Fireside Cabin is a perfect escape from the Fresno heat!
Erin A. from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2016 The Fireside cabin is very comfortable with a great deck in the center of the village. It was within walking distance to restaurants, bars and a market. It's 3 bedrooms fit my 3 children, spouses, grand daughter and my dog comfortably. There were only a couple of items which would have made it a perfect 5 star rating. The living room needs another couch besides the futon which was uncomfortable. The kitchen needed more utinsels and the shower curtain was very dirty. There also needs to be an additional stair or two at the back door. The incline was steep and I slipped a couple of times which could be dangerous.
A guest from AUCKLAND, NZ recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2016 It was a very pleasant, quiet spot. The amenities were good, restaurants and store nearby. Shaver Lake was a 5 minute drive away. The property was comfortable but very dark inside with a number of lights not working. It was well equipped and reasonably comfortable.
Brandi M. from Oakdale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2016 Overall the property and cabin offered everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. It was nice to walk in the kitchen and have every utensil you need available. We only had two issues; first, dishes in kitchen had food stuck on them from the previous people, so everything we used we had to wash first. Second, the barbecue was filthy with food stuff all over the grill and used coals still in the grill. No briquettes were provided with the grill. Besides those two issues, everyone had a great time and there was ample sleeping space, including an additional full sized futon in the living room! We wanted to go shopping in the little gift shop they had available, but the office and gift shop was closed the whole 4 days we were there. They seemed to close the office once all cabins were checked in. We will definitely stay here again!!
A guest from Whittier, California does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2016 Was disappointed in the cabin overall! Been there 3 other times in the past and this is the worst. Not very clean, lighting bad, livingroom furniture needs to go,electrical wires hanging loose above stove. Cars coming in after office closes with too many cabin occupants. Thank you Joseph for you're help over the weekend. Will not return!
carmelia s. from Hanford, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2016 Our second stay and we like the location. It is conveniently near all the locations we wanted to see. The house is comfortable. May not be a 5 star hotel, but it suits our needs. I hope we can return soon. Enjoyed the fireplace as we looked out to see the snow following.
A guest from Atascadero, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in January, 2016 Overall, we really had a lot of fun in this rustic cabin-- 2 adults, 5 kids, and 1 dog. Plenty of room to lounge around, make dinner, and run outside to the snow if you're lucky enough to get some (we got over a foot in one night!). The only downside is the morning we were to check out, and the morning of the snow, the power and water went out. So we weren't able to warm up and dry off before leaving. But the staff was kind and friendly and very helpful. This is walking distance to several eateries and only 10 minutes from a sno-park for sledding. And FYI, the description says 3 twins but it's actually 2 twins plus a rollaway so we had to bribe a kid to sleep on it.
Irma C. from Hanford, California recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in January, 2016 Everything was as described. We had a party of 11 people and we all fit comfortably with room to spare. I've stayed at other cabins and hot water was an issue, not here. We all took showers the same day and washed dishes without any issues. A few negatives...WiFi didn't work, remote to the DVD player was missing so we couldn't use it and upstairs TV didn't have cords connected. Please note the third twin bed is actually a roll away, it didn't matter because it fit great in room with other twin beds. We are already looking at dates for our next trip.
Maureen M. from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2015 Cabin was very nice, quiet, extremely clean, spacious, and an awesome deck with great outside seats, benches and small tables (this was where most of us hung out). The cabin location is great; easy walk to groceries, restaurants, coffee, bars, etc., and just a short drive to the lake. The only 2 things we recommend is the living room furniture be upgraded for comfort at some time in the near future, and work on better wi-fi connections. Our vacation was great, and we plan to return at some time.
Hayley F. from Auberry, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2015 We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was clean and well-stocked. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do.
Emma A. from Fallbrook, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 The 3 bedroom cabin was more than large enough for a big group. Staff was helpful and late check in was a breeze. Will be staying again when I need to be in Shaver lake area.
A guest from Clovis, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2015 I was a little disappointed in the cabin we stayed in. In the description online it had 3 twin beds set up in 1 room and 2 other rooms with queen beds only. We had planned for all the cousins to sleep in the room with the twin beds and they were unable to since there were only 2 twin beds in the room, we had to set up a cot they had in one of the rooms in a different room then we had wanted. Also they removed some of the furniture in the front room so it only sat 4 people. For a cabin that is supposedly for 7 people, I felt like it was misleading. Other then the furniture everything else was fine. The property management doesn't call you back though, you have to call multiple times to speak with someone on the phone.
Jeannine P. from Bakersfield, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 Enjoyed our 4 day stay at Knotty Pines. The cabin was reasonably priced & very clean. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Liked that it was walking distance to both grocery stores and restrauants. Just a short drive to the lake. The staff was professional and very nice. We will most definately stay there again.
Kevin S. from Madera, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2015 Three straight Father's Day Saturdays in a row without a hitch. Cabin & surrounding area was clean & ready, Six guys on a fishing trip & everybody went home happy.
Joe B. from Glendale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2015 Our family of four enjoyed a three-night stay in the Fireside cabin over the Easter weekend. Found it to be very clean and cozy. Easy walk to the lake. Celebrated our son's 30th birthday with a special dinner at the nearby Trading Post restaurant. We do plan to come back.
