Kathleen S. from Tulare, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2016 We had a great time in the cabin, just enough bedrooms for my whole family. The location was great, close to the town and everything was walking distance. There was wood provided for the fireplace, which was great! Some of the amenities described online for the cabin were wrong, the fire place is wood burning, not gas, there is no hair dryer in the bathroom, no dishwasher in the kitchen, and couldn't find the remote for the tv. The cabin is very dark inside. The light over the dinning room table was very dim and had some light bulbs out, and the cabin needed a few more lamps. There were no trash bags and we had to go buy some so we could take out the trash. Upstairs was cold even with the heater on and fire place going. Even though there were portable heaters, with having small children we couldn't have them on. Plus, at most times, no one is in the office. When having a guest shop and check in and check out, someone should be in the office during the day. Overall, we would recommend this cabin to our friends.
Samantha L. from Clovis, California recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2016 The Wildflower was well taken care of and well loved. Just a two minute's walk from the small town, it was the perfect distance for accessibility and quiet. Six minutes by car to the lake meant we were away from the hubbub of passers by, but could easily visit the water to go kayaking (or whatever else we'd have liked to do). The cabin was lovely; the epitome of coziness. The kitchen was well dressed with utensils and pans, making it easy for us to cook and bake, which we did. A communal campfire provided a perfect opportunity to meet the family staying in the adjacent cabin, who were lovely as well. The woman I dealt with upon check in was cordial and warm and the office was a wonderful gift shop and welcome-mat combination. So much was either supplied outright or offered that we felt positively spoiled. We will almost definitely be returning.
DIRK L. from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2016 It was a pretty nice cabin. Spacious and comfortable. A few things were disappointing. Pictures of the cabin showed a propane grill but we arrived to find a small charcoal grill. The TV remotes were very difficult to use since they weren't from the same brand. The dishwasher is broken, unusable without any internal parts- no trays for dishes. Somewhat limited supply of dishes. Wine glasses would be nice.
A guest from Ripon, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2016 We had an enjoyable stay celebrating our son's birthday. Pet friendly. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Enough parking for vehicles and boat. 15 min from Shaver Lake. Bathrooms were small (had to sit sideways in the upstairs bathroom). No rail on the outside edge of the stairs. Very close to main road and the Pub & Grub. Some may find this convenient; we were hoping for a little more seclusion. However, we did enjoy hearing the live music from the Pub while we were at the fire pit. Dishwasher didn't work so dishes had to be washed by hand.
A guest from Laton, California recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2016 This was my third stay at Knotty Pine Cabins. It is nice for a shorter stay. I like the location and the Wildflower is large enough for a family of five and is pet friendly. Nice to have a full kitchen and the fire pit. Opportunities for improvement include a dishwasher (had one but was not working) and a gas BBQ (briquette is messy and not as easy to use. Regardless, the property was well-maintained and clean and we enjoyed our stay.
Regina C. from Bakersfield, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2016 It was more than I expected I was in awe how clean how cozy just beautiful. We are diffenity planning another stay but longer. :) loved everything about it. awesome weekend. thank you
Charles P. from Peoria, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2016 We had a large group that needed housing before our backpacking trip. The facility exceeded our expectations and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. There are various restaurants and stores within walking distance. The cabins are not state of the art but for the price we were very pleased. The beds were comfortable and with a group of 9 we never ran out of hot water. A great place to stay.
Christine S. from Paso Robles, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2016 We had an excellent stay in the Wildflower cabin. It was large and roomy for all of us. I would definitely stay here again. I have a few suggestions though. The bed in the master room was completely sagging in the middle. A mattress would be great. The sheets were the most comfortable ones I have ever slept on. The lighting in the place was so dark. 2 lightbulbs were burnt out on the dining room. Needs way more light. Also, I was outside one night and a drunk guy from the bar next door came over and urinated right in front of me. Right outside the back door. I would stay here again though. I loved it. I would just bring some lights.
A guest from Fresno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in January, 2016 We wanted a cabin large enough for 5 people and in the snow with a usable kitchen and a fireplace. This cabin did not disappoint at all. We loved it and will be back!
A guest from Clovis, California recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2015 We had a great stay at the Wildflower cabin. We enjoyed bringing our dogs. The cabin was comfortable, but the kitchen was missing some essential items. The cabin was listed as having a gas fireplace but it ended up having a wood burning fireplace. We were able to get wood at the store nearby. The walkway was icy and made it a little treacherous on a snowy morning.
Hayley F. from Auberry, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2015 We had a lovely stay at the Knotty Pines. The cabins were very clean and slept 7 very comfortably. The kids enjoyed the campfire area and spent a lot of time outside playing. We would definitely come back!
A guest from Burbank, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2015 We had 8 people in our party. 4 adults and 4 children. Everyone loved the location and the cabin. Only complaint is the dimly lit rooms and the lack of water for one night due to the well being clogged. Otherwise, the rental was super!
