Another Fabulous Stay
Reviewed by: Karin H. recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in November, 2016 We have always enjoyed our stays at D302. Much of our time is spent relaxing on the large lani. The pool and beach are a short stroll away. TV watchers will appreciate the new flat screen and new lazy boy recliner. We are looking forward to another stay here next year.
Reviewed by: Jean / Susan D. recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2016 This is the second year that we have rented this unit. Views, peaceful, clean, and beautiful property. The snorkeling, beaches, sunsets, and natural beauty. You can either barbecue on the property or eat close by at many restaurants. Thank you!
Linda D. from Menlo Park,, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2016 We had perfect 6 nights in D302. The unit is furnished lovely and was clean with breathtaking view of the ocean and the ponds.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in December, 2015 We love the Mauna Lani Terraces and This unit was no exception All furnishing including lanai were in good shape and comfortable. Carpet was somewhat worn or dirty. Kitchen well equipped though slightly disorganized The only thing we wished for wee a few folding beach chairs to take to other beaches outside of the Mauna Lani. We would rent this unit again - absolutely !
Reviewed by: Jan M. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2015 Overall a good experience. Great location, building and unit. However we had breakdowns around the following: toilet would not flush due to chain being broken. blender broken (was replaced that day by management), no ipod/iphone connection to stereo, auxillary speakers (outdated) connected to TV not working, uncomfortable living room furniture, lint lefgt in clothes dryer. Could use cleaning of carpet or new carpet. Please be advised that any conversations held on the lanai are heard by the full time residents below.
Reviewed by: Jennifer O. recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in November, 2014 The property location is fantastic. I would hope that the furniture would be upgraded. The headboard in the master bedroom was broken and would bang against the mirror with the slightest of movement. The refrigerator was filled with old condiments that were leaking - I had to clean the refrigerator and throw out these items. Other than the items discussed above we found the condo to be in the perfect location for our needs.
Reviewed by: Greg F. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2014 This was an elegant 2-bedroom condo that was comfortable yet beautiful. The spacious vacation villa was located a short distance from Kiluaea Kona and the "Saddle Highway" that runs between the two dominant volcanos on the island. It was the perfect vacation condo on this unique island. We will return!

Reviewed by: Nick V. recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in July, 2014 This is the first year we decided to stay in a condo at the Mauna Lani. We have always stayed in the hotel. This was a great experience for us and we would definitely do it again.
Reviewed by: Craig F. recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in June, 2014 This is the third time we've stayed at this property, and, as usual, it did not disappoint. The location is superb - very close to various beaches, quiet, peaceful, and also close to shops, groceries, etc. Sitting on the lanai each morning is a great way to start the day. Also, KCP, Marissa and Alesia made the process very easy. You can't go wrong with the Terraces and this property.
Reviewed by: Phil C. recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in April, 2014 Excellent location and views. Easy walking distance to the hotel and Beach Club. Nice layout of the condominium and well stocked dishes, etc. Overall reasonable value for the money. Only negative comments are (1) the air conditioning does not cool very well if that is an issue for a renter. Wish the management company had turned it on before we arrived the first night since we did not get there until after 9:00 pm which is typical for most flights into Kona from the mainland and (2) the refrigerator should have been cleaned out by the management company - lots of very old jams, mayo, etc that made the refrigerator look very bad in visual appeal as nobody paying these prices wants to use other folks old food).
Reviewed by: Terry C. recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in April, 2014 All in all the stay was great. The unit was soo comfortable and well furnished w/ nice appointments. Beach towels to pots and pans...we wanted for nothing (besides a clean condo our first night!!!). We'd stay here again but would explore a 2bdrm unit a little closer to the beach. On check-in we found our unit had been abandoned in mid-cleaning. Buckets, brooms, towels, sheets were all left where they'd been dropped. Master bed unmade, guest bed not stripped, no towels in bathrooms (all in a pile on a chair). Dishwasher full, leftovers still in fridge...etc. The cleaning person works at a nearby restaurant, she was planning on finishing-up after her shift since she wasn't told someone was checking-in. The cleaning person called us the next day, apologized profusely and stopped by that day to give us fruit and avocados from her garden. Kohala offered to give us a free day of maid-service but that didn't make any sense since we didn't have or need service during our stay and we never heard from Kohala again.

