A light, bright house for up to four people set in a pretty medieval town close to Pezenas, the Mediterranean and the ‘Haut Languedoc National Park’.La Madonette is a spacious property in the pretty medieval town of Caux. It will ideally suit couples or a couple with older children.
On ground floor level is a large garage for car parking there is also washing machine. On the first floor is a large open plan living area consisting of a sitting room with sofa, chairs and television (U.K. satellite TV), a dinning area and a well-equipped kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher, American fridge, and extractor.
There are two double bedrooms both with substantial wardrobe space and bedside cabinets. The shower-room is spacious and has two wash hand basins, there is a separate toilet. Stairs lead up to the large mezzanine area with twin beds and views over the village.
From the kitchen a door leads to the small sun lounge with table and chairs, from here steps take you down to the well shaded garden with table, chairs and a substantial barbeque, there is also a small sunny area with sun-beds. The Area The small town of Caux lays some 5 minutes drive from Pezenas and 30 minutes from the beaches of the Mediterranean. It has shops, bars a restaurant and a street market once a week. La Madonette is perfectly placed for exploring this stunningly beautiful region of France. The beaches of the Mediterranean are only 30 minutes drive, as are the mountains, gorges and lakes of the ‘Haut Languedoc National Park’ a walker’s paradise.
For those interested in history the area abounds with medieval towns and villages, also close by are the haunting ‘Cathar’ castles. Children will also love the area. Just over 30 minutes drive takes you to Cap d’Agde a wonderfully vibrant resort with 14 kilometres of sandy beaches and home to ‘Aqualand’ with its flumes, slides and wave machine. Nearby you will also find ‘Toonland for the very young, an aquarium and the Canal du Midi from where you can hire a boat for the day or take a trip on a river bus. 2007 Prices for La Madonette