Derek B. from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in March, 2015 Staff was very accommodating, cabin was very clean, kitchen had everything there to cook with, plenty of room to spread out, plenty of sleeping and walking distance to town. Thank you.
Jen J. from Templeton, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in January, 2015 Easy to find. Property had construction going on, so it was a little messy and equipment was parked outside. Cabin was clean and basic with recent remodel. We had plenty of beds and dishes/pots to cook with. We will be staying there again in the future!
Jessica J. from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2014 The cabin was a perfect way to spend a relaxing weekend celebrating our mom for her 60th birthday! The cabin is updated, clean and super cozy. We planned on cooking a nice dinner one night and we brought up our own cooking supplies just in case they didn't have what we needed. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to make an elaborate meal! In the future we will not be lugging up our own kitchen stuff to say the least. I personally love the location. You are right in town, so we would walk to get yummy coffees in the morning and we took some nice strolls to the lake with the dogs. We have rented cabins in Shaver for years and this company is by far the easiest to deal with and I love that all of the cleaning and linen fees are already included in the nightly fee. Not to mention, they are pet friendly and make bringing up your pets hassle free as well.
A guest from Oakland, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in October, 2014 Our cozy cabin captured all of our expectations of our get-away to the mountains Great kitchen, spacious family & dining room & an incredible HD television.Best asset is the front porch deck, nestled in the pines & nice outdoor furniture.Fireplace adds alot of atmosphere & staff are very friendly & helpful....definitely a "must" destination!
A guest from Pasadena, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 It was a nice place, however everything was old and smelled bad. The sheets smelled dirty so did the covers. The couch was HORRIBLE if you sat on it it was difficult to get up! Also the grill was broken. The beds were also old and uncomfortable. I really liked the fact it was in a great location, just wished it would have been a bit cleaner.
Carlos Z. from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 We all loved staying there it was a wonderful experience the cabins are well taken care of and it looks beautiful we will stay there again
A guest from Tucson, Arizona recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 The cabins look to be in a state of upgrade, most work done, a few more final details to be accomplished. Nice location, GREAT staff.
Kevin S. from Madera, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2014 My son and brother have stayed at Knotty Pines for 3 consecutive Father's Day weekends to fish with ****'s Fishing Charters (also a great time). The cabib is alway clean and ready for us. In walking distance to several local businesses. Would recommend to anyone.
Lisa G. from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2014 Just what we needed. Location is a little noisy being on the Main Street and that particular weekend there were some noisy people. But overall I recommend this cabin. I like that there isn't cleaning fees too.
Angel D. from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 Very cozy cabin, I always stay here whenever I'm in Shaver. Staff's friendly and give's me my own incentives. Location couldn't be closer to the lake. Best stays here ever
Joel E. from Oakdale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2014 First time to the Shaver Lake area, and we are glad we chose to stay at the Knotty Pines Cabins. The place was set up and off the main road (hardly any traffic noise)and the cabins were very nice. We rented one of the larger cabins and some friends rented a small one. Granted, we had three bedrooms with all the amenities, but we all fell in love with the quaint little cabin and how neat it was furnished and set up. We stayed four nights and during that time, not one issue with the cabins occurred. The staff was kind and professional, giving us tips on where to visit, eat and fish. We all decided while sitting around the huge fire pit on our last night, that we have to return again in a few months....
Cindy G. from Grover Beach, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2014 We really can't say enough about this place and their crew. They are easy to book with over the phone, first of all. Then when you arrive the cabins are right in the center of Shaver Village, yet secluded enough that you are private. We needed one thing addressed in our cabin, and the maintenance crew were absolutely on it. Best regards to Barry and James. Monica was also wonderful and reminded us when we may need additional supplies. The cabins are roomy, clean, self contained, and centrally located. Our only problem with this review is that more people will know about them. I own a wine bar in Pismo and look forward to this pampered time, and that's exactly what we got. See ya soon, guys!
Robert G. P. from Santa Fe Springs, California recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2014 Toilet got plugged up downstairs and shower flows unevenly. You should replace shower head and bathroom door. The sleeper needs a better mattress as wathing TV was uncomfortable.
Wade S. from Laguna Niguel, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2014 The size of the place was great. Everything worked well. Beds were pretty firm, not very comfortable, but good enough.
A guest from Paso Robles, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2014 Great accommodations, able to fit everyone comfortably. Cabin was a little dated and needed some updates. I will definitely stay here again.
A guest from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2013 I did feel safe and location was convient to services. However, it was TOO close to town and highway. We were looking forward to a cabin experience and Knotty Pines was still more of a hotel feel. The cabin was clean and efficiently stocked with necessities. The walls are quite thin, though. We could clearly hear conversations from other rooms.
Reviewed by: Sergio C. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 i love the location and the people there are nice they treat you really nice the cabins are good but the inside of the cabin needs a little workmanship because some of the stuff need to be repaired i guess in a way they need to be remodel a bit but other then that they are great i love the fired place and the management is great as well as the location
Great place to relax and a just a walk to the Restaur. & activiti
A guest from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in September, 2013 Great Place to relax and enjoy the local activities. Can walk to restaurants. Recommend and we plan to visit again soon.