A guest from La Verne, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in July, 2015 Great location and friendly staff. ghe Cabin was nice. Could use a bit more light house keeping. Several spiderweb on the cellings in the rooms.
Michele N. from Clovis, California recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2015 Everything was amazing. The staff were very professional and approachable. They helped out with any need that we had. The only two things that I could mention that wasn't the best thing was they had some construction going on behind the office which was an eyesore and the recent change over to charcoal instead of propane grills. The website was not updated to this change and paying for charcoal in Shaver Lake was very overpriced.
Gary E. from San Miguel, California recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2015 Cabin is old, but in good shape. Light switch in one bedroom had no cover on electrical switch. Had been reported before to owner and not taken care of. Fire place was left dirty with ashes when we arrived. Over all clean and enjoyed our stay.
Carla P. from Tulare, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2015 We had the most amazing time in Shaverlake. The office staff is some of the nicest people you will ever come across. the cabin in centrally located and within walking distance to just about everything. We played in the snow and played games out around the fire at night. I would highly recommend this cabin for a get away or even a family get together. There is plenty of room and the beds are amazing!
A guest from Ceres, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in December, 2014 Decent place for the price and location. Funky smell upon arrival, dining room ceiling fan/light did not work, stairs are missing the railing and kids could fall if not careful, needs blinds on kitchen, bath and back door, light switch covers missing in the rooms, metal mesh covering heating registers instead of normal covers... a construction company owns these which makes these easily fixable items a bit of a mystery...Location was good, check-in/check-out was good, staff was nice... would recommend on location and price but the inside aesthetics left me wondering...
A guest from San Luis Obispo, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 Cute little cabin, right "downtown" within walking distance to the markets and restaurants. Convenient home base to Shaver, Huntington and Wishon (among the other lakes in the area). Clean, convenient, well appointed, lots of room for us( 2 adults, 2 non-adults). A little dark inside (not enough lighting to put hooks on the fishing poles for these old eyes)and a little noisy from the bar next door on a Friday night, but acceptable. Property management staff was very friendly and accommodating. We'll stay again and would recommend to others.
A guest from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2014 We have stayed in a Knotty Pine Cabin multiple times and we feel they are a good value. As usual, there were a few things that didn't work (dish washer (smelled horrible), garbage disposal, washing machine, and door handles and latches broken and a few surprises like a mouse in the living room and no lamp(s) in the living room. However, even with the inconveniences noted above, we had a great time. The staff is superb and addressed our issues and the location is close to everything. We have, and will continue to recommend Knotty Pines to our friends.
Reviewed by: Kate N. recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in March, 2014 We had the best time staying in the Wildflower cabin at Knotty Pines. It was the perfect accommodations for a weekend of skiing for two couples as well as our dogs! The location was about a 25 minute drive to China Peak but well work it, its right in town and close to everything. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with. The house had everything that we needed, dishwasher, washer and dryer, 5 beds, two bathrooms, all the dishes etc. It couldn't have been better and we're already talking about a return visit. I would highly recommend.
A guest from San Luis Obispo, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2014 Perfect cabin for a family get away-Enjoyed the snow- great kitchen- great rooms- great location- were able to watch the 2014 winter olympics at night by the fire. great property managment. everything was above and beyond what we expected- thank you!!
Erna M. from Madera, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2014 Our family loves to escape to the Knotty Pines for the New Year. It's close to the snow and the beautiful fresh air of the mountains. The Wildflower is now our favorite cabin. We love making memories here!
Sara W. from Hanford, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2013 THE CABIN WAS DIRTY, THE WASHER AND DRYER DIDN'T WORK, WE FOUND TWO HUGE SPIDERS AND THE TOILETS WERE BACKED UP. THE LOCATION WAS GREAT AND THE STAFF WERE VERY NICE!
Reviewed by: Kelley T. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2013 Excellent location. Property management right next door and very accommodating. Everything included in the nightly rate, no extras for linens / cleaning. Aces light bulbs out, ran out of propane gas at big deal, used BBQ at adjacent unit. Very convenient-would return. Recommend renting patio boat at lake-very reasonable.
Jon H. from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 Knotty Pines Cabins are in a great location that is close to the lake, resturaunts and shopping. The staff is friendly and helpfull.
Reviewed by: Michelle D. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2013 Since we have a small baby we wanted to be closer to town, definitely right in town but still has lost of trees and you definitely still feel you are in the mountains.
A guest from Bakersfield, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2013 We just went up for the weekend. We loved it and wish we could have stayed longer. The Cabin was perfect for all of us. Will definatly be renting it again.
Reviewed by: Kim D. recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in March, 2013 We only went up for a night, but really enjoyed the cabin. Our two young children really enjoyed the stairs inside. It was concerning that the railing didn't go all the way to the top, but fortunately was not a problem. (They do have a safety gate if needed). Everything was within walking distance which was very nice. The office staff were great and provided us with everything that we needed. Great little getaway!