Reviewed by: Karin H. recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in November, 2013 This was our second stay at D302 within a year. We love this condo. The views are amazing. Once again we spent much of our time on the large lanai. Although somewhat dated, the condo is well maintained and quality is evident throughout. We are hoping to return for another stay in a few months.
Reviewed by: Kathy F. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2013 This was a great condo with a gorgeous sunset view. Perfect location to walk to the beach club, the hotel for breakfast and dinner and a great beach there as well. We would definitely stay there again!
A guest from Mill Creek, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in February, 2013 We recently returned home from 10 days at Mauna Lani Terrace D302. The location of the property is fabulous....close to the hotel, beaches, restaurants, and shopping. The view from the unit is second to none. Although the unit was generally very clean, it needs some updating and minor repairs. We would definitely go back to this unit and use the same management company in the future.
Reviewed by: Karin H. recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2013 This top floor condo must have the best view of the entire complex. We spent five nights and didn't want to leave. Much of our time was spent on the large lanai where we had daily visits from a red cardinal. Yes, some may say this condo is dated but we loved the beautiful Hawaiian decor and weren't there to watch TV. The photos for this condo are great but it's even better in person. We hope to stay here again next year.
Reviewed by: Daryl J. recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in November, 2012 We've had the good fortune to visit the islands nearly three dozen times since the late '70's. We've stayed at luxury resorts and rented free standing homes and of course, numerous condos. From past visits we have learned there is a tendency of management companies to over promise and under deliver. Not so this time. Our experience with Marisa of Kohala Coast Properties was the best ever. She promptly responded to our needs and delivered a truly first class experience. The property condition and location were excellent and matched what the advertising promoted. We'll be back next year!

Jack hammering started Friday and continued on Monday and Tuesday, starting at 8 am and ending at 4 pm. It drove us away from apartment and made stay very uncomfortable. Nothing you can do but just bad timing for us. Master bed had plastic under sheets which was not selcome and barbeque area was too far away in our opinion.End

Reviewed by: Jaquelyn G. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2012 We love the Mauna Lani Terrace property and the location. My husband and I have stayed on this property every year for more than ten years. This was our first time renting from Kohala Coast Properties. We chose D302 because of the price and won't do that again. We felt that the carpet was extremely dirty, the cupboards and what was in them was also very dirty, electronics and the interiors are dated. It wasn't up to the standards that we have grown to expect from the Mauna Lani.
Reviewed by: Andrew B. recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2012 D302 is a large unit with two bedrooms on opposite sides of the lay out (nice privacy) and two and a half baths. It was very comfortable for our family of four and much better than sharing a hotel room with the kids for a week. We appreciated being able to cook at home most nights since food in the area is expensive and not always great. Comfortable beds, lots of sheets and towels, large fairly well equipped kitchen and a nice outside grilling area that can be reserved. Great view of the ocean from the big lanai (we spent a lot of time eating, drinking and reading on the lanai.) There's a bit of a walk to the ocean or pool because the unit is in the middle of a "C" shape of other apartments -- not a problem unless walking is a health issue. My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is that the there are a lot of rules at the pool regarding noise, toys, food, etc. --not 100% kid friendly, but we worked around it. Beach club beach is amazing for snorkeling. Chaise lounges seem to be first come first served but we didn't have problems during President's week. Not far from the airport and a short drive from the shops at Waikoloa Beach and Wiakola Village (which has the best grocery store in my opinion). All in all a good choice for our Hawaii vacation.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2011 The carpet was dirty, seemed uncleaned. 2 0f 3 toilets failed due to mechanical problems (chain broke), even after one was fixed. Also, had wi-fi problems. management company was reasonably responsive.

Craig F. from Tucson, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in June, 2011 The Terraces were a fantastic location for our family vacation to the Big Island. Spectacular views, relaxing and convenient. It was truly a home away from home, but in Paradise! KCP did a great job - Mahalo to Marisa and Alesia. You guys are terrific! The best endorsement we can say is, "we're coming back!"
