Calling all Patrick's Point enthusiasts! This adorable private A-Frame cabin is nestled in the trees located on several acres just 1/2 miles south of Patrick's Point State Park! Find agates, hike to Wedding Rock, or enjoy the ocean view from the deck.
On the main floor the Master bedroom includes a Queen size bed and bathroom. Also on the main floor of the cabin we have a fully equipped kitchen (no dishwasher), laundry facilities, living-room with wood burning stove (wood provided) and a DVD/VCR.Upstairs includes one bedroom with Three Twin Beds (third bed is a "trundle") and a half bath, making this cabin comfortable and cozy to sleep up to 5 guests!The wood deck overlooking the large backyard and ocean view has a BBQ (propane provided) for your cooking pleasure. No need to go anywhere, you can have a private picnic in the backyard! If you're looking for a cozy cabin in the woods with an ocean view, this is the place!This cabin comes with a complimentary bottle of wine!Pet Friendly: Fee $35 Extensive yard overlooking the ocean for pets and a BBQ pit to sit around and enjoy the sunsetsOut of respect ands kindness to the neighbors, we are unable to allow large gatherings at any of our homes. We spent nine days on our honeymoon in this cozy cabin. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect! I mean if you like beautiful sunsets over the Pacific Ocean, gorgeous weather, cute animals, peace and quite, seculded, but close to amenities, and so on! =) We were and are so blessed to see and be apart of such an amazing creation! The redwood forests, the beaches, the light house, and resteraunts are just a few of the fun and exciting things to do here. We had a wonderful time and pray that we are able to do it again! Absolute Paradise On The Ocean With Sealions And Redwoods Steve P. from Encinitas, CA recommends this property. This special place near all the Redwood Forests, on the ocean, and so quiet except for the wonderful sound of the sealions cannot be topped by any resort or location. It's simply Paradise. |

Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013 Location was good with a nice clifftop view, albeit close to woodcutting and a mean dog at the neighboring roadside inn. Property was overall in good condition... Driveway entrance and drive around home is in need of gravel or roadbase, presently requiring use of 4WD to keep from tearing up the wet mud. Landscaping was nice and woodsy, but in need of some basic work (weeding blackberry vines overtaking otherwise beautiful azaleas, removing tree branches, fencing off rear yard from the rough impromptu public access down the cliffside). The east-facing front door needs an exterior mat and/or boot brush to keep from tracking in wet debris and mud, while abundant banana slug scat needed to be hosed off the exterior walls and door. The rental was generally in good condition inside, only needing some bathroom upgrades (new vanity and painting of filled holes left by towel rack replacements). All in all, a convenient and homey place to stay from which to visit the redwoods and Trinidad. |