Reviewed by: Carol B. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2013 This was a cute little house clean and comfortable. The only thing lacking was a good mattress to sleep on. We were told this cabin would be remodeled soon and I would definately rent it again when they is located in a group of cabins so the parking is tight. But being able to walk to town was a plus and you are within walking distance of the lake. Thumbs-up!!
A guest from Canyon Country, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2012 Our trip to Shaver Lake was great, thanks to the wonderful staff at Knotty Pines. We experienced a minor incident while exploring the area. Dawne went out of her way to help us out. She turned a potential catastrophe into a minor incident so that we could continue to enjoy our vacation.
A guest from Hanford, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2012 In the dead of winter it was warm, comfortable, plenty of hot water, and all if the kitchen equipment we needed. There was a VHS player and movies in one bedroom and we decided to watch them. Unfortunately it was for show and the VHS player did not even have a plug in to the tv. But if that's the worst thing that happened we are pretty lucky.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2012 Our stay was too short but we are thankful for any time we can spend with family. The cabin was warm and the beds very comfortable. The coffee maker didn't work so we were a bit disappointed when we couldn't wake up to our Starbucks and the pots and pans were few. However, when we explained our dilemma to the owners they immediately provided what we needed. They were kind, friendly, professional, and very accomodating. In the future we will make the Knotty Pines Cabins our destination when we visit Shaver Lake.
Lisa N. from Fresno, Ca. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2012 Everything about these rentals is fabulous! They are large, clean, beautiful, great location, fully stocked, and perfect for small or large groups. Also, the owners are incredibly helpful and accomodating. They will go out of their way to do anything they can to make your stay as great as it can possibly be.
Marian H. from Lemoore, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 It was such a great stay and super clean. I would recommend that the shower certain be secured more, the stove wasn't working right and the cold water pressure in the up stairs bathroom was very low. Upstairs VCR was missing the tv cable so we couldn't use it. Luckily we brought a DVD player but all movies played black and white on the downstairs tv. We had just used the DVD player at home so we know it wasn't the DVD player. Cable was a great amenity. Set up was perfect. We loved the fire pit. The staff was amazing and soooo helpful. Can't wait to go back.
Vikki C. from Madera, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in August, 2012 Came up from Madera to enjoy Shaver and get out of the heat. A few days at the lake with perfect weather. The cabin is the best! Great location. You can walk to all places in Shaver, and yet when your at the cabin it is peaceful and quiet even though it's near the main road. Cabin had everything we needed and more. The people taking care of the rental are just wonderful. Extremely helpful and friendly. We have rented from them before and will do so again. Thank you Knotty Pines rental.
Liked the cabin not the property management company or location
A guest from Fresno, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 Cabin very close to main road so expect noise level to be high. Also located next to rental office and staff parked their cars in front of cabin and were in and out all day and had a bbq in our driveway. I barely got a hello when I arrived and a goodbye when I left. Our first sight was a backhoe tractor parked outside the kitchen window which blocked the path to the firepit and back door. Overall, I didn't feel like I was treated as a guest that came for peace and quiet and privacy. The cabin was quaint and very clean and I was happy they allowed a dog since it's hard to find places that do.
Aleesha F. from Porterville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 I love these cabins, the staff were amazing and very helpful. We forgot our blender, so they provided one for us. Great location, beautiful.. We will def be back, love it. Thank you
Janine E. from Hanford, Ca. recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in March, 2012 The office staff were extremely helpful and friendly! When we woke up we were snowed in. I called (on a Sunday) and talked with the office staff from the cell phone # provided on the voicemail. I asked if any snow removal trucks came to take care of all the snow so we could head up to china peak, otherwise we were stuck in the cabin (with two teenagers, and two 10 year olds!) She said they would be there in an hour. They had it cleard and we were on our way in 30 minutes! They were more than generous with the flexibility of the check out time since the cabin had not been reserved for the following evening. We were able to come back after enjoying our day at the slopes, pack up then check out. I have stayed at "the Pinecone" twice and love the Charm and Coziness it provides. The Wildflower was great for the amount of people we had with us (5 total).
A guest from Clovis, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in September, 2011 great location, right in town, walk to everything. Great house, big enough for all of us to play. Having the kitchen saved some money for sure!! I will stay here again.
Kathy K. from Clovis, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2011 This cabin was in a great location. You could walk to everything around town. I liked the idea it had a ramp to the cabin instead of stairs and had a bed room down stairs. My Mother is 89 years old and this was very helpful. It would be nice if there were rails on the stairs to the upstairs. We had a great time.
Property Manager Response: Response from SHAVER LAKE CABIN RENTALS Kathy, thanks for staying with us. We value your input and suggestions and hope to have the Knotty Pines Cabins spiffed up before your next stay!
