Villa Silvestre C is a 60-square-meter (about 646 square feet) apartment with
a private patio, a shared garden, and a wide view of the sea and a valley and it has air conditioning. It
sleeps three people.
It is part of a countryside house nestled on a high stretch of coast between
Sorrento and Positano. You will have parking space at your disposal.
You will be 7 km (about 4.3 miles) away from Sorrento and 10 km (about 6 miles)
away from Positano.
At Villa Silvestre C you will have a double bedroom, a single bedroom, a
living-room, a small kitchen, and a bathroom with shower.
The place
The villa is on the top of one of the steep hills by the sea which mold the wild
and picturesque stretch of high coast which goes from Punta Campanella to
Positano. You will be about 300 meters (about 984 feet) above sea level.
The villa and the private land surrounding it (5000 square meters or about
53,820 square feet) look out on the sun and the sea.
Villa Silvestre is a large countryside house built with blocks of grey tuff. It
is surrounded by the green of the olive groves, and it faces the vast blue of
the sea. Red cranesbills and several succulent plants shine in the sun and
dangle from several vases placed on the staircases, porticoes, and terraces.
The house is in the middle of a sloping terraced land where olive trees, grape
vines, and fruit trees grow. You will reach the house by walking down a private
road embellished by bushes of yellow cranesbills and roses.
From every angle of the garden you will have a pleasant and wide view of the sea.
Villa Silvestre is in fact in the middle of a large valley which gently leans
facing towards the sea and which is covered in silvery crowns of olive trees and
lush vegetation. Amidst the green you will notice the red roof tiles of farm
houses and really small inhabited areas. The mild verdant slope is abruptly
interrupted by the blue of the sea as the hill seems to plunge from high above
into the waters down below, about one km (about 0.7 miles) away as if seen in a
straight line from the villa.
From the sea, this stretch of high coast looks impervious, wild and quite
picturesque since it is adorned by the presence of two islets, Isca and Vetara.
In this small paradise, where the air and perfume of the sun-drenched
countryside merge with the fresh and salt-scented air which emanates from the
sea, you will find a mild and salubrious climate all year round.
Next to the house, on a beautiful lawn shaded by cherry trees, you will have a
ping-pong table and deck chairs to relax outdoors, available to you and all the
guests of the villa.
While playing or resting outdoors in the sun or in the shade, you will have an
unlimited view of the sea and the Gulf of Salerno.
At Villa Silvestre you will also have a small and lush vegetable garden
cultivated with love and care by the proprietors; a place where you can glean
its seasonal vegetables. In summer you will find delicious tomatoes and scented
basil! Owners of lands nearby also produce extra-virgin olive oil and wine.
The house has old origins, and in the middle of a large room on the ground floor
you will be able to see, carefully preserved, an old oil mill for olives with
grinding wheels of stone and also old objects of everyday countryside life.
The villa has been currently restored so as to hold three small vacation homes.
A fourth home available for rental is actually a small cottage placed a bit away
from the main house.
The owners live in the place, and they will be at your disposal with all their
discretion whenever you need any kind of help or information.
100 meters (about 328 feet) away from the villa is the nearest restaurant.
The nearest town with shops is Torca, reachable by car or on foot after taking a
five-minute walk through a shortcut (400 meters or 1.300 feet).
The patio…
Villa Silvestre C is in the central area of a three-storey house built
respecting the sloping land where it is located. You will be able to reach it
from the road after descending an outdoor stairway in stone consisting of 10
steps.
You will step onto a gracious patio shaded by a secular olive tree. On the patio
you will have a table and two long wooden benches.
...the house...
You will be able to enter the living-room straight from the patio. In the
living-room you will have a couch, a table with chairs, and a TV. The kitchen is
next to the living-room, and it features a large window. It is small and it has
a pleasant rustic atmosphere with its walls covered in grey stone and white
tiles. You will have the minimum indispensable to prepare fast meals: a
two-plate electric stove, a small fridge, and a small oven.
From the living-room, you can step into a corridor which leads to the bathroom
and the two bedrooms on this floor.
The double bedroom is spacious and bright. It has a balcony through which you
can see the sea even from inside the room. The single bedroom is quite small,
and it features a window facing the countryside. The bathroom is equipped with a
shower.
You can also use the washing machine placed in a laundry-room right next to the
apartment.
…and the garden
From the patio you will be able to reach the shared garden by climbing four or
five steps in stone. The garden consists of a terraced land covered in lawn
which is partially shaded by trees and a pergola of kiwi.
In the area nearest to the house, in the shade of a large olive tree, there is
an area exclusively at your disposal which is furnished with deck chairs. In a
further area of the garden, about 20 meters (about 66 feet) away from the house,
there is a shared-use ping-pong table.
The beaches
On the Coast of Sorrento and Amalfi, the beaches are small inlets surrounded by
a high-cliff coast. 6 km (about 4 miles) away, if you descend towards the
