets were dirty and needed a scrub down. there was an overall odor to the condo that was not great. since we spent most of our time on the beach or sight seeing, we were able to make do. However, for the price we paid for one week i would expect a cleaner unit. I would recommend the owners take out the carpeting and provide air fresheners in the rooms or some other form of ventilation. also since this is a middle unit there is nowhere to sit outside; that was a disadvantage. finally there needs to be a place to rinse off outside when returning from the beach; alot of sand gets tracked in.
A guest from Fort Worth, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2012 The location was incredible, very close to the beach and near family (we were in town for a wedding). The home is decorated nicely and was very clean. We would make a few suggestions - the home could use extra towels and extra blankets. In addition, for people with short stays, it would have been nice to have provided some trash bags and some dish soap or dishwasher detergent rather than the renters having to purchase those sort of things that cannot travel home and don't get used up quickly.
A guest from Massapequa, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2012 Satisfied our needs...less than 5 minute walk to the scenic beach. Great location..a bit crowded with parked cars. Love the area. The rental is a middle unit townhouse...very open. Master bedroom is a loft that has a view of the ocean with a lot of sunshine shining through the windows. The price was a bit high for off-season(February) but we were satisfied.
William B. from Wallingford, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2012 We enjoyed our winter getaway week in Windows on Windandsea. Nice location and near beach and short drive to La Jolla center. All amenities were clean and neat. Getting in and out of rear parking was "interesting", but it was free and available. Street parking is not usually available. It was quiet and convenient and worth the reasonable price when compared to some places that were more expensive and not as nice. Three flat screen TVs and Wifi are a good addition. More room than we needed, but worked out well. Would recommend for two couples or families or a week away from cold in winter or heat in summer. Owners left good information and seemed to genuinely care about guests. Near great surfing area if one is som inclined. We are a little past surfing age. Did the USS Midway & Balboa Park museums in SD and went up the coast to Torrey Pines GC and La Costa and also visited the Mission San Luis Del Rey. All convenient. A relaxing, enjoyable and informative week.
A guest from Reston, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2011 We stayed at Windows to Windansea for a family birthday celebration in October of 2011. The property lavishly housed five adults and made for a perfect site for a dinner party for seven, although eight would have fit comfortably. With four women in our group, we appreciated the three full bathrooms, one adjacent to each of the three bedrooms. The towels were luxurious and the bed linens were soft and inviting. The two private parking spaces in the back of the building saved us from what would have been very tight street parking in front. Overall, we enjoyed the property and would recommend it to others.
Kimberly N. from Thousand Oaks, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2011 I suggest that you emphasize that there are 5 flights of stairs, 1 to get in and 4 inside. Could be a problem for some. But the place is fantastic!! SHort walk to a great beach!
Denise L. from Santa Rosa, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2011 The condo while in a great location has some issues. 1) no air conditioning which made the bedroom upstairs hot 2) the 2 bedrooms downstairs smelled and had little ventilation.
Property Manager Response: Response from Seabreeze Vacation Rentals, LLC Upon receiving this review, we immediately inspected the two downstairs bedrooms and quickly addressed the issue these guests brough to our attention. Since addressing this issue, there have been no further complaints from any guests who have stayed here.
