Dorothy's Lodge is a newly restored historic fishing lodge in the heart of the Rideau Lakes that can accommodate up to 45 people! This property features docking for at least 7 boats, great swimming, great fishing, and exploring. It has a commercial kitchen, rec-room with pool table and big screen TV's with satellite and wifi.
It is located, within walking distance to the Cataraqui Trail (great place for biking and hiking), convenience store with beer/liquor, etc, Opinicon Lodge Restaurant, historic Chaffey's Lock and the Lockmaster's Museum, Cedars Art Studio, and Boat rentals at Brown's Marina.com
The dock has a beach swimming area and a 60x20 foot dock with great swimming and lots of room to lounge. The fishing is great from the main dock where you can catch your fill of sun-fish and rock-bass, and if you are lucky a large-mouth bass or two. Also, on the dock there is a storage shed that has a dry bar with bar fridge and a serving window.
This property is unlike any other available on the Rideau, a great place for family reunions, fishing derbies, conferences, weddings and corporate retreats!
Catering menus and prices can be provided, and a list of photographers in the area if you are looking to book a wedding.
For conferences and corporate retreats: there are several golf courses in the area, boat rentals within walking distance, and the Chaffey’s Lock Hall is a one minute walk. It can be rented for meetings for up to 85 people. Catering also available.
Dorothy’s Lodge is located conveniently at the halfway point between Toronto and Montreal, 40 minutes from the Canada/USA border, only one hour and 10 minutes from Ottawa, and only 30 minutes from the US/Canada border, making it an excellent place for extended families to congregate.

Cancellation Policy:
A cancellation made by the Renter shall be in writing and addressed to Rideau Lakes Property Management at the address stated at the top of the booking application form. Cancellation can also be emailed and will be considered accepted once a confirmation reply is received. On receipt of such notice of cancellation, we shall endeavour to re-book the holiday accommodation for the period of the original booking.
If we are successful in rebooking the holiday accommodation for the entire period originally booked, we will refund to the Renter all monies paid (whether deposit or full payment has been made) less an administration fee of $100.00 per period booked.
If we are unable to re-book your holiday accommodation, then all monies paid by the Renter (whether deposit or full payment has been made) shall be forfeited.
If we are unable to arrange the rental of the Property, due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disaster, we will attempt to arrange alternative holiday accommodation of a similar type and cost and standard and in a similar location as that originally requested by the Renter. If the alternative holiday accommodation and/or rate is not acceptable to the Renter, we shall refund in full to the Renter all monies paid by him/her to Rideau Lakes Property Management. Requests by the Renter to switch to different cottages other than the ones that have already been booked by renter, will be provided only if the original booking property/time can be re-booked, and it will result in an additional administrative charge of $50.00.
Terms and Conditions:
Reservation is secured with a 30% deposit paid via personal cheque (if time permits) direct deposit, or email money transfer, completed renter's contract (forwarded with booking information), and post-dated cheques for the balance of rent and security deposit.
Security deposit cheque will be held in trust and not cashed unless needed to due to damages or cleaning expenses incurred.
If no damages or cleaning fees are to be with-held, the Security Deposit cheque will be mailed back, marked void within one month of check-out.
Rent consists of the rent amount + HST, plus a cleaning fee of $10 +HST/person
