Pinecone is located in the Knotty Pine Cabins Resort. It is walking distance to everything, restaurants, shopping and more. It comes with a queen bed, gas log fireplace, small bathroom with tub/shower, small open kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, gas stove and all your utensils. Pinecone comes hotel ready with clean linens and towels. You have a small private deck with seating and a BBQ when the weather gets really nice. All of our cabins have access to the shared firepit area where you have plenty of seating. Pinecone is perfect for a private getaway for that romantic weekend or a quick one night stay. I have never stayed anywhere with that many issues - including the heater, leaking/non-working sinks, TV problems, windows that don't stay up or are completely broken. I passed on a list to Dawn - who jokingly said she found my name on an OCD list. Also, it took forever to check out. 15 to 20 minutes. I did like the location, the firm bed & I liked the dog friendly atmosphere. I would love to stay there again if these issues are addressed. |

The road work definitely interrupted that plan! Thus the 3 star rating on overall satisfaction. We will return this Spring. The property is run beautifully---very friendly, helpful staff; completely stocked cabins; unexpected amenities in the cabins and the office lounge. If I had any suggestion for the owner it would be to expand the bathroom (Pinecone Cabin #1) into the closet. The commode is too cramped. Definitely not handicap accessible. And who needs a closet when your "camping" :-)Look forward to returning! The cabin was nice and super clean. They have thought of everything you could possibly need in the cabin and even left little goodie bags for us and a bed, toys, and dog bowls for our puppy that came with us. The cabin has a nice porch that we loved sitting out on at night while we ate dinner or just relaxed, also it has a big flat screen tv if you feel like relaxing before bed and watching some tv....couldn't believe it. The employees are super sweet and have excellent customer service. We arrived and noticed they were renovating some of the cabins so when we went to check in the first thing the front desk woman did was apologize and told us she would give us a discount, we didn't even have to say one word! Plus, the workers were really nice and not loud at all, didn't even notice they were there. The cabin is walking distance from all the local restaurants and markets; however, it isn't walking distance from the lake. The only thing my husband and I both didn't care for was how close the cabin is to the main road, you look out the cabin and you see it. It wasn't a problem during the day but once we wanted to go to bed we had to leave windows open because it would get too warm in the cabin (no air conditioning) and once it got close to the sun coming up all we would hear were trucks and cars right out our window...not too relaxing. Luckily, my husband came prepared and we both had ear plugs that worked out just fine. One other thing is there isn't anywhere to have a fire outside. We were really hoping we could sit out by a fire at night but there isn't any room for that. I talked to one of the employees and she mentioned they are working on building a large fire pit for their guests to sit out by at night.All in all, this place is amazing! I haven't experienced such great customer service and hospitality in a long time AND an awesome cabin that was super clean and cute! I would recommend this place to anyone! |

It's literally 100 feet to a cafe, pizza parlor and a bar an grill. Within 100 yards throw in a gas station, 3 more restaurants, a deli and small grocery store. Also there are some neat little shops all within walking distance. Great place for a relaxing lazy getaway. Our favorites are Wahtoke grill and Shaver Lake pizza. The best way to describe the cabin is like a hotel room with a kitchen and a good size porch. Inside was super clean. The bed was a bit on the firm side. A broom would've been a handy feature for the cabin to have as we were tracking in a little bit of dirt but other than that everything's included. Nice full size coffee maker, full size fridge and freezer and a 4burner stove with an oven. We will definately stay here again! |

Stayed for 2 days in August, 2011 We wanted a place to spend our anniversary that would be quiet and cozy, and for the most part, this was it. The cabin itself was very nice, though there were a couple of small problems we ran into after we got there. We had prepared for a grilled dinner, but there were no tongs for the grill, so we made do with forks and stuff (we bought a pair of tongs for future guests to use), which worked out fine. Very nice propane grill on the front porch. The shower was a little small, but I didn't run out of hot water, so that was nice. There's no dishwasher in this unit, but they provide you with soap, a rag, and a dish strainer to wash any of the dishes. The chairs on the porch were pretty wobbly, but once you're sitting in them comfortably, they're fine. They supplied us with plenty of one-ply toilet paper (which was surprisingly sturdy stuff. nothing like that shreddy stuff you find in rest stops on the side of the road), but I missed my cushy charmin. Oh, and in case you decide to try the pizza place right down the street, the breadsticks were on par with any other pizza place I've been to, but the pizza was really tasty. The sports bar up the road from there can get a little loud and rowdy sometimes, even late at night, so be prepared. The one thing I was worried about while we were there was the oven. I used it to bake cookies, and we smelled gas for a while and it kept making this sound like rushing water every 3 seconds or so for the first couple minutes it was on. I wanted to check and see if there was a leak, but I didn't want to mess anything up. Also, there's no light that goes off when it's at the right temp, and there's no thermometer in there, so if you're used to that, I'd suggest bringing an oven safe thermometer. The lady in the office was very nice and helpful (I had no idea the cabins were right next door, so when she pointed out the window I had to ask at least 5 times what she was pointing at, but she didn't get annoyed at all :)) Overall, great stay. |

Walking distance to the small town's limited eating areas and convienence stores. Cabin was clean and toletries supplied. Small, tight bathroom, but not a big deal if your slim. Very close to the main road and thus being very loud in the early morning from the cars goin to the lake and at night from the nearby bars. Appears to be in process of being remodeled and nice brand new gas grill on deck. The noise didn't seem as bad after a long, tiring day at the lake. Enjoyed it overall, but may think of getting a cabin further away from the road next time. |
