A guest from Ft. Myers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2016 A great place for meeting up with family. We had four generations of outstanding women having a great time together. Very hard to beat the million dollar view at Palm Island Resort. We will be back.
Belinda W. from Saint Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2016 Great location as it is very close to the beach. Appreciated that the back deck is screened in. Third bedroom is a loft with no door for privacy if that matters.
Tom S. from Valrico, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2015 Overall the trip was great, the staff was polite and helpful. The only areas that need improvement are small but make a big difference. The pool area needed more chairs and umbrellas. The grills were much smaller the previously. The canopy in the pool area was torn. The villa was great but we needed more trash bags, only two were provided. A better grade of toilet paper would help.
A guest from Schnecksville, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2015 We visited Palm Island Resort twice when our children were younger. Now that they are all grown with families of their own, we decided to take everyone back for the PIR experience once again...and we weren't disappointed!! Everything was what we remembered. Great staff, great views, great stay! We had a comfy 3 bedroom villa right on the beach and next to the pool. We rented the golf carts and had a good time exploring the island (lots of turtle sightings). Collecting sea shells was a daily trek with one more beautiful than the next...we came back with the most perfect collections you can imagine! The boys went on a 1/2 day fishing trip and brought us back delicious snook and trout. Lots of good restaurants in the area. We especially recommend Farlows for a great upscale meal and (if you like LOTS of food) Mamas for Italian which is right across the street from Farlows. If you're looking for a laid back family getaway this is definitely the place to go!
Ken S. from Alpharetta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2015 Had a great time. Been coming for 18 years. Only issue we had was the code for the internet router in unit 1724 did not work. With 2 teenage daughters, that was an issue.
A guest from Fort Myers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2014 celebrated my husbands 50th bday with friends and family. we had 2 beach units- both beautiful-loved the decor. restaurant was great. golf carts fun. beautiful beach- lots of shells, dolphins jumping, schools of bait fish everywhere. great staff- they even put up a bday banner and card for my hubbie. have fun- we did and will be back!!! thanks Palm Island!
James B. from St. Pete, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 We had such an awesome time! This was our third year in a row vacationing at Palm Island Resort and we have already made plans to do so again next year. Our experience seems to get better each time and we are very glad you guys are there. Thanks for a great time and we will see you next year!
A guest from Clearwater, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 Had an amazing, relaxing, and unwinding vacation on Palm Island. It was the perfect vacation. My family had a vacation home on the South end of the Island (Little Gasparilla) when I was growing up. This was a way for me to come back and share the Island with my daughter. Palm Island has so much to offer... the escape from the mainland, but also has amenities that you would want no matter where you vacation. The Rum Bay Cafe, Market, many pools, tennis courts, the beautiful beach, golf carts, and play grounds make it the perfect spot for a family to go. Just turn off the cell phone, computer, tablet and TV... and escape onto a gorgeous place with wild life and beauty. It is one of the last places where you can experience a slice of "Old Florida" the way it used to be. The last unspoiled jewel!
A guest from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 We have made a family tradition of spending one week of our summer vacation at "The Beach House". No electronics - no "shopping" or chores - just long walks on the beach, shelling, jigsaw puzzels and great conversations! Our children will bring their children!
Vicki D. from Macon, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2014 This was our sixth stay at Palm Island Resort & one of our best. We had been upgraded to a 3 bedroom villa and we really enjoyed the extra space. My husband commented on how spacious & roomy the villa was. The location was great also....just a short walk to the beach or pool. The sunsets from the balcony were breathtaking as we're the fireworks July 4th. Our only request would be to please get rid if the "no seeums"!!
Amy H. from Kansas City, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2013 Palm Island is gorgeous and a perfect spot for young families. However, my college age children want nearby activities like shopping, bars and nightlife...nothing on this beach or just off the ferry. Very well maintained and beautiful resort though.
A guest from FT Myers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2013 This is my sixth time staying at the resort. We live in Fort Myers, fl. We always have a lovely time. My only complaint is the reservation process. When you look at the resort on-line and make an inquiry, no one ever returns the information requested. I have always had to call the resort. It is hard to book a particular unit that you are viewing on-line, when you are on the phone. Also, one minor issue, the new pool access cards are a nuisance, especially when you have to push a button, mounted on the canopy, in order to get out. I don't see why renters should be limited to one pool. The cards should grant access to all the pool locations. It would also be nice if the downstairs bathroom had a handicap bar in the shower for elderly guests. Overall, we had another fantastic time. I recommend this resort to everyone looking for a quiet, beautiful location on the gulf coast of Florida.
