****beach Front**** Penthouse Hale Awapuhi Sunrise is Special!!
Hale Awapuhi Sunrise is surely among the largest & most luxurious ocean front apartments in Hawaii. Exclusively gated, this boutique 9-unit project is on a quiet beach cove with natural ocean ponds. Hale Awapuhi Sunrise has a private entrance steps away from the covered parking and shaded by giant Monkey pod trees. Boasting over 2200 square feet plus lanai space and a 23 foot high ceiling, this luxurious apartment feels much more like a private home than a condo unit. Occasionally the rare Hawaiian monk seal will inhabits the beach below & Turtles can often be seen from the lanai. Enjoy watching the cruise ships and seasonal whales pass by. It is impossible to build any closer to the ocean these days.
The unit was completely redesigned and renovated in 2003. A local architect redesigned to afford ocean views from the custom kitchen, with all new cabinetry and appliances. Aside from the dramatic ocean view, the spiral staircase adds a dramatic artistic element to the main living area. The unit is finished with beech wood and marble floors, jetted tubs, granite kitchen counters and custom lighting fixtures. Attention to every detail to make this an amazing setting. This is one of the finest suites that we have the opportunity to manage.

I arrived at night, walked in and was immediately astonished just by the furnishings alone! It is like you are vacationing in livable art. It is 2 levels 3 full baths, each with enormous sunken jacuzzi tubs. The furniture is unlike a typical rental. It is relaxed elegance bringing nature inside with a little more sophistication. Morning comes and I am speechless.. I catch the Sunrise realizing how close we are to the water, you are practically on the water. Directly below the condo you have private gate access to the pristine Hawaiian beach which feels like your own. The beach is stunningly beautiful with gentile water and views as far as the eyes can see. A beautiful pool overlooks the inviting sea. Each room is beautifully decorated, yet still livable. The beds are as comfortable as can be, the master will blow you away with it's views, art, and spiral staircase. It has a washer/dryer, 2nd room (I used it as an office.) The condo is big enough for two couples to stay in and not feel crowded at all. The enormous lanai has two full tables overlooking stunning sunsets and sunrises. There is a formal dining table, a sitting area made from a tree. The table is art and I want it! In the closet downstairs all equipment for recreational activities is provided. You are given two parking spaces, again, unheard of. I have been to the Hawaiian islands many, many, times. I own a condo in Kona, Hawaii, and nothing has ever compared to this place. The fact that there are only 9 units gives you a sense of privacy. Your own private gem. Sadly I no longer want to use my own condo. Waking up the first morning to the glorious sunrise put something in me that shall never leave. Best condo I have ever stayed in on the islands! My husband and I have very high standards. Owning several vacation rentals ourselves, it is very hard to impress us. If you get the opportunity to stay here don't think of looking elsewhere!!
Reviewed by: Weston N. recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in September, 2016 The location is great. It has excellent views and feels very private considering it is in a condo complex. It is a little dated and not extremely well maintained. There are multiple appliances, electronics, and amenities that do not function properly. However, we would have been very happy with the place overall if it had air conditioning. Many places in Kauai do not have AC so that is not unusual but, be aware, it can get quite hot inside the condo during the afternoon if there is not AC. The provided beach chairs/umbrella/beach equipment are very nice!

I am born and raised on the Island of Kauai and have worked in the real estate field for over 24 years. I have truly fallen in love with this spot and in particular this unit. The ocean is so soothing, it takes all your worries away and relaxes your body and mind. I could stay here forever....I slept sooo well.Second, having worked in the real estate field for over 24 years, I have seen and dealt with a lot of owners and management companies. I can't say enough good things about Kauai Exclusive Management. Experiencing a stay in some of their units, I was highly impressed to how clean all their vacation rentals are, the level of comfort with the way it was furnished was appreciated and when I had any feedback for them for room for improvement, they immediately were proactive. I highly recommend any of their units they represent. I know that you will be well taken care as well as be in a spot that is truly cared for. Thank you so much for my stay!

