Nice bedroom furniture and fans in all rooms, including the main lanai, which is screened-in. Master bedroom is very attractive and has a new flat screened TV. Away From The Crowd A guest from Ann Arbor, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in January, 2013 This was my second visit to Kauai and this location was nicely different from my past Princeville experience. On the north shore beyond Hanalei, it was wonderful to be in a lush garden setting on the garden isle and up in the air in a house on stilts. It was a very handy location for visiting the north shore beaches stretching from Hanalei to the Ha'ena State Park. You do have to get used to the crowing of the wild Kauai chickens that roam everywhere. The roosters were particularly noisy all through the night of the full moon, and became a bit quieter as the moon waned, saving their cacophony for actual sunrise. The unit did not have A/C, but being there in late January to early February, the days were pleasantly warm and nights cool enough for good sleeping. Escaping the cold midwest, I thought the weather was ideal. There was only one drawback I would feel remiss in not mentioning for anyone very sensitive to noise. Someone in the little valley and on the other side of the stream had a group of dogs that could sometimes launch into extended barking jags. Overall, however, this was a great place. |

It was in a great location to some beautiful beaches. It was nice to come back after some long days and unwind, we felt like we were at home. Would we stay here again most definitely! And we are already talking about when we are going back. It was nice that there was all the little extras at the tree house. Thank you for sharing your home with our family it made our vacation unforgettable. |

Stayed for 11 days in September, 2012 House and setting are a slice of old Hawaii, the kind of atmosphere that most of us expect of the islands, but often miss. The raised home boast a lanai at each of the three bedroos and a screened lanai off the living room that overlooks lush tropical landscaping and a gentle stream. Drive north and in a few miles reach the end the road and a hike into the Napoli coast. Drive south and in another easy drive, provisions, shopping and dining can be found at charming Hanalei. Great beaches are everywhere, and don't overlook the Taco Wagon parked near the Hanalei Pier - the fish tacos are excellent. |

Tropical Delight - I Felt Like I Was in a Rain Forest! Ali R. from Grants Pass, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 Absolutely LOVED this house - especially waking up to the sounds of birds of all kinds singing and calling! The king size beds were very comfortable and each of the bedrooms had it's own private balcony. We never used the dining table as the screened-in lanai was so pleasant! The grounds were like living in a botanical garden - gorgeous! Definitely got our exercise in with the steep staircase! Boy, a hoist would have been nice for our very heavy luggage. Quite a sight - it took 3 middle aged women to carry up one bag at a time! As far as the 100 yards to the ocean in the ad; hmmm... maybe as the crow flies? Definitely had to drive to the ocean but beautiful beaches were not far away. The road is way to narrow to safely walk on it and very heavily traveled. We had some bugs but we are gecko friendly people and didn't mind that they appeared in the evening to try to take care of the evening buggies. Just recommend keeping all foods in the refrigerator. Too bad there was road construction on both the highway and the road just across the river to the rear of the house. Very loud. At least they did not work on nights or weekends! I would definitely suggest going back to this house again. Eventually the road work will be finished - yeah? |

We had 4 teenagers with us and they thought it was so cool that they did a "Cribs" video. The location is perfect if you want to see the North Shore as it's right in the middle. The home is very roomy and very clean. The grounds are awesome (very tropical) and you can float right to the beach (or walk)! It was a perfect stay! |

July visit to Kauai Faith R. from Phoenix, AZ does not recommend this property. Stayed for 9 days in July, 2012 House needs attention, master bath needs a good cleaning. We had to wear off when inside the house because there were so many bugs. Grounds were unkempt and on arrival I had to contact the property managent to request it be cleaned up. Also, there was not a grill and had to stress that it was a requirement for us. |

Stayed for 5 days in March, 2012 This house has great bedrooms, linens etc., but the cookware is very old and cheap. The broom was falling apart and the vacuum cleaner dirty and spewing lint. Slightly false advertising, it may be close to a beach, but with no possibility to walk there due to single bridges and traffic. Washer was broken, but with no note to say how to use. Beach towels in bad condition except one. House needs instructions and some kind of welcome to future guests. |

Not great A guest from Kenmore Alberta, CANADA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in January, 2012 Mislead from the beginning. The house is close to a beach but unless you are willing to float down the creek, it is not easily accessible. When I inquired about the proximity to the beach, I was assured it was only 100yrds. Sure but not walking distance. Then after I had already paid my deposit I was informed the house had been sold and I would have to deal with Remax Kauai. From the get go with Remax I had problems. I realize that it was because of the switch in ownership but should not have been that bad. I don't have enough space here to relay all the problems, phone calls, faxes, emails etc. I had a heck of a time getting my deposit back. Even after the permission was given to have it returned to me and waiting for the 35-40days. I was even charged again for the amount of the deposit instead of refunded! Needless to say, I would not recommend dealing with Remax Kauai from my experiences with them. Everything has finally been made right so I do Thank Remax for that. They also offered discount if I ever decided to book with them again. The house itself is nice enough. Although there must be a dog kennel near by because there is non stop howling/barking all evening and night. The master bedroom has to deal with the sound of the vehicles crossing the bridges as well, unless you close the windows which cuts off the cool air. The living room furniture is broken, the kitchen sink needs some serious maintenance as the garbage disposal sprays debris unless you put something over top of it while trying to shoot water down. The ants are sure a pain too. Considering how beautiful the island is we still had a great time, next time though, I'll find somewhere else to stay. |
