Gregory R. from Missoula, Montana recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2015 We have been coming to Manzanita for 15 years or so as a family. Absolutely love the place. We have stayed in several different rentals with varying degrees of success. This, by far, was the best of the bunch. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The location was a short walk to the downtown. Absolutely no complaints. Will rent again.
David A. from White Rock, British Columbia recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 We have stayed at over a dozen rental units in Manzanita. Windward Pines was one of the best located and well kept homes we have been in. We had a fantastic visit.
A guest from Broomfield, Colorado recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2015 We spent a relaxing and fabulous week here. Not a 5 star place but something even better, a home that shows all the signs of being truly loved. It felt like visiting a friends' home and we felt honored that our hosts let us borrow their home for the week.
A guest from Glenwood Springs, Colorado recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2015 We had a great time at this house. It's nothing super fancy, but has almost everything you need. Half a block to the beach. Plenty of sand toys in the garage and a couple boogy-boards. Only thing I would recommend is adding a few toys to the interior for kids to play with. We flew so didn't bring much, so some kids toys to play with inside would have been great. Other than that, it was fantastic! Very comfortable - everyone slept great. Kitchen is fully stocked. We would certainly rent here again! Only other downside was that the management company forgot to leave our key in the envelope for our late arrival, which I had alerted them to. Thank goodness someone called us back and came to give us our key because it was 11 pm and I really didn't know what we would do if we couldn't get in!
A guest from Bozeman, MT recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2015 Overall this was a great place to stay. Easy to walk the one mile to downtown, which we did multiple times/day. Three suggestions: The water heater should be turned up. With five women staying together we had to make a real effort to stagger our showers or else suffer through a cold shower. Two: the rental people should make it easier to recycle. We tried to take our stuff to Cart'm, the recycle center, but were rudely turned away. If we were to leave the recycling at the house, we would be charged extra. So we threw it in the garbage. Frustrating. Three: the women who slept in the bunk bed room said it was too tiny and claustrophobic with that many beds crammed into one small room. I slept in a double bed all by myself, and another friend upstairs had a large bedroom. We were super comfy. But the three in bunk beds were uncomfortable. That toon was intended for kids, I think.
Reviewed by: Barbara H. L. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014 The house, location, just everything about it was as nice as possible. We loved the place. Everything was very clean and there were lavish amounts of paper products towels nice sheets. To sum up we were more than pleased. I don't think the management company did anything about the weather but even the weather was as nice as everything else. Thank you. Barbara H.Ladd
Steve L. from Shoreline, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 I think this is the tenth? time we've rented this house. we love it like it was our own. always feels like home when we arrive and are always sad to leave.
A guest from surrey, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 Two families shared this house near the beach in July, 2014. It was clean, equipped with everything we needed and very comfortable! Beach was a short walk down the road, town was a nice walk as well. Would definitely recommend for families, will come again!
Matthew C. from West Linn, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2014 We had a wonderful experience at Windward Pines. This is a great house with many special touches. Nice appliances, lovely deck, New TV, WiFi and much more. Lots of room for a family to spread out. Best of all, the beach is at the end of the street. Manzanita puts on a wonderful July 4th parade and the fireworks were amazing.
A guest from LYNNWOOD, WA - Washington recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2014 This home is less than a block to the beach which is perfect for quick strolls on the beach. The beds in particular were very comfortable. The kitchen had every amenity we needed. We have stayed in several homes in Manzanita and this one was one of the cleanest. the only negative for this location was the street and not anything to do with the owners or property management. There are huge potholes and if you have a car, be very careful not to bottom out or damage suspension.
Tiffany T. from Madras, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2014 This worked well for us, we shared the rental with friends, and adults and kids all enjoyed it. The beach access was great, an easy walk, but not too close I worried about the little ones going on their own. Town was a bit of a trek, but do- able. The only issues we had was that it was very chilly when we checked in, and the downstairs took quite a while to warm up. The firewood was also confusing, and we ended up bringing our own, then found a huge pole in the garage. The kitchen is well stocked, grill is handy, parking is easy. The beds were comfortable, although one of the top bunks didn't have a suitable railing, so nobody slept up there. There is a policeman who lives next door, so it feels very safe! I would stay here again in a second. There are also several geocaches nearby.
Kim W. from Tigard, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2014 I LOVE this property! Great location and convenience. The house is stocked with many extras that you normally do not find in a rental. Felt very comfortable and homey.
Shanda B. from Bend, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2013 I really didn't want to review this property because if more people want to stay there then there is a bigger chance it will become harder to book dates! We love it here and always stay here. It is very cozy and it is our "family coast house" Great location and well equipped. Will surely visit again and again!
Rose E. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 Love this location- a half block off of beautiful Manzanita beach. It's far enough from the public beach that it feels very private. The home is clean, and I've always found Sunset Vacation Rentals to be great to work with. I do think the home could use some updates, however, and some nicer kitchen ware- has a definite budget 1980s feel.
A guest from Mercer Island, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 I loved being able to turn my kids loose for the beach without them having to cross any streets. This is a nice walk to town, either on the bike path or beach and a nice, quiet neighborhood. The house itself was comfortable and cozy with a slightly rustic feel.
Chris N. from Overland Park, KS recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2013 After searching far and wide for a place on or close to the beach in Oregon, that didn't cost an arm and a leg, I found Windward Pines. I was concerned, but once we arrived, all our cares went away. First of all, the house isn't right on the beach, but a short walk to access it. Plus, we don't have to actually cross any streets. I felt completely ok with my kids walking down to the beach by themselves to play. Manzanita is a great smaller town, with some real character, and wonderful beaches. The house itself was very charming. It almost felt like being in my grandparents house growing up. You can tell the house has been cared for, and it had everything we needed. I have to say, the best part was the book of memories that past guests had written in. My girlfriend and I had 4 boys with us, and had planned on one more coming. there was plenty of room for all of us to comfortably sleep. Board Games, TV, and the fireplace made us feel right at home. This place was incredible and will definitely look at renting again, especially from the rental company.
A guest from West Linn, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2013 We had a wonderful week at Windward Pines. This was our third stay at this house. It was just perfect except for the wireless internet being down.
Martin B. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2013 A short w/e stay and our second time at this house. For me the ideal beach house for a family/friends with kids. 100 yards from beautiful beach - (25 minute stroll down beach to coffee) great kitchen, relaxing living room, nice bedrooms, fun bunk room for kids - good laundry and bathroom amenities. Nice deck to star gaze on in evening - it's a real beach house.
A guest from West Linn, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2012 We had a wonderful time at Windward Pines. This was our second stay in this home. The house is great and the proximity to the beach is a big plus. We came in the middle of Sept. and had a gorgeous 85 degree day with no wind on the beach! Highly recommend this house.
Steve L. from Shoreline, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 We have stayed in this house i think for the 7th time. The first was when our daughter was 7 and now she's 16! We lovwe everything about the house. Only have one request though. Gas BBQ on the deck. The weber BBQ has seen better days and it's not very convienent to bbq on the driveway. A lot of running up and down the stairs. hehe. We will stay at the house again in the near future. We like to think this is our beach house!
Property Manager Response: Response from Sunset Vacation Rentals We plan both a deck expansion and adding a gas BBQ! - from the owner