The photos don?t do the view justice. We left the patio doors open 24/7. The vaulted ceiling makes the place feel so very spacious. It was clean (spotless) and well stocked. Grab a coffee and scone just across the street and don?t miss out on Kintaro just a 2-minute walk for fabulous service and sushi. There is a Safeway just minutes down the road. Loved the location I personally believe Kauai is a ?get out there and explore island?, so from here it?s super easy to travel north or south. .I loved Kauai Exclusive Management they were so helpful from day one, from when I made the booking and then I had to move my days! Right up to the very end just right there if you needed anything. Patrick, Sherri, thank you,and a special thanks to Josh for all you did. Big big thanks you ;-)My only warning would be check the weather the time of year you are renting. While the condo has plenty of fans it doest have A/C which to be honest probably isn?t needed 11 months out of the year but I happen to catch a very humid 2 weeks and it took some adjusting to. If you love the heat it wont be a problem. It?s a 100% I will be back ?..Mahalo,

The exterior balcony floor was really dirty causing us to believe the whole condo floor was dirty, but once we figured it out, we washed down the balcony floor and everything was great. The condo was beautiful, fully stocked, and one of the best locations we could ask for. If & when I go to Kauai again, I'll want this same condo! Barry Q. from Honolulu, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2015 A great weekend began with the opening of the front doors to this lovely unit! We were greeted by a spectacular sparkling blue ocean, and cool tradewind breezes that kept this unit cool throughout our stay. There is a little private bay with great swimming on the opposite side of the bay, tidepooling and crabhunting for the kids in the middle of the bay, and turtle watching just steps from the unit. A pool is available but we hardly used it. A grill is also available in the common area on the ground floor in a breeze way in the middle of all the units and an entertainment patio to entertain guests for the day if u so desire. The pictures are exactly what you get with both bedrooms having their own bathrooms and a guest bathroom perfectly placed near the the entrance before entering the unit. The appliances in the kitchen are up to date and modern while the unit was sprinkled with art peices all around that gave each part of the room its own feel. It was a little awkward figuring out the TV and the sound system, and a little dust/salt on the floors of the unit to begin with, but overall, the unit was very clean; what would you expect in an OCEAN front property. And despite the fact that the Jacuzzi tub did not work in the master bath and some of the light fixtures in the dinning room, these were very minor things as we hardly used these areas. There is no airconditioning, but the breezes are sufficient to keep the place comfortable (we were there the ending of may to june). I would highly recommend this place and will put it on the list for places I would stay at should I return. It was well worth the money!

Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in April, 2015 We stayed in this wonderful condo, knowing we were splurging a bit on a luxury property. It was so worth it. This condo, the lovely interior and the excellent location made our entire vacation. What a wonderful introduction to Hawaii. We visited many of the beaches all around the island and actually enjoyed "ours" the best. Secluded beach, shared with swimming turtles, though public, had minimal people and is just steps from the condo with an unmatched view. I still miss waking every morning to coffee at sunrise on the lanai. Close to the best restaurants on the island (in our opinion) and to shopping without feeling crowded or urban. We would definitely stay here again...and again. Folks considering staying here should know there is not air conditioning, though multiple fans are provided. The ocean air is muggy and the condo is quite warm at night. The fans move the air, but do not provide much cooling, so if you're uncomfortable with hot, humid weather, you might not be happy with the lack of air conditioning. But once you open the sliding glass door to the giant lanai and hear the ocean waves hitting the shore, you'll forget about everything else.

