20% Off Dec Dates - Ocean view penthouse suite in the heart of the Village
Cue the music "California Dreaming". Turn it up a bit so that you can hear it over the roar of the waves just past the tidepools directly in front of you. Stretch back in a comfy lounge chair from the vantage point of your balcony perched fifty feet above the Pacific Ocean, with the beverage of your choice, watching the pelicans sailing by, the surfers, swimmers, and beachcombers at play.
Welcome to the penthouse suite of 457 Coast Blvd. The trifold doors are pushed back and the panorama of the La Jolla coastline flows in, transforming as it goes. The silvery oak floors morph into driftwood, the sea-blue granite countertops become the waves rolling in. Over the bar floats a school of jelly fish, unaware of their function as a source of light. Walls are covered in sea grass or mirror to reflect more ocean views. Should you fall asleep in the living room, in front of the warm glow of the faux fireplace, be assured the sofa bed is extremely comfortable. In the master bedroom a king bed awaits with adjoining spa inspired bathroom with aqua glass walls and a shower of green Esmeralda granite. The guest room sleeps two, in the twin bed / chair version of the living room sofa, also very comfortable. The bath, accessed across the hall through double pocket mirrored doors is a virtual seashell grotto, complete with all the conveniences and a tub enclosed shower.
The gourmet kitchen is a natural for preparing locally caught lobster, halibut, or yellowfin tuna while never taking your eyes off that gorgeous view, where you'll see the fishing boats that are reeling them in. You'll also see grey whales in season, pods of dolphin, harbor seals and sea lions, along with formations of pelicans, which who knows why, just have to be counted.
As for matters practical - there's a spot for one car in the underground garage, a large washer/dryer in the garage and a small one for dainties in our 1000 square foot condo. When the sun sets there's cable TV and wireless internet to entertain you. The perfect picnic spot sits right out front on our "little green lawn", where you can stretch out on the grass, glass of wine and camera in hand to catch the elusive green flash at sunset. And take note - the sunset lasts even longer from the height of the 5th floor balcony. It's all about the view!!
Out the front door the Coastwalk beckons, but you won't want to leave this beautiful spot. Right around the corner, the Village, Scripp's Park, and the seals at the Children's Pool beckon, as well as George's Restaurant, Warwick's Bookstore and gelato. Still, you will not want to leave, but, rest assured, the anticipation and pleasure of seeing it all over again, make up for any absence. The song says it all - California Dreamin' - but when you wake up, it hasn't gone away - because it's real.

A guest from Zapopan, Zapopan recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 We loved this condo! It was absolutely perfect for us and the location was to die for. We had ocean views from almost every room in the home and the beach decor really put us in the beach vacation mood. The condo was in tip top shape and all of the furnishings were really comfortable. Our favorite aspect of the home was the outdoor balcony overlooking the beach. We couldn't ask for a more perfect view. We took advantage of this outdoor balcony and loved having our morning coffee while watching the waves. We were literally steps away from the water and were really close to town. There are great restaurants and shops just a few minutes away. La Jolla is such a beautiful town and we had a blast. We appreciated the easy process we had booking this rental and will definitely be back!
Richard P. from Campbell, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in June, 2014 Everything was better than the description and pictures. The management were all very responsive to any requests. We booked our next years two week stay before we left. You will not be disappointed.
Beach Lover's Retreat - If You Don't Like Having Day Guests
Reviewed by: John R. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2014 Overall I had a very good vacation because I love the beach. The only drawback and reason for pause for returning is the very restrictive day guest policy. Five star resorts have a maximum day guest policy that is usually stated at 2 to 3 times the number the condo sleeps. And this is for the entire stay and does not require a written permission for each visit, which in my case was limited to one.
Property Manager Response: Response from Seabreeze Vacation Rentals, LLC To our future guests - please note that this guest wanted to have a party at this property, which we do not allow. We do not have a day visitor restriction as mentioned in this review and our guests are more than welcome to invite friends and family over to enjoy the properties they rent from us. We are committed to insuring our guests enjoyment of the properties they rent from us, however, we also have a commitment to our neighbors and community. As a result, parties, functions, and corporate events are not permitted without written permission. We hope that future guests reading this review will understand our position.
