Vacation Room/ Suite Rental Description:
This is camping out in grand style and fitting for an established lodge positioned on 50 acres and over 2000' of shoreline and sandy beach. As you pull up your car to Goat Island River Lodge the meandering driveway will beg you to question - are we there yet? Goat Island River Lodge can accommodate up to 11 guests in a home over 7800 square feet. There is not a house in site. Depending on the season guests can linger by the pool, stroll the sandy beach, picnic on your private island, fish and crab from your private dock or boating on the river with quick access to bigger waters for avid anglers. Dinner is prepared in either the lavish indoor kitchen or more casually prepared poolside outdoors. What we love about this house is the balance between its luxurious stone and wood finishes and the elegantly casual Ralph Lauren "like" decor. Perhaps the hardest thing about staying here is leaving. One thing is certain once you get home you will already be thinking about coming back.

The warm wood tones, bronze, mosaic and stone elements give the home an earthy, yet elegant feeling. We kayaked, crabbed and explored the beach area. We saw an albino deer, eagle, osprey, herrons and turtles. Lots of horseshoe crab shells on the beach. There was a nest on the front porch patio chair cushion that was folded over, no eggs yet but we saw a small brown bird enter it periodically. We did not disturb it. We absolutely loved the place as and hope to be able to come back.Only disappointment was the professional coffee maker took too long to brew, 45 minutes! |

A great few days.... A guest from Pikesville, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2013 A beautiful house in a phenomenal location on Tilghman Island. Private beach, bikes, 2 kayaks, and pretty grounds. The house is huge, great furnishings and touches. Fireplaces, wood burning stoves, and huge well appointed bathrooms. Fabulous kitchen too. The house does need some attention though. Nearly every room had something in it that was broken or needed adjustment from doors that wouldn't close or lock to broken window blinds to a broken telescope. The beach area needs some cleaning up though we were there in March and I would assume that by summer that would be done. Overall though we would return to this property. |

A few minor problems - coffee maker took about 90 min. to brew a pot, ice maker did not work, pool was not clean, but we called the rental office about pool problem and had it fixed the next day. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 Upon arrival of Goat Island expectation where high, and then upon inspecation of the property: the outside kitchen was filthy, the pool was not clean the patio was not clean and the fountain was disgusting filled with stagnant water the ac did not work above the garage and the air filters need to be changed going upto the bunk room alot of issues bunk shower did not work both doors to 1st floor master br were stuck (fire hazard) issues that happened everyday on our vacation that our family didn't enjoyed, this should be a turn key operation, the inspection of the rental property by ESVR if any was poor. please call if you need futher information on the Goat Island property. unhappy with ESVR Dan & Mary |

What could be more perfect than 50 private acres, 2 docks, a white sand beach, & watching glorious sunsets from the beachfront deck...simply the best! The huge swimming pool and patio offers another wonderful feature with a lovely,shady fenced yard for dogs & children to roam freely. The winding entrance drive is perfect for nature walks & the entire property offers amazing wildlife displays of deer, fox, herons, egrets,orioles, crabs, etc. The house is comfortably large and spaces are well arranged for entertaining multiple guests. This one has something for everyone...the perfect "10"!!! |

As I communicated in person to the office staff and over the phone multiple times during our stay, an otherwise enjoyable vacation was significantly marred by the ant infestation at the property. This was our first vacation through your company and I've had pleasant dealings with everyone there but I just wanted to communicate again that we really did not feel that our vacation experience was commensurate with what we paid given the ant infestation. The ant infestation affected two bedrooms (they crawled on us and our newborn while we slept), the family room and the kitchen. The only saving grace was they were not biting ants. On our last night as we tried to eat a dinner, ants came from the floor boards in the dining room and the dining table itself and swarmed our food completely ruining our final meal. When I informed your office staff, they apologized profusely and said they would raise my concerns with the owner, implying there might be some kind of refund given the problems we encountered but I never heard anything further. My family's perspective has been soured by this experience. |

This is our 7th year, staying in different locations and houses each time. By far Goat Island was the most luxurious well appointed home. Details not usually found in a vacation rental such as media center, surround sound, enormous kitchen with multiple refrigerators, 2 Viking Stoves, 3 dishwasher and an outdoor kitchen with wood burning pizza stove made the dining in experience better than a restaurant. The sandy beach is unique to most Eastern Shore homes and the owner takes advantage of that amenity by supplying an outdoor firepit and decking area overlooking the Eastern opening of the Chesapeake Bay. The bathrooms are to die for and remind you of a spa. We loved the home and our time spent there. |