Lydgate Beach Park, with a long white stretch of sand and a great kids' playground, is a 5 min. drive. Kauai Esclusive Management was super easy to deal with. The views are spectacular, we had the pool mostly to ourselves and the kids loved exploring on the beach and playing in the little tidepool lagoon area created by the reef. The waves were big because of hurricane Marie so swimming was difficult on the East side beaches but we explored other parts of the island and the kids were able to swim elsewhere. The pictures online do not do it justice, especially the fabulous view and spacious lanai. The kitchen is well appointed and comfortable and the bathrooms are all marble with huge showers and tubs. The décor is lovely and bed comfortable. The complex is very small and quiet. We felt like we were the only ones there most of the time! The one problem we did have was the big tv in the living room was not picking up channels. They sent someone out the next day but he couldn't fix it, so he brought us a whole new tv (!), but that didn't work either. They sent another guy, who determined it was the cable box but in the end, that tv never did work, as by then we got into the Easter holiday weekend, and I imagine getting the cable company out just wasn't happening. We did receive a $100 refund for the inconvenience, which was really nice as we didn't even ask for it. And, tho we would've liked to have tv in the living room, it certainly wasn't a priority! The nice tv upstairs was fine for checking up on the news and keeping tabs on the playoffs :-) And the wifi was excellent. I will say sometimes it seemed like when I talked to different people at the mgmt company, I had to explain from scratch what was going on. Oh! We also had the "beeping fridge" issue, which we hardly noticed over the wonderful sound of the surf, and like a previous reviewer reported, when we had a brief power outage overnight, it stopped.I can't say enough about the lanai. Sitting out there watching the turtles play in the afternoons, after our morning of exploring, was the most wonderful thing! And coffee during sunrise too!We totally loved the location- so convenient to every place on the island, and walking across the street to the bakery and several restaurants, plus the Shell station for quick supplies was great.Absolutely cannot wait to return!

Reviewed by: Kathy and Michael W. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 20 days in February, 2014 Hale Awapuhi Sunrise is advertised as one of the "largest and most luxurious oceanfront properties in Hawaii." While it may be one of the largest, and it is oceanfront, it is definitely not luxurious. The location is lovely - it is located in a small 9 unit complex right on a small quiet beach, which was a great place to enjoy morning coffee. The grounds are lovely. The condo itself certainly has the potential to be 'luxurious', but definitely needs some attention. When I think of luxurious, I think of thick, plush towels, beautiful down filled pillows and crisp, fresh bedding. Everything should be immaculately clean and fresh. The kitchen should have every amenity you could imagine. Hale Awapuhi Sunrise falls short on all counts. The towels are old and stained; the bedding is also old - the sheets were mismatched, and the bedspread is very old and dingy; the throw pillows on both the bed and the couch are old and stained; the kitchen is the most ill-equipped kitchen we have ever stayed in - missing very basic things, such as: dish cloths, mixing/salad/serving bowls, ovenware/casserole dishes; a cutting board; plastic drink glasses for the pool; placemats; a lighter/matches; proper measuring name but a few. The door on the dishwasher was broken (but could still be used), along with a rack inside the dishwasher; the oven was dirty (and you may not want to look underneath); the walls are in desperate need of paint, and the carpet needs to be replaced. We have stayed in many vrbo properties, and have never posted a review. Because Hale Awapuhi is advertised as such a luxurious property, I felt it necessary to submit a review. I think this property has immense potential, and certainly could be one of the "most luxurious", but is in desperate need of much TLC before that would be true. I hope it gets the attention it deserves.