Reviewed by: Gerald H. recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in March, 2014 Right on the shore. Unimpeded view of the fabulous sunsets. Walking distance to great restaurants, galleries, and shops. We absolutely loved the location. The unit itself was very comfortable and well equipped. We just wish it had a dining table rather than a bar.Perfect for a couple or small family. Not so good for two couples.
Mary Ellen W. from New Orleans, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2014 we spent 7 days in the most beautiful setting anyone could possibly imagine. There were gorgeous views from EVERY window, north, south and west!
A guest from Durango, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in November, 2013 Well stocked condo, very clean, would definitely recommend it for future rentals. A suggestion for the owners would be to go ahead and buy a real king sized mattress for the master bedroom, then use those two twin beds that were joined together as a "mock king" to replace the pull out chair/twin beds in the second bedroom.
A guest from Lafayette, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 We have stayed at beachfront condos almost every summer since 1972 and this is the best property we've stayed in. We will rent it again if at all possible.
Reviewed by: Hugo J. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 The views here really are majestic. The condo opens up to the Pacific and it's so nice to hear and see the ocean all hours of the day. The layout of the condo and the size were perfect for our family. We walked to everything even though we had the convenience of garaged parking. We would definitely rent this condo or others in the building again! Thank you Sea Breeze.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 We love this condo! It's beautiful on the inside, very spacious and open. It has the most beautiful ocean views and the bed was extremely comfortable. We hated to go.
Reviewed by: Hugo J. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 I can't say it enough, this is by far the best ocean front condo we have ever stayed in. The views are magnificent any time of the day. This is the way all penthouse condos should be, million dollar views, new and updated appliances and furnishings, garage parking, and prime location to the beach and La Jolla Village. We loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to return to soak in more of the ocean views and cool breezes!
A guest from Taos, NM recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2013 This is our second stay at this property and we anticipate coming back again and again. The location is the best. The property has a lovely decor - beachy and pretty. The views are exquisite from almost every room. Windows in almost every room that open and let the ocean breeze intoxicate you. Well supplied kitchen for cooking, however you are in walking distance to the best La Jolla has to offer. We enjoyed our stay immensely!
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2013 This is the best vacation rental we've ever stayed in! It's a dream penthouse with amazing sunset and ocean views. The condo is so nice and clean, and it's quiet. You can't hear anything except the sound of the Pacific. The kitchen is beautiful and a dream to cook in. Thank you for letting us share your wonderful home!
A guest from Pasadena, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 The property location was nice and close to many restaurants, shops, etc. Comments from other guests is that the rental price was too high for a condo and was equivalent to renting an actual beach home.
Alex T. from Cambrige, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012 The location was stunning. Smack dab in the middle of a Marine Reserve. Amazing quantity of sea life! The condo decor and kitchen was top notch; kudo's to the decorator. This would have been our all time dream vacation if there was a table for our family to dine on, play cards, board games, etc...
Dirk M. from Paducah, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2012 We loved your condo - #501 - California Dreaming. The view was incredible! The condo was very clean and everything was in excellent condition. Our family was very comfortable there. We hated to leave! The condo is in walking distance to dining and shopping in La Jolla Village. The parking space in the garage was very nice as parking on the street is limited. The few times we did need our vehicle it was nice to be able to park in the garage and take a few steps to the elevator and go up to the condo. Since we have family in the San Diego area, we definitely plan to stay in #501 again!!
A guest from Surprise, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2012 This is a very nice place. All was perfect except for a few very minor conditions. The second bedroom has pull out single beds, and 2 actual twin beds would be more comfortable. Also, the balcony has only one chair. Other than that, just a perfect place to relax. Some reviews complained about having only one key, but we had 2 which was great. We will return!
A guest from Mundelein, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in March, 2012 We loved e convenience of the property location but we also loved how well appointed is unit was. Everything we needed was there and easy to use. It made our stay stress free and completely relaxing.
A guest from Taos, NM recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2012 We enjoyed our rental - Beautiful location. The towels were lovely, but smelled mild dewed and we had to rewash them. Washing the towels is a chore. One is asked to go to the lower garage and use the washer/dryer there. Also, not enough closet space. The master bedroom closet is locked and the 2nd very small bedroom has a very small space, due to it also being a linen closet. Views are spectacular.
Leslie M. from West Vancouver, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2011 ...in every way. We were as happy being at 'home' as sightseeing. We would return in a heartbeat. One quibble: An extra building key would be helpful.
