Greve in Chianti 1 br Vacation Rental Villa

Casa Sambuco is a small, ancient stone house for three people, of 50 square
meters (about 538 square feet) with a patio and a panoramic view across the
Tuscan hills, situated between Florence and Siena.

It has a double-bedded room, a bathroom with shower, and a living room with
fireplace and kitchenette.

You will be in the hills at an altitude of 500 meters (about 1640 feet), 30 km (about
18 miles) from Florence and 50 km (about 31 miles) from Siena, in the heart of
the region in which the world-famous Chianti Classico wines are produced.

You will be in the center of a region that is rich with history and art, offers
many ancient villages and castles for you to visit, and is famed for its
delicious cuisine as well as its excellent wines.

You will have at your disposition a lovely swimming pool surrounded by lawn and
furnished with umbrellas and sun-lounging chairs.The pool is 5X10 meters (about
16X32 feet) and is shared with the guests of the other two small apartments.

It is open from June 1 until September 20.

Around your house you will see softly rolling hills covered with vineyards and
olive trees--you may even have the chance to see wild boars or deer at the edges
of the forest.

You will have the opportunity to taste the excellent local products that you see
growing in the surrounding countryside, acquiring them directly from the
producers.

Casa Sambuco is part of an ancient agricultural estate of about 20 hectares (slightly
less than 50 acres), the principal product of which is extra-virgin olive oil.
On the estate, you can buy oil, wine and other locally-produced items.

You will arrive at the estate after leaving the main paved road, by driving
along a stretch of unpaved private road (with a surface of compacted earth).

The house is on two floors, and is built on sloping—not level—ground.

You will find the living room on the upper floor. In front of the entrance to
the living room, there is a lawn and a wooden bench facing the view of the hills.
Next to this, you will find a long terraced paved in terracotta, with umbrellas,
tables and chairs that offer a view of the pool and of the hills.

Entering into the house, you will find the enchanting atmosphere of a typical
Tuscan country house: The floors are paved with terracotta, and the ceiling
supported by wooden beams. The simple wooden furnishings have been created in a
graceful Tuscan style, and the kitchen is stonework .Everything is well
cared-for and maintained.

In the living room, you will find a beautiful fireplace in one corner. There is
also a divan bed for one person, the telephone, and the satellite TV. The
kitchenette is equipped with a three-burner cooker and a refrigerator.

A spiral stairway will take you to the lower level. Here, you will find a
spacious room with a large antique double bed, and a bathroom with shower. The
room has a glass door that opens onto a private patio furnished with umbrellas,
a table and chairs.

From inside the room, you will also have a lovely view of the hills.

Casa Sambuco is equipped with central heating and a parking space.

To stay at Casa Sambuco it is necessary to have a car. The nearest supermarket
is 8 km (about 5 miles) away.

800 meters (about half a mile) away, you will find an excellent restaurant with
open-air tables.

At Casa Sambuco you can enjoy the peace of the countryside and relax in the
pool; you will also be in an ideal central position to visit all the main
tourist sites of Tuscany, in particular Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and
Volterra.

The closest town is Greve in Chianti, at 8 km (about 5 miles) away.Greve in
Chianti is the medieval birthplace of Giovanni da Verrazzano, the Italian
navigator who discovered the bay of New York in 1524, and to whom is dedicated
the famous bridge that connects Staten Island with Brooklyn.

Staying at Casa Sambuco, you must not miss the opportunity to travel the “Via
Chiantigiana,” the “wine road” between Florence and Siena that passes through
the fertile hills of the Chianti production zone.

On every hill you will see a tower or a castle; many of these stone sentinel
points were constructed nearly a thousand years ago, when Florence and Siena
battled for dominion over this richly-productive land.

Amazingly, the Chianti zone actually contains 80 castles, each with its own
unique story to tell.

Many of these castles are open to visitors, and some have been transformed into
agricultural and tourist estates.

In each village, you will find small family-owned restaurants in which you can
eat truly wonderful food.

The closest airports are Florence and Pisa.