Disappointed we could not barbecue on lanai but had use of a common area barbecue on the grounds, so not a big deal. Ice machine didn't work properly, but we were able to purchase ice from the gas station across the street. Very much enjoyed the art, it made me imagine the owners of the suite would be fun to meet. Bottom line, this place was great cost wise, as we were able to split with another couple. Lots of whales frolicking out front. Too bad it rained just about every day we were there. Wa waaa!
Reviewed by: Debbie L. recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in January, 2014 We loved this unit! Was beautiful inside, and the grounds and pool were also great. The walk down to the beach took only a minute. We would get up every morning and watch the sunrise either from our deck or from the beach. The sea turtles would feed just off shore from the beach, so we saw them every morning. We also could see the whales spouting and jumping out in the ocean. The pool was cleaned every day, and the grounds were kept up very nicely. Saw people out working a few times while we were there, so we could tell that they definitely were concerned with keeping the place in good shape. We felt that this was the perfect location to stay on Kauai, as it was somewhat in the middle. Not too far to either end of the island. The Passion Bakery across the street was great for breakfast or just rolls. We went there several mornings after we discovered how good their products were! The unit itself was beautiful! Lots of space and all of the kitchen supplies that we needed. The whole unit was very clean when we got there. No problems with thwat at all. We did have an issue with the fridge 'beeping' , similar to a warning signal. The maintanance man thought it was due to the light bulbs being burnt out, but after we lost power for a short period one evening, and the fridge came back on, the beeping had stopped and all of the fridge lights worked! Odd. So I guess the fix is to shut the fridge off and then back on, and it will reset itself. We had a few questions on how to use stuff in the unit, and the Kauai Exclusive staff was always available and handled our questions. Would very definitely come back and stay again! And would also recommend this as the perfect place for others to stay!

Loved to sit in the shade of the tree, on the beach, read my book and watch my kids swim. The condo is very modern and beautifully furnished. Really enjoyed the large shower and double size bath. The only reason I am giving the general condition a 4 is because the full week of our stay there were workers trimming trees and making a lot of noise grinding the wood and other workers were doing some maintenance on the building. Abby M. from Winnipeg, MB recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2012 This rental is simply amazing - in terms of overall management and location. If you are looking for a rental on Kauia where most days you can relax and things planned for you this is the place. Or if you are looking for a place in a central location and you can explore the island yourself - this is the place. You can walk to many amazing restuarants - sushi, korean, mexician, vegan, and many within Coconut marketplace. We didn't have a rental car for the first two days and besides stocking the condo with food - never needed a car. The property managers can also help you plan excursions or give you advice on places to see. We stayed in this rental for 10 days with a one year old toddler and my in laws and had plenty of space and loved every minute. The only reason why I commented on cleanliness was due to my toddler and I am extra neat - so we cleaned the floors when we arrived. I think we might have also rushed the cleaners as we checked in right at 3:00 p.m. and she seemed to have alot of work to do. Stayed for 11 days in December, 2012 A#1 asset of the condo is the gift of the ocean that seems to be yours alone when sitting in the living room or the deck. It was great to watch the kite surfing and marvel at how easy they make the sport look. A monk seal (B-24) came and slept on the beach; the seal babysitter saw to it that we tourists kept our distance and explained that this seal had been raised on this beach and thus frequently visits. The condo itself was very nicely decorated and the placement of the upstairs bedroom gave plenty of private space for both couples in out party.Another nice feature of this condo is the location on Kauai...convenient to the airport and midway between side trips to either side of the island.I was surprised and please to see all the chickens the island hosts. The crowing is a backdrop to the island sounds and while frequent was never intrusive.

It would help if there were some instructions for the TV and there was a better barbecue. The barbecue near the pool was very dirty and took some effort to get it to work.

I did some extensive searching to find the right place for our Kauai vacation and this house definitely did not disappoint. It's beautiful, modern, yes even sexy! It was truly a perfect getaway locale for us. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Our highlight would have to be our morning breakfasts on the lanai overlooking the beach and the sunrise. Top notch place and it was very private... The perfect place for our honeymoon!

I can't thank Lauren enough for all her help in finding the perfect place for my 50th birthday. The pictures online don't do it justice. It's located close to Kapaa, but far enough away not to be 'touristy'. It felt like it was our home for the month of our stay. It was very private and quiet with it's own private access to a small local beach. Turtles played in the waves almost every day we were there between 11am and 4pm. I'd never seen sea turtles in the wild before, so this experience was very exciting for me.Thank you for everything!