A guest from Marco Island, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 We discovered Palm Island Resort as guests of a wedding. It was a beautiful setting for the wedding and a perfect spot to enjoy nature and family.
Linda M. from Port Saint Lucie, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 Our experience was one of fun, food and excitement. Service, amenities, rentals were wonderful. Can't wait to share with my friends and family this jewel!
A guest from Spring Hill, Florida does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 Palm Island is a GREAT place to go. Staff is wonderful! Very peaceful surroundings. Wonderful place with or without kids. The unit was less to be desired. Needs a lot of cleaning and maintenance. I would definitely recommend Palm Island resort just not that unit. I have stayed there numerous times and some villas in the deluxe category are nicer than the superior category. Tip: really check out the pictures yourself.
Jacqueline P. from Boca Raton, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 Palm island resort is the most perfect retreat from the hustle of every day life. The staff was very informative and accommodating. Prior to our arrival, I was told exactly what to expect from the moment we pulled onto the barge. This is a very laid back relaxing environment, you can do absolutely nothing if you choose or be as active as you want. We will defiantly be making this a annual trip!
Jennifer W. from Wellington, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2013 If you're considering going to Palm Island, GO!!! You will not be sorry! It's beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, fun, and everything you could want from a beach vacation. The 3 bedroom villa we stayed in was stunning, with every detail perfectly thought out. You will NOT be disappointed!
Scott H. from Pittsburg, KS recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 We've been coming to Palm Island since 1992 when our youngest daughter was less than a year old. This year all three of our daughters, one boyfriend and our grandson accompanied us. Although we generally prefer staying in one of the Land's End cottages, this time we stayed in a Beach Villa 3-bedroom unit, and had a very nice experience overall. The location was really close to the beach, which we loved, and we enjoyed easy access to a fresh water pool and barbecue grills which we used daily. We love Palm Island for so many reasons, including the quiet atmosphere, relaxed pace, absence of cars, pristine cleanliness of the beach, great shelling, wading and swimming...and did I mention how quiet it is! Great, regular, reliable, friendly ferry service (in all kinds of weather) makes trips to the mainland, when necessary, easy and fast. Over the course of more than twenty years of stays at Palm Island we have been very satisfied with the condition of the villas and cottages and the way they are equipped. During our most recent stay, although the villa was in good condition and nicely furnished and equipped, there were a few maintenance issues (stair banisters which needed cleaning, mildew in one bathroom, and air filters that needed to be replaced) which were not typical of our previous experiences. Overall we love Palm Island Resort, and plan to return again soon!
MICHAEL V. from TEQUESTA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 We have come to Palm Island Resort yearly for the past 23 years without missing a year. We alway enjoy our time and will continue to return year after year! Oh I almost forgot, Red Beard Rules and Black Beard drools!!!
A guest from BROOKFIELD, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in June, 2012 Have been staying at PI ever since it opened. Obviously we like it there and will go back. The front office staff has changed and at times seemed unwilling/unable to solve guest's problems. Not a deal breaker because I don't go there and hang out in the office, but there was a palpable change in customer focus. The Resturant definitely needs some new directions. The food was only average this time around and service was poor...long wait times, getting take out orders correct etc. I would expect much better given the cost you incure by going to the resturant. Barge men and Bell boys were great as usual.
James R. from Platteville, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2012 The charge for the golf carts should be disclosed at time of renting.refrigerator should be turned on and ready for us when we arrivesalt/pepper should be there for uspretty minor stuff...but when you rent an exclusive place, you expect the best!
Sumer S. from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2011 The condo was amazing. Great view and accomadating staff. Will definatly be back and will rent this condo agian.
Jacky L. from Coral gables, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2011 We were really delightful with Palm Island and anmaze to find such a woderful place close to Home. We are definitely comming back.
Marc P. from Lakeland, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2011 The staff from check in, water taxi service, bellman, and restaurant service went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable!
Victoria M. from TAMPA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2011 I love going to the resort I can always have a wonderful, relaxing time come home refreshed. I think what I like most is that it is so secluded, no cars or stores. I never want to leave.
