Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 Had a great time as always, and so convenient to Dolly Sods. The cabin was cozy and in a nice spot. The Property management company is such a pleasure to deal with!
Timberline cabin stay A guest from Acworth, Georgia recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2015 The inside of the cabin was clean, but because it rained 5 days out of 7, the cabin smelled really musty. Wish the bathrooms had been a little updated and the deck swept off and cushions on the deck furniture. On the positive side, it was fairly secluded and quiet and well furnished as far as kitchen utensils/dishes and bath towels. We had a very positive experience with Best of Canaan personnel.

Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 A fabulous time at this property! Everything from the initial reservation to the check-out was absolutely seamless and so convenient. The home is just gorgeous, comfortable and very well-equipped. We literally wanted for nothing. We are hoping to return in Septemeber! I would recommend this home to anyone, especially those traveling with pets.

Stayed for 3 days in June, 2015 Harvest Moon was inviting and cozy. Enjoyed being there for a short three days. Next visit I would take my own pillow, and Kayaks since there is a beautiful lake inside the Timberline gate.
Thanksgiving at Harvest Moon Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in November, 2014 We rented Harvest Moon for a family Thanksgiving and birthday extravaganza this year. We filled it up to its maximum of 10 people and had a great time. The open floor plan is nice for socializing and the kitchen is big enough (just) to make 6 pies and an entire Thanksgiving meal. (House is probably best for 8-9 people unless you have teenagers who prefer to sleep on the couch!)We got 18" of snow over our stay and we were *very* impressed with how quickly and how well they cleared the driveway. Thanks for a great stay.
Another great mini-vacation Ann C. from Pittsburgh, PA recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in September, 2014 This was the 2nd annual Leaf Peepers jaunt for long-time (not old) college friends. We had a great time - the weather was beautiful and the cabin perfectly suited our needs.

Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 We enjoyed our stay in your cabin. The cabin provided everything we needed. Loved the views when driving in and watching the deer from the deck. Nice quite neighborhood with two beautiful ponds. Would have loved to had blinds in the living, dining, and kitchen areas. Overall great place. Maybe one day we'll be back up that way again.
Our Family Get Together A guest from Clendenin, WV does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 This was the first vacation trip for our whole family. The cabin had enough bedrooms that we all had our own space. The cabin was nice. The kitchen was nicely equipped. The only problems I would mention is that the cabin had a musty dog smell. It is a pet-friendly cabin but I guess I didn't expect it to smell that way. The carpets in the bedrooms were stained. The sweeper still had a major amount of hair in it from the visitors before us and it smelled horrible. I tried using it after I emptied it but the smell was too overwhelming. I used the broom and dust pan instead, which worked fine. On our last night stay, our daughter-in-law was brushing her teeth before bed when a mouse ran across her feet which scared her and caused her to call for our son, her husband, to come help her. This alarmed me and my husband, which were sleeping next to their room. Thankfully, our other son, his wife and two kids that were sleeping upstairs did not hear me scream when I saw it, since it may have scared our grandkids causing them not to be able to sleep. Only half of us slept well on our last night stay.

Harvest Moon Jessica H. from Winchester, KY recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in November, 2013 This cabin, tucked away in a community that was gaurded 24/7, provided our family with the perfect Thanksgiving getaway. With 4 bedrooms and the open concept kitchen, living, dining area, Harvest Moon provided us with plenty of space to enjoy each other. The view of the mountains was obscured with trees, but this offered such a peaceful feeling when out on the deck. Neighbors were a perfect distance away. I highly recommend this cabin and the property location. 4 wheel drive is absolutely necessary in winter months! We traveled with 2 family members that have chronic back and knee problems, and they didn't have any complaints about accessibility. This cabin was just lovely.
Wonderful trip! Mallory P. from Ridgeley, WV recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 My husband two dogs and I had a great time on our trip to Canaan Valley and our stay at Harvest Moon. It was a beautiful cabin. The fireplace kept the place nice and toasty during the cold nights! The best part about the trip was bringing along our furbabies. They loved all the hiking and wildlife and so did we!
Beautiful Area, Beautiful Cabin Heather V. from Frankfort, KY recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in October, 2013 We had a wonderful time in the Cabin. The area was gorgeous for walking/hiking. The trail at the top of the resort area was one of the prettiest we'd ever hiked. Being able to share it with our furry-kid made it even better.
October 2013; fall hiking Robert B. from Wexford, PA does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 4 days in October, 2013 Being inside the gated community was a huge upgrade for us, relative to hiking (access to). The property was not as nice as we were used to. Specifically just a smaller space. No lofted ceilings or over hangs that you come to expect in some of these mountain houses. Same can be said for not having a hot tub / jacuzzi or fire pit. Grille was charcoal only.
See you in 2014! Ann C. from Pittsburgh, PA recommends this property.