One chair inparticular was broken and couln't use to enjoy the wonderful view. The lock box for the keys was difficult to open and even jammed when we attempted to lock the keys upon our departure. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2012 the cabin and location were awesome. however, the cleanliness of the cabin was very poor. i dropped some food in the kitchen and went to clean in up and there was all kinda nasty grime on the floor. which was interesting when there all kind of notes around the house about guests doing there part to clean up. first it needs to be clean when we get there. the cabinets where the plates, etc, were in had dirt in them. i re-washed everything before we used it. the fridge though was spotless. the bathroom needs re-done and smells like sewer at times. quality of furniture and appliances was very low - much from the 80 -90s, and this was not even good quality 80-90s.the cabin and area were gorgeous. i was disappointed in bringing my friend there though, due to care of the cabin. i wouldn't re-rent.. i'd try somewhere else. Ketchup under plates, water in bowls, forks used in drawer and much more!!!We started our stay with cleaning one drawer, one cupboard and only this stuff we want to use 2x.!House, rooms, bathrooms, and all other were absolutely clean and we felt very comfortable.Please watch out if your guests left house included clean kitchenware!!!We did and we are sure the following guests are only shocked because of not cleaned other kitchenware we didn't cleant. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 We enjoyed a lovely two night stay in this property which ticked all the boxes for an English family of five looking for a "cabin in the woods" experience. I loved having the sea at the bottom of th garden (although I didn't see it properly until the morning of the last day when the mist finally cleared!). Trinidad is a great little town, and we enjoyed exploring tidepools at Patricks Point as well. The only downside was a very faint smell of dog in the main bedroom. I know dog lovers must be grateful to find someone to take their pets, but it can be offputting for others. It didn't spoil the stay though. Thank you! A group of seals was staying on the beach near the A-Frame while we were staying here, and it was a delight to hear them barking throughout the day. It was clean, efficient, had an awesome view and our little dog thought she was in heaven! We took several day trips and it was great to be able to just let her run after being cooped up in the car all day. The only problem we had was that the heat didn't work. Luckily there was a wood stove with plenty of wood so we were able to keep the chill knocked off, but at times it was inconvenient to have to do that. You might want to make sure that this has been fixed before renting this property if you don't want to deal with that. Other than the heat, we were very satisfied and would recommend it! Slug excrement pretty much all over back of house at entrance 2. deck furniture molded plastic we really could not use it 3. under kitchen sink is moldy and needs to be thoroughly treated 4. bathroom shower curtain liner was slimy and moldy.......i treated the curtain myself because simply did not want to shower with that at my feet 5.spare lightbulbs would be helpful as two bulbs were out on arrival 6. Security: husband thinks deadboldt at back door can be easily accessed by just breaking a window pane allowing entry. The front security light was burned out. 7. General: The entrance to Driftwood Lane is framed by a very unacceptable property that gives all the wrong immediate impressions, makes you wonder what you are headed for if you have not been here before..... 8. considerable cobwebs, clumps of dust (large) at top of A frame at front of house (so easy to remove but not done) POSITIVES: I WOULD DEFINTELY GO BACK AND STAY HERE, EVEN THOUGH.... THIS IS AN UNQUESTIONABLY BEAUTIFUL PLACE THAT DESERVES TO BE BETTER MAINTAINED. THE PROPERTY IS GOURGEOUS. WHEN THE FOG LIFTED AND THE SUN CAME OUT WE COULD SEE, AS WELL AS HEAR, THE SEALS?,SEA LIONS?..THEY WERE SUCH A DELIGHT! THE TRINIDAD AREA/PEOPLE ARE VERY WELCOMING! WONDERFUL ACCESS TO MANY TYPES OF POSSIBLE RECREATION. AS I SAID I WOULD GO BACK IN A HEARTBEAT!!!!! MY HUSBAND AND I WERE ON THIS TRIP TOGETHER MOST OF THE NEGATIVES ARE HIS THOUGHTS BUT TRUTHFUL IN DOING THE REVIEW IT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE PROPERTY TO BE HONEST AND FACTUAL. PERSONALLY I WAS VERY COMFORTABLE HERE, ENJOYED THE WONDERFUL AIR, MOISTURE, SLEPT GREAT, FOUND THE KITCHEN EASY TO USE (IMPORTANT TO THE COOK). no customer service Gabor N. from San Diego, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2011 very poor treatment from the management: Trinidad Retreats. No customer service is an understatement. I would not recommend the place unless it was managed by a different company. For my $1700 that I paid for a week, I was not treated professionally at all. When I asked to use a different payment than I ghave for the deposit, they charged my credit card and said they would refund my first $1500. Nothing happened for 8 days, as I waited and inquired patiently, I was told to wait and that it was refunded on day 1 and it must be my bank's fault. They even accused me that I was trying to scam them and it was just a plot, I must be having my money. I finally started to track it down, spent 3 days calling them, their payment processing agency and my bank, for no result: it turned out the payment processing never wired the money, they just sat on it then they said it was a software error. To add insult to injury, I was offered a gift certificate which I never received. The rental process of the vacation was truly a disappointment. It's sad that such a beautiful place is represented so poorly by a company you have to go through for the vacation rental and feel like you are scumbag dishing out $1700 for a week. I thought for this kind of money they would treat you at least as properly as a Day's Inn. the house has no wi-fi and a tiny television set. phone reception is poor in the are too. Otherwise the house and the location are both fabulous, we enjoyed it very much. |

Stayed for 2 days in June, 2011 My husband and I have stayed here before and especially appreciate the dog friendly home and yard. The views are exquisite and the ambiance is serene. The home is comfy and well equiped. I marked 4 for cleanliness only due to having to wash dishes before use due to prior visitors use and no dishwasher to help them. This vacation home is well situated and close to excellent restaurants, beaches, and Patrick's Point. We will be returning. It was a well-maintained and feels like home the minute you step foot on the property! There is lush landscape that has a very maintained yet rustic feel to it. The view from the deck and really, any view from the backyard is breathtaking since the ocean views occupy the horizon. We had a small BBQ with family & the kids enjoyed the backyard the most! The wood stove in the living area was a welcomed amenity, it gets chilly once the sun sets. The home was well stocked and we really enjoyed reading the guest book of past vacationers and their similar experiences of the sea lions, rabbits, and ocean views. It was a delightful and peaceful stay! |

Stayed for 3 days in April, 2011 We recently did a family girls trip and rented this house. The house was small but very clean and cute inside. We loved the stay there. The view of the ocean from the house was great. The view from the edge of the back yard was even better. From there we were able to see the waves crashing and seals sun bathing on the rocks below. We enjoyed our stay at this house very much and would love to come back for another girls trip. |
