Perfect for large groups or several families vacationing together, Kokomo Key is brand new and beautifully furnished with 2 master suites, a summer kitchen and big patio area around the pool, state-of-the-art electronics, and a magnificent 2nd-storey patio that opens up into the living room, blurring the distinction between indoors and outdoors! A gorgeous European-style house painted in soft pastels and tastefully decorated, Kokomo Key will win your heart and let your whole group enjoy the beach in utter luxury!
Of course, it may be hard to get everyone into the house, once they see the patio and pool area. Surrounded by a sturdy fence and lush tropical landscaping, this brick courtyard is the perfect place any time of day or night! (Sauna had been lukewarm but got much hotter after mentioning it to pool man.) Second-floor lanai off living & dining areas overlooking lake & golf course was a wonderful spot for morning coffee. Gated entry guards were very friendly & helpful & lent to a feeling of security. We enjoyed cooking in the well-furnished kitchen. Inviting guests 4 dinner made it feel just like home. Bathrooms included walk-in showers that made it easy 4 grandparents. Highly recommend as a truly enjoyable vacation experience where collapsing with the whole family to watch a movie at the end of the day was just as enjoyable & memorable as being at the beach or searching for the Fountain of Youth! Stayed for 7 days in March, 2013 Beautiful gated community, home was very nice and clean..... except for the pool....we arrived on a Saturday very late. When we woke up sunday morning we noticed the pool was very dirty. Later that morining I called houeskeeping/maintenance and asked that someone come and clean the pool so my kids could swim, (it was dirty there was a frog in the pool and an empty water bottle) I spoke with Sara and she told me that pool cleaning day was on Tuesday. I politely told her that I paid $2500.00 for the week and I was not going to wait until Tuesday to have the pool cleaned. So Sarah assured me that someone would be out to clean the pool.....well nobody showed up until Thursday night while we were at dinner and all they did was throw some powder chlorine in the bottom of the pool. My husband ended up cleaning the pool the best he could and the kids were tired of waiting to swim that they went in. On friday afternoon the pool cleaning company finally came out to clean the pool...just in time for the next renters so THEY could have a clean pool. Other than that it was a very nice property and I would stay again. My kids had a great time. Kokomo Key provided just this. The hope was clean but not immaculate. Service was attentive as we had a slight problem with the cable and a shower door. The pool could have been cleaner but it was October and we understand leaves tend to fall. Towels, kitchen aids and basic needs in a rental were at best adequate. Would like to see a more personalized approach to each renter but the company is quite large so it was understood. There needs to be a laundry basket for doing laundry-there are 15 steps up to 2nd & 3rd levels. That would've been helpful! There was no Granite cleaner/Cooktop cleaner to clean the beautiful kitchen and keep it neat and tidy. And a few more serving pieces in the kitchen would've been nice like bowls/baskets for munchies and bowls/platters for serving dinner. We only had 5 people in our family and I can't imagine if you had the full 10 people staying there and cooking meals. The propane tank was empty and no spare in the garage as noted in instructions so we had to go buy another tank. Pool person never showed up,to our knowledge that week/the pool monitoring system was reading low on salt and never changed. Bruce-the handyman was wonderful/came & replaced the front door handle and showed us how to work the TV in the familyroom/kitchen area since confusing b/c it was a home theatre system. Beside those small things- it is a great house/location. We will come back again, definitely!!!! Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 This place is awsome and in a great subdivision; the Kokomo residence is great but the cleaning crew had to return to finish cleaning the house. There was a lack of courtesy when we called for help and had to make almost a call every day for a different reason. We are not too demanding with vacation rentals but there was no value for the money during this week; a property of this class and price should be in pristine condition! And watch for the big sharp rocks in the beach; they are hard to spot and they will hurt you. The floors we dirty we had to call the housekeeping out to mop the floors.Nice pool and hot tub. We had to call out the pool company to clean the pool. The location was perfect... just a quick drive to the beach and short drive to beautiful St. Augustine. The house had everything we needed from pots and pans to toilet paper and soap. The only complaint I have would be the cleanliness of the house. The floors looked as if they hadn't been mopped, swept or vacuumed in a LONG time. We found some gross stuff laying around. We had to do some cleaning before we could get too comfortable, which is disappointing because I think we had to pay a cleaning fee. Other than that, this place was wonderful. My only complaint on house is there are 2 bedrooms WITHOUT tv's . I know you are in Florida and supposed to be on beach or golfing but at night with kids that are used to watching tv in their own rooms it makes it difficult. Seems as though owner could spend 1000 and get 2 more tvs for other bedrooms. The book that helps you with the house IS NOT accurate and not that helpful. From arrival I was unhappy with vrp the wifi didnt work, there was no key to get into the clubhouse. It took 2 days to get these things resolved and the wifi I fixed myself. I also had issues with the entertainment system in living room, too many controls took 30 minutes to get tv working. Once I figured it out it was no big deal from then on but really frustating when you first get there. Pool was dirty the whole time I was there. Pool company did come by on Tuesday, but not sure if they really cleaned it I know they drained water out because of storms on Saturday night. My biggest complaint about vrp is the lack of customer service. It was like we got your money, you're in Florida now so figure it out on your own. I called them 5-6 times during my stay and I got tired of calling. I really never felt as though they cared or even knew the answers to my questions. They just kept telling me how busy they were with 600 rental units. Thats all fine and dandy ,but I'm #1 to me just like anyone reading this is #1 to themselves and want their vacation to be perfect. I guess the best part of mine was I was in Florida on vacation. Just wish my overall experience would have been better.