Incredible Thanksgiving Holiday Kenneth W. from Mason, OH recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in November, 2012 We met our daughter, son in law, and 4 grandchildren ranging in age from 5-13 for Thanksgiving at the Harvest Moon. They live in Virginia and we are from Ohio. The house is a perfect size with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, and has a wonderful kitchen. We cooked a traditional turkey dinner and it was really fun with our daughter and myself using the large island for assembling the various dishes. While the turkey was roasting, some of us took a long walk around the area, and it is really beautiful! We played Uno Attack with our grandchildren every day at the large kitchen table, and their laughter could be heard throughout the house. To make the holiday even more perfect, it snowed all day on Saturday and was truly beautiful on the trees and ground. This trip was so much fun, just being together and was so comfy with the fireplace in the evenings. This was the first time my husband and I had been to this area, and we loved it. We will definitely plan more trips where we can all stay in one location. It was so much more fun than going to DC to visit them and staying in a hotel. This was truly a wonderful holiday. The management company does a great job, both before arrival and afterwards with questions. Thanks for all of your help. Mary Kay Wagner
Almost Heaven at Harvest Moon Donna A. from Rivesville, WV recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in September, 2012 We had had a few days at this cabin earlier in August with some family members. It was such a nice event we decided to take a few more in September. What a great place and everything you could possibly ask for in a cabin. The cabin is outfitted with comfortable beds, every possible thing you would need in a kitchen, and was just a lovely cabin to stay in for a mini-vacation. The outside was so nice and we spent time on the deck just soaking up Mother Nature. This is one of our favorite spots and we plan to return.

Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 We stayed here for four days. It was a beautiful cabin with the surroundings we were looking for. The cabin was outfitted with everything you need. We didn't want to leave and cooked some meals, but had to sample some of the local quisine and it was delicious. We are handicapped so beware most of the beds are very high and the toilets are very low. That being said, we made some adjustments with a little stool supplied by the owners and made it into bed. And there are alternative bedrooms with other beds. Some of the best sleep we've had in a long time. Don't miss out on this gem in the forest.
An excellent stay A guest from Mt. Airy, MD recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 We enjoyed our stay at the Harvest Moon. Our family spent several very pleasant days walking on and harvesting a Huckleberry crop from the adjacent Dolly Sods access. the house was very accommodating for the family. We would use Best of Canaan again to secure a house to stay in. As a professional Property Manager I was very impressed with Best of Canaan.
Vacation 6/8/2012 Suzanne C. from North East, Maryland does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 8 days in June, 2012 The cottage was beautiful and in a beautiful location but... there was a strong smell of mold in the back first floor bunk room, Screens upstairs were bent so you couldn't open the windows at night (bugs came in)there was no working smoke alarm on the first floor, there were several dirty dishes (two pans still had cooking grease in them)but the mold smell was the real culprit. We would stay in this cabin again if these things were addressed. Donna moved us to Mountain Shadow which was beautiful in every way and we had a wonderful finish to our stay. Thanks Donna for going above and beyond for our comfort.
Awesome Place Barbara T. from Pittsburgh, PA recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in May, 2012 The Harvest Moon was great. The location is very convenient and the house is very roomy and feels just like your own house. The deck was amazing, we were able to grill and just hang out and enjoy nature. Our dog loved it too. We were able to gate off the deck and let her run around. The whole area was very nice. Donna at Best of Canaan was very informative and helpful. We are looking forward to staying here again.
Harvest Moon Tom E. from Chevy Chase, MD recommends this property.
Stayed for 5 days in May, 2012 The sheets on the lst flr dbl bed felt like burlap. The light over the stove was so dim you could hardly see to cook. But most of all we missed the Hot Tub. This was our 3rd stay at this house. Had the hot tub for the first 2. We like the house otherwise but getting too old for those high beds!
Mountain Nirvana Tom H. from Falls Church, VA recommends this property.
Stayed for 31 days in March, 2012 I highly recommend Harvest Moon. The property is extremely comfortable and well maintained. It is inside a gated community that has hundreds of acres of common areas and several great hiking trails. It also has access from within the community to the Dolly Sods and the National Wildlife Refugee. There are also two large lakes on the property. The property is set into the side of a mountain in the woods about 40 yards off the road. It has a great deck where you can sit outside (almost like having a picnic in the woods). The kitchen area is an open design with lots of windows so you can look out and see right into the woods. The management company that operates the rentals is fantastic. They are always available and go out of their way to accomomdate any needs you might have. I have had nothing but good experiences with them.Harvest Moon is plain and simple a fantastic place to get away from the city and relax.

Stayed for 4 days in July, 2011 We were out of propane for the grill, but were reimbursed for it-the house was great, kitchen well equiped-lacked screen doors, but maybe they wouldn't get shut anyway. needed more dishwasher pellets and trash bags.

Stayed for 7 days in June, 2011 Great deal for the price, love the location and nature found in the area. Fishing in the lakes was wonderful and did not have to purchase an expensive short-term lisence.