Thomas P. from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 We stayed here in September for three nights. We had four others meet us there the following day. First the location is good, off the road enough to muffle some car traffic. Perfect if you wish to walk around close to everything at Shaver. There are three bed rooms. We stayed in the room downstairs because we brought up four dogs, has better access to outside, when needed. As luck would have it had the best bed too. Upstairs nice large master bedroom with queen bed with very hard mattress ,and with one of the two restrooms, NO shower, and the other with shower is in the downstairs bathroom. The upstairs toilet had the water supply turned off after turning it on I noticed it ran all day and night. Should have beed fixed I mean they turned it off right? The third bedroom had two twins that needed new mattereses they also. The kitchen, had a very moderate supply of pans and dishware. No can opener that worked. Some plastic containers with holes in them, I mean, why would you put it back on the shelf? They said they has wi-fi we found some in the area, but not for us. Luckly we get a good Verison signal so we paired the labtop with our cell phone, worked quite well. The best feature in the place we feel was the outside front deck, we placed some child gates at the stairs coming up which made a perfect area for us too sit with the dogs, we didnt have to worry about them running off. Really nice. Also had a gas BBQ which worked great. All in all, was nice, my guests had sore backs from the beds. If they replace the beds and updated some of there dishware it would have been a better experiance for everyone.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 The property management were professional and friendly. The cabin was clean and comfortable. I would definetly rent again and highly recommend.
Carla P. from Tulare, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in July, 2013 The cabins are located in the best area. They are within walking distance to everything you need or want. My family and I had the best vacation ever. We played volleyball along with other outside sports. The fire pit at night was amazing. Everyone was very friendly and Cory even brought me a pot because I forgot my crock pot. The only problem is the cabin could use a slight remodel (beds were a little hard :/) Otherwise I would highly recommend this establishment. They are very professional and friendly making my family vacation an overall success. :)
Good cabins ive been here 3 times n i would come back

Jacob F. from Valley Village, Ca. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2013 A group of my friends and I all stayed at the Fireside cabin over the weekend. Beautiful location, great accommodations, wonderful staff. Couldn't be happier. We are definitely coming here again next year. I highly recommend staying here for your next ski trip.
A guest from Visalia, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2013 The beds needed to be updated they all slope to one side and the couch needs replacement very uncomfortable to sit on no padding. The upstairs restroom only the cold water worked and no water pressure.
Reviewed by: William N. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2012 The people in the office could not have been nicer. The cabin is rustic, but perfect for two families with children. We were able to walk to EVERYTHING in Shaver from the cabin.
Jack and Krystine L. from Madera, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2012 We loved our Thanksgiving weekend trip to the cabin. The cabin was so very clean with all of the little details. The furniture/beds were a bit dated but we didn't mind at all. The customer service was top notch. The fireplace was warm and cozy. We have done many family vacations and this was one of the best! The shaver lake town was bustling with many happy people getting ready for the Christmas season. We enjoyed Santa lighting the Christmas tree one night and had free hot chocolate and cookies and my Grandson sat on Santa's lap and they offered us a free picture! This was the kindness of the Chamber of commerce! We will definitely come back again! Knotty Pines, you gave us so many memories! Thank you!
Lisa N. from Fresno, Ca. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2012 Cabin and everything about it are perfect! Beautiful, well stocked, clean, big and cozy! And the rental agents are a pure joy to work with. This is the perfect place for any size group and any length of stay.

Very quite. Great Location. Easily park 2 to 3 cars.
Mark R. from Irwindale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2011 Although we were within 50 yards of the main road we never heard any noise from vehicles--very quite. Restaurants, fuel, grocery and gift shopping within walking distance-100 to 200 yards in either direction. Upstairs bedroom with small bath had a very hard bed-- woke up with back pains every morning. Need to bring extra cups, plates and utencils if more than 2 to 3 people staying in cabin. Very clean, furniture OK, some lamps and fan switches didn't work. Plenty of recepticles for charging cell phones, powering laptop and other equipment.
Wendy B. from Sacramento, Ca. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2011 I really like Shaver Lake and this was a great opportunity for my family to stay here (including the dog) and celebrate my mother's birthday. I was concerned with a comment posted on a review prior to me booking this cabin. The comment stated that the cabin smelled like cigarette smoke and that it had come from the cleaning lady. The smell was evident when we first arrived but we were able to deal with it for two days. On our last morning there, I witnessed the cleaning lady performing her job in another cabin with a cigarette in her hand at all times. She came in and out of the property with it and handled the towels the same. Besides the smoking cleaning lady, it was a great stay and the property management company was professional and very welcoming. I would return as long as the cigarette bandit is not cleaning the cabin I am staying in.
Melanie S. from Fresno, Ca. recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in August, 2011 This little cabin was a great place for a " Girls weekend". The cabin was very clean and has brand new deck. We were told by management they will be remodeling with hardwood floors and new updated interior. We look forward to staying here again when it has been updated.
